Reasoning being unlimited might be a bad move cuz it'll unleash a whole lot of annoying mill decks. Monster gate is more reasonable cuz it has a cost and you special summon a monster that can special summon.
I'm here for the annoying mill decks! But I agree the Monster Gates unlimiting would be more balanced. I honestly selected Reasoning due to the massive reprints from RC.
Limiting D barrier doesn't really change much. Should just be banned, the card is still searchable as it's a normal trap or can be sent to gy and then roll back'd by decks like lab. As for regular decks that side d barrier they anyway just play thrust for it with 1 d barrier. Card should have never existed and just deserve the ban anyway. At the difference other floodgates were less searchable and actually played at 3 even outside of stun.
D-Barrier is extremely strong and being searchable has made it pretty much a consistent turn 1 set. I agree it could definitely be banned if they want to follow suit with Artifact Scythe.
With malice and ryzeal i cna see D barrier being hit sadly. Against multi type extra decks its not that strong [because you can only hit 1 type] but in a single type deck, its extremely potent. However, its the one card that can potentially stop things like yubel and hurt snake-eyes fiendsmith by hitting their fusion/links
That's why I wonder if it won't stay at 1 for a Thrust target but still not as consistent to draw with every deck siding them. As mentioned, it was useful against Yubel and such but wasn't the go to. It does not hit links, which is why it's still unbanned imo. But with decks like Ryzeal only playing xyz, this cards an easy counter to it.
Could see Phantom of Yubel getting Limited along with Engraver and Kashtira Unicorn; the latter being for the same reason it was semi-limited: being able to wreck an extra deck without any real drawback hurts
I could see these as well. Phantom at 3 is strong and Unicorn is absolutely on the chopping block this next list. It would be more of a surprise if it isn't.
I honestly heavily debated this card. I could see konami hitting it simply to shift players to a new meta deck but the deck would absolutely be dead after that.
Shavara to 3 man. Same logic that you used for the Naturia trap card. Got hit to so considering the cards that came out made a deck tier zero for the better part of a year. Shavara to three only helps out unchained as other decks only play one to get a trap of it so it wouldn’t help out yubel which Konami doesn’t want as they want to sell Maliss and ryzeal. Makes sense for it to come back on all fronts.
More Called By does not solve the handtrap wars issue. All it does it is forcing people to play MORE handtraps. I implore everyone to think about it more in-depth. Does more Called By suddenly make a board breaker beat a Yubel board? No. It just shifts the odds in favour for the t1 player and the t2 has to adjust by playing even more.
No card ban 🤔 for me : Ban : the link 2 moon, barrier dim, prospe and protos limited : Fenrir and licorn kashtira, the kash field, TTT, Chundra, Summon sorceress errata, heavy storm, drident zodiac, master peace, saber invoker, zenmaity and phantom of yubel semi limited : gold sarcophagus, gamma, change of heart and zoo raptier unlimited : chicken game, the dragon rulers, cyber jarre, pankratops, lunalight tiger, dark grepher, morphing jar, jackalope and tsushinoko
I used to do similar lists with cards like cyber jar still being hit while moon links floating around. But Konami "saves" cards for later lists to be more desirable (like zoodiacs) and doesn't ban cards like moon because they dump it in an OTS a month prior. I agree most these changes mentioned balance the game out but that is NEVER how a banlist operates when Konamis in charge and has radically influenced how I make my prediction lists.
I love Kash as a control build and agree the Unicorn effect puts combo in check. Bystials though are literally 1 card outs to older decks like Eldlich. that you can run 9+ of. I do not believe they expand the creative part of the game in the slightest.
