I think you are genuinely one of the best educators from a medical field I've ever seen! I'm probably 40 years off needing any implants (hopefully never) but I still find you talking about implant dentistry absolutely fascinating - you should be a must watch for anybody getting this sort of work done (patient and dentist!)

Thanks for the presentation! I have a month old zirconia over zirconia prostheses with long face and just realized that sometimes I grind my teeth only on my left side closest to one of my implant. I don’t want to break my new arches. Do I have to order custom made night guard or I can get one from Amazon? Appreciate your response.
A custom one would be a better bet for a proper fit. I wish you a lifetime of success and comfort with your new prostheses 😊

What should I, as a person with gum disease, do before implants? Should I take off the tooth, then go to periodontist, take out the infection, and then go for implants? Or I should go to the ortondontist to treat the gums while the teeth are in place, then take out the teeth, and then go fir implants? Appreciate your help 🙏
@@user-qs1dh1ie9o It really depends on the severity of the periodontal disease. In many cases, we extract teeth and place implants the same day. In other patients we do a "deep cleaning" with local anesthesia. In patients with severe disease we extract the teeth and the patient wears dentures for three months, then we place implants. What about Zr upper and metal ceramic lower.
Same as zirconia against zirconia. And, metal/ ceramic really is no longer used for fit and cost reasons.
3 questions. Are heavy metals absorbed by the human body? If so, how long does it take to absorb into human tissue? And if so, do we know the long term side effects? As far as my research on this subject, heavy metals are absorbed and the long term side effects are that of dementia and Alzheimer's. It would seem to me, that ceramics are the best option after all these new discoveries. However one more even better new discovery, stem cells regrowing teeth.
