Hi Tom thanks for your video. I think a lot of people didn't get the purpose of it. Obviously the Iphone 14 PRO will be better after all it is double the price. But the main question is: Is it THAT better to justify the price difference? In my opinion, no. Pixel 7 is good enough and your video demonstrates that. So thank you. I'm quite happy with the P7.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 this is exactly the point! Tons of comparisons exist comparing the Pro vs. the Pro! What about people considering the Pixel 7 who simply want to see how it stacks up against the best iPhone?
Yeah I'm not sure I agree with the conclusion on the highlights side; the pixel appears to retain a lot more detail in the lamps on the covent garden shot.
Funny enough I have both phones. The only advantage of my Iphone 14 pro is performance and video. The photo quality and UI interface is a good if not better on the P7.
I am actually super impressed with how well the base pixel 7 has done in the video. The iphone has nice photos but can definitely see that you don't have to spend all that money on the most expensive phone to get a similar photo
I've got both phones, and the pixel is a fantastic point n shoot for good daylight photography. But if you have the storage space & don't mind a quick tinker, using 48mp Pro raw on iPhone is the best detail out the both. I find the binned 12mp on iPhone photos to be over sharpened & not as natural as the pixel, but in Pro raw it's king! Pixel has come a long way with improved video, but iPhone is best, along with portraight photo's and video cinematic mode + night video. Night photos are down to preference, pixels are brighter which some people prefer, but when it goes wrong it's way to noisy.
Crazy how biased people can be when it comes to brands, pixel wipes the floor with any iPhone if you actually know how to use them properly. Plus the battery life is absolutely insane compared to the iPhone.
I normally do, but for some of the videos I just said which was which. But maybe this isn’t sufficient I’ll fix it next time 🙌🏻 thanks for watching man
@@ItsTomRich I’ve seen this issue on other smartphones even the latest ones. It’s something I’ve noticed for a very long time. I’m surprised most reviewers don’t notice this.
I never understand why people think the iPhone is better - besides its the "cool" thing to say. Guess im picky as a photographer. The iPhone is several time worse, and you can see it in the photos because: -Dynamic range is worse -Colors are poorly produced; not natural. -Shots are often over exposed -Lighting and contrast are completely off-base -Too much post-processing, which sometimes makes it look even more unnatural. I even had a family portrait last year with the iPhone 13 and when reviewing the photos people pointed out how the colors where washed out, lighting was weird, and the shadows/contrast was completely off. I was just like *Yep, I told you not to use that garbage of a phone for the family photo*
5:31 bro you really think iphone is natural and real life like colour? can't agree on that with you , pixel has true tone and real life image output , it can be seen every time.
Google hopefully does use Samsung's 3nm for their next chip so they get that extra processing boost Vs Apple. Apple's chips cans simply do more computations which is especially important for video. Also there's a rumoured sensor upgrade.
I am opting to buy pixel 7 but one plus 11 just launched and can someone please tell which phone has better camera and better raw capture capabilities so that I can use them with full potential. Please help me out.
Just got my pixel 7. Love everything about the camera but why is the panorama mode so shitty? The resolution is sooo bad it is like an entirely different camera.

yeah, phone manufacturers still oversharpening so much in 2023 is annoying. id rather no sharpening literally at all, just leave the freaking sharpness alone and give just the option to select how much sharpness i want (starting with zero and up to whatever value they want)
Pixels tend to under-expose during certain situations, lift shadows too much. I know as I have a pixel and iphone. The iphone tends to be more consistent too.
I so badly want the Pixel 7 Pro but it's not worth the extra but I know I'd miss the telephoto. I just don't want curved edges, either. The iPhone 14 Pro is out of question for me now. I also wish the Pixel 7 on the other hand was a tad bit bigger. Damn, dilemmas :D

What a vid, great job Tom👍🏻 I do prefer the iPhone in regards of fotos, of course its not going to be everytime perfect but as I am in the apple universe anyways its the one for me. Cheers mate🙏🏻
The unforgivable omission in the 7 and 7 Pro is no 25/50 fps. I have a Google Pixel 6 and struggle with flickering lights all the time here in the UK. Why are Google Pixels set to NTSC with no PAL Region settings. Most of the world is PAL. If Apple can do it, why can't Google.
@@ItsTomRich I have to push my exposure up on the screen slider and then the flickering goes - but then Im slightly over exposed, so there is a way around it

Or rather, why not compare pixel 7 pro to 14 pro….

Pixel 7 RAW photos look great. Has a film camera vibe to it so it eats up filmic adjustments super well.

I just bought a pixel 7.. then I saw your video.. glad I did. Thanks
That 16mm ultra wide camera is a dealbreaker IMO. Especially shooting vertical nowadays having that extra wide FoV is a huge advantage.
Agreed, it’s one of the biggest fallbacks actually
The pixel 7 pro has a wider ultra wide camera with auto focus and is comparable with the the iPhone 14 pro max
