'good guys' (well he's more of a sympathetic bad guy), he has NO qualms about killing that snot-nosed kid we all wish would die but usually never does b/c games won't kill kids usually. Throwing the harpoon at that kid was based, I don't think Clive would have done that. Idk children in video games are always so annoying and they never let you kill them - I'm not a psycho irl
Essentially, you can tell if someone's in control of their Eikon if their eyes are glowing blue. If their eyes are glowing yellow, that means they're not in control.
When Clive turned into Ifrit, Jill's expression must have meant a lot because she knew how much Clive struggled to control his power and try to turn into Ifrit all these times (Which Clive kept on saying to her, how "the burden falls on her". At that moment he successfully turned, protecting everyone, an accomplishment like no other.) I love the progression of your facial expression as the boss fight progresses. It is indeed amazing. And I agree with you how Joshua is way too nice to Anabella lol. And Clive and Jill were such compassionate persons, they wanted to bury the Bearers they know nothing about, and basically strangers, properly, yet they don't bother to even say anything about Anabella, which sure means *a lot*

I've been watching different people's stream reactions to certain big moments and yours has become my favorite playthrough BY FAR. To the point I don't just skip to the big moments, I watch the whole thing for your reactions to the smaller side quests and side characters too. The way you take the time to get to know all the lore and understand each character, their relationships and motivations... it's exactly what I want a streamer to do. Watching someone play a game isn't fun. Watching someone react to a game and EXPERIENCE it... is. Sitting there talking out theories with your chat, reading the lore... and I love how no one in your chat tries to spoil anything for you. It's just been a joy to watch you play the game overall and appreciate all the finer details... can't wait for more 🙂
I don't think I realized this until more recent viewings of this scene, but much how Ifrit was pulled from Clive at Phoenix Gate, I strongly believe that Ultima pulled Bahamut out of Dion the moment he said Kinslayer..
Olivier was very much a real child, just one that was completely overtaken by Ultima. To the point that the original Olivier was basically already dead. It was just a meat puppet for Ultima.
Ultima basically took over Olivier when he was younger, he did to him what he wants to do to Clive. Strip him off his while and take his body. Olivier was just a normal kiddo minding his bussiness until Ultima interfered.
Just the sense of Urgency you feel while running toward Joshua and Dion and just the pure HATRED that you feel towards Anabelle shows how good of a job they did with the characters in this game and how these characters even the NPC have a hold on your emotions. Because all those enemies annoyed the hell out of me too, like MOVE OF THE WAY GODDAMIT. And Anabelle got off too easy IMO lol
The thematic story telling of Clive never being able to summon Ifrit on command, until the moment he needs to shield his brother and does it without any words spoken.
I love how my two favorite Eikons are Dark and Light and aside from Ifrit Risin are the strongest eikons. Dark and Light are always so cool in any game ive played.
I love the Titan Lost and Bahamut fights because when the battles are over, we feel relief that they're over. Not because the battles are boring, but because we made it. We beat them. We survive. It's over while feeling goosebumps all over. What a game.
Love how after Clive sees Dion's flashback he awakens with so much more sympathy for him, and *instantly* goes to pick up him (while before he's like "Ugh seriously Joshua? Well, sure.)
All final fantasy games from now on should have this same controls and combat system. It’s by far the best imo. I also loved the active time lore and the tomes by Hypocrates. The story was such an epic tale.
Dion is great because you can tell they made his character BEFORE going: "So...lets make him gay!" So many gay characters suffer from people only caring about representation over making a genuinely interesting character. I absolutely love Dion.

During your fight with the White dragon when you said, "What was that?" It was heatwave countering a projectile as soon as he fired it at you -- it does more hits when you use it as a counter against projectiles (though i don't think it works against beams), kind of like Rook's Gambit when used to counter a physical attack
I can say, on a story telling basis, I'm really happy Square and Yoshi P didn't pull a Disney and say that Annabelle was an evil Step Mom. With that, our disgust of her character is much more genuine considering the atrocities she's pulled throughout this game along with her reasonings behind them.
Won't lie this was amazing...woulda been better if the Mrs wasn't sat with a face like a slapped ass because I was playing it at midnight and the fight just refused to end 😂

You can definitely say Olivier was beyond dead. He was akashic, an undead corpse, which is why he dissipated into dust as soon as he was slain.
