@@dafingaz Glad to hear that and yeah the very new companies can be hit or miss. Sometimes they take off and you're glad to be on the ground floor with them.
Why is it that music libraries don’t notify you if your musics been placed? I assume if you’re getting an upfront fee once your musics placed you would find out anyway though right?
Because most times Libraries aren't even aware when things get placed. And no, often times with Libraries there are blanket license deals that allow TV/Film clients to place hundreds or even thousands of tracks under one collective fee.
Hey Jesse, Thanks for the advice. I recently got into my first music library and they offered $0 pay upfront, 50% publisher share, 30% sync fee. Would you say that’s a decent deal for a first timer into this industry? Their clients are mostly American tv shows and some international shows….and been in this industry 15+ years
The fact that they're giving you 50%of the publisher's share is great! That's actually almost unheard of so yes I'd feel that's a very fair deal. Hope you get some placements with them!

Gems. 4 new libraries I started working with shut down within a year. I’ve decided to stop giving so many new libraries a chance. 😂😂😂
Wow, that's a lot! Were they all newer companies?
@@SyncMyMusic Yep. All less than 1-2 years old. Luckily, I got my music back and moved them to other libraries.

I'm joining sync edge this week!

That’s good to hear. Thanks for the response :)
@@SyncMyMusic Hey Jesse, I was also asked to sign a work for a hire agreement for 3 of my tracks…would you say that’s normal?
@@jnaramusic Are they allowing you to still keep your writer's share?
