Thanks Tammy for sharing "how to color crushed glass". It is going to be very helpful. The colors that you shared are outrageous. Love how you explained the steps along with the "don't s". Very understandable
Brilliant Brunette disguised in BLONDE MOMENTS first off I love your name lol secondly I put them in a zip lock bag I side of another zip lock bag to ensure I don't get impaled by glass lol. If you do that you will be fine and nothing will fly at you! 😁
Tammy I'm SO HAPPY I found your channel! Wonderful idea! I'm new at the resin making. I was a card maker/scrap booker, etc., for over 20 yrs, then made soap, and now I want to learn to pour and use resin. I have 2 vases full of those marble things, and I have a ton of alcohol inks and mica's. (I know mica's can't be used for this but it can be put in resin) I can make a ton of colors. Your a good instructor and I know I will learn a lot from you. I started by just wanting to know what resin flooding was. I'm so bored staying in the house because of the Pandemic, so I will be out tomorrow, smashing glass on the sidewalk! My neighbors are going to think "there she goes, she lost her mind!" lol, but they know I do a lot of different art projects. We're all going stir crazy at this point. Better to be safe than get the virus though, and this will keep me busy. I have everything I think to follow and make one of your projects. I CAN'T WAIT! :) Thank you again. Thumbs UP!
Thank you for the great tutorial. I live in a smaller town and can't access a lot of crushed glass but have now discovered that I can use the glass marbles which I can get at dollar stores. Never knew you could use alcohol inks, got those. Going to have fun
I Am just learning about geodes and glass and I really like your way of explaining and teaching. I am learning a lot from you and I appreciate your sharing your experiences, thank you. I'm subscribed.
I put mine in a zip lock bag add a squirt of paint then shake up like I’m flouring chicken. And bam you have colored stones....let dry on paper towel...........although the ink looks good too. Love you Tammy. Pam Voss
Oh my goodness! I was just wondering about doing coloring. Like, just today. Low and behold, I found this wonderful video that answers all my questions, and then some! It's like you read my mind. Last year. (LOL!) Thank you for this!
TheMidgeymidge oh your going to have every color under the sun. Just a warning it's very addictive and then once you start blending colors, look out lol
I’ve used acrylic ink too. It doesn’t make sparkly ones, but it colours very well and they don’t stick together at all. A little glitter in with the ink makes them awfully pretty.
Wandering Art it is and you can make so many unique colors by blending 2 different colors together especially the gold and silver mixative colors with let's say for instance a blue. You get such an amazing effect. Your geodes will truly be one of a kind! Thanks for your support 😙
Hi Tammy! I watch all your paint pouring videos and I'm also subscribed to your resin channel. I typed a question in Google and was so happy it suggested this video. I understand you were creating the glass for a geode so you may not have noticed but I'm trying to find out if using alcohol ink dulls the sparkle of the glass like in light. I know you will help if you can. You are such a wonderful teacher
Wow thanks Tammy you're so good at explaining things. I have the plum alcohol ink so I was excited to see what it looked like on the glass! I also have the gold alcohol ink and was wondering if it would have the metallic shine. It's hard to find the crushed glass in a variety of colours.
Awesome!! I really need to dye some tomorrow the same color blue that you showed! Question: will the dye bleed under epoxy? So you need to seal it? Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Since the ink has alcohol in it, will the crushed glass be flammable after you pour resin on them? I used a torch to get rid of air bubbles and do not want to start a fire.
@Capistrano Decor save alot of money and enable you to have every color combination of crushed glass known to mankind lmaooo becareful it's super addictive.
Marion Kachel you can also make your own alcohol inks. There are videos explaining how. It's basically putting some rubbing alcohol in a bottle and then you pull apart a sharpie marker and put the Ink parts into the bottle. Search on TH-cam and give it a try😁 use the words diy alcohol inks
I am still trying to find out if alcohol ink coloured stones will fade in sunlight as my alcohol ink on tiles did. I am experimenting at the moment and have put a selection of stones I have coloured in resin which has a UV inhibitor in it. This will sit outside to see what happens to them.
Awesome Tammy! :D Now I can color my dollar tree stones! I don't have alchol inks, and wow, I already did buku shopping this weekend, so I do know that you can make alcohol ink from sharpies..probably a mess to do..but I'm going to give it a whirl. lols *sips coffee* I just watched a couple of vids to make alcohol ink..while the homemade ones are a little bit of a mess to do, and probably not as vibrant as just buying alcohol ink..I live in the middle of nowhere, and already drove over to Michaels on the coast, and..I have plenty of sharpies and bic permanent markers, so that's why I'll be doing it that way. lols I already spent soo much..maybe in the future I can just buy the alcohol ink.
I boiled them twice for an enormous amount of time, they would not break, I hammered them and they still wouldn't break. so...l put my oven on broil and cooked the you know what out of them and magic happened... it was a lot of fun!
Did you throw them into ice water right after you took them out of the boiling water? It is alot of fun. You can make so many colors. Thank you for watching❤🤗😘
I was curious because you said you boiled them? Did you boil like as in water or did you put them in empty frying pan with lid and let them cook ,(so to speak🙂lll) Then put them in ice bath? They'll immediately begin the cracking sound!
Hello, I am new to all of this but I am very excited to learn and experiment! So I am just curious, why is it important to crack the glass first before you start hammering? Can you not just start hammering? Or does that help it to not be too sharp?🤔 Also I often times break wine glasses trying to wash them in the dishwasher; is it possible to use that glass to color and smash? Thanks for the tips!💖
I wondered how to to color the glass ..thank you for this video!! Will the Bombay inks we use in our resin pours work too, or does it have to be alcohol inks?
Brilliant Brunette disguised in BLONDE MOMENTS Bombay inks are made using concentrated acrylic pigments abd are more of an opaque color whereas alcohol inks are made using an alcohol based ink and are more transparent. I think that's it lol don't quote me tho. Bombay I do know do not have any alcohol in them.
Brilliant Brunette disguised in BLONDE MOMENTS Google says one is a pigment and one is a dye...so whatever the difference between a pgment and a dye is would be the answer..lmao
Andrea Morin I tried them tonight and they didn't run for me. I'm making a video too show which ones did and which ones didn't. The calligraphy ones and the fountain pen colors bled like a bitch but the liquitex magenta acrylic ink and the Bombay red violet India ink did not at all.
Tisey Barker I just did a test and Bombay inks work and so do acrylic inks. You just have to make sure they're good and dry before you put them in the resin
Thank you so much. This is a very old video and I wasn't quite used to filming. Things have changed tremendously lol. I will say I was using alcohol inks to color the stones. Ranger brand. Just drop a few drops at a time until you get the color your aiming for. ❤🤗😘

Edie Wood thank you so much!😙❤🤗
wooo.. can't wait to try this. they are beautiful. thanks Tammy
Brilliant. I heat and smash them also but never thought to color them with the inks. Thank you for sharing!!! Game changer.
TheMidgeymidge oh your going to have every color under the sun. Just a warning it's very addictive and then once you start blending colors, look out lol
I did almost exactly this to paint gravel for gravel art, love seeing that it’s actually a “thing”, lol!
I’ve used acrylic ink too. It doesn’t make sparkly ones, but it colours very well and they don’t stick together at all. A little glitter in with the ink makes them awfully pretty.
Wow thanks for sharing......... quick question, I’ve heard alcohol inks fade and idk how true that is.....how do seal it…."?
Great vid, I like your descriptions, you make it look easy. The projects you do are beautiful, thank you. Beautiful
So beautiful! I love your creativity!!! You make the most amazing art! 🔥🔥🔥
This is awesome much better than having to buy so many colors!!!
Wandering Art it is and you can make so many unique colors by blending 2 different colors together especially the gold and silver mixative colors with let's say for instance a blue. You get such an amazing effect. Your geodes will truly be one of a kind! Thanks for your support 😙

MaryJanes Trips yes it does keep the shine! Both the silver and gold!
Awesome!! I really need to dye some tomorrow the same color blue that you showed! Question: will the dye bleed under epoxy? So you need to seal it? Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Hi Tammy, thank you for the tutorial. You've been a great teacher from the start up!! XOXOXO
I love this idea. Great video. I’m going to dollar tree tomorrow. I have to try this😊😊😊😊😊👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Since the ink has alcohol in it, will the crushed glass be flammable after you pour resin on them? I used a torch to get rid of air bubbles and do not want to start a fire.
Great ideas! Tammy . You were highly recommended by Petra. I just subscribed and look forward to your amazing work. Truly inspirational . Thank you!
Rommel Lozano wow thank you so much and I thank Petra also. She is a wonderful artist .

Thank you !!! We will save a lot of $$ with your tip !!! Love it
@Capistrano Decor save alot of money and enable you to have every color combination of crushed glass known to mankind lmaooo becareful it's super addictive.
I reversed it cold to blow torch no smell love your videos
Very helpful, though I do not have any alcohol inks. Wonder if transparent acrylic ink works. Super 👍
Marion Kachel I have not tried that but if you do let me k ow how it goes😁
Marion Kachel you can also make your own alcohol inks. There are videos explaining how. It's basically putting some rubbing alcohol in a bottle and then you pull apart a sharpie marker and put the Ink parts into the bottle. Search on TH-cam and give it a try😁 use the words diy alcohol inks
Thank you for taking the time to figure out how this is done. ♡
Preciosa Flower your very welcome. That's what I'm here for😙
I am still trying to find out if alcohol ink coloured stones will fade in sunlight as my alcohol ink on tiles did. I am experimenting at the moment and have put a selection of stones I have coloured in resin which has a UV inhibitor in it. This will sit outside to see what happens to them.
Kate Smith let me know how it goes. I have some that have been sitting for 8 months and no change yet but those are in the resin
I will certainly keep you informed as to what happens to them. I really hope they don't fade as the colours are beautiful 😃
Thank you so much! I have some coloured glass from Michaels but the colours aren’t very bright. I’ll be brightening them up today!
Thanks so much for sharing , what a great idea
Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can’t wait to make my own!

jofish420 I've made alcohol inks also using Sharpie markers. It can be a little messy but wear gloves and have fun they do work
Thank you love it’s where do you buy the alcohol ink
Do you have a video on how yo make the geodes? Thank you
Beautiful, thanks Tammy!
Deb Cook thank you very much 😁❤

I did , they must have been super strong I even put a pile of ice in the water ...broiling them for 15 minutes worked well
@@karazieglertheartcollectiv3826 you must have bought kryptonite 🤣🤣🤣
I was curious because you said you boiled them? Did you boil like as in water or did you put them in empty frying pan with lid and let them cook ,(so to speak🙂lll) Then put them in ice bath?

What type of container do you store your completed colored glass please?
So beautiful! And thank you so much! ☺️
No...thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my video and to comment. I truly appreciate it.😙💜🤗
If the resin I put around it has acrylic paint in it will that ruin the color?
Great video, I will be smashing away!
Leah Kilgore I swear I have every color under the rainbow. I went and bought 20 bags of clear stones and was smashing for like 3 days straight lol
I promise, so will I!!! i burst out laughing when you were talking about artists have to have tons of everything. I am running out of space!
Leah Kilgore I had to get my sister to store stuff at her house uts gotten so bad lol
Could you use crushed mirror the same way
I wondered how to to color the glass ..thank you for this video!! Will the Bombay inks we use in our resin pours work too, or does it have to be alcohol inks?
Ann Corpe I've never tried the Bombay inks. They may bleed once they touch the resin.
Brilliant Brunette disguised in BLONDE MOMENTS Bombay inks are made using concentrated acrylic pigments abd are more of an opaque color whereas alcohol inks are made using an alcohol based ink and are more transparent. Ann, I tried Bombay ink and it ran in the resin.

Jacqueline Lopez you are very welcome😁
Beautiful, Thank you!
Thank you for watching❤
That’s awesome!!!! Question can you do the same thing only using India inks instead of alcohol inks?
Tisey Barker I have not tried but will do some now and report back to you!😁
Tisey Barker I just did a test and Bombay inks work and so do acrylic inks. You just have to make sure they're good and dry before you put them in the resin
tammy anderson thank you sooo much!!! 😊
Thank you so much Tammy 😍
Thanks Tammi!
Nice 💕💕💕👌🏼
Ty so much ❤
Thank you!
thanks for sharing but you really need to adjust your camera I could not see any of the products you use except the glass marbles
Thank you so much. This is a very old video and I wasn't quite used to filming. Things have changed tremendously lol. I will say I was using alcohol inks to color the stones. Ranger brand. Just drop a few drops at a time until you get the color your aiming for. ❤🤗😘
How do you make black
😘 Thank you 👌
Thank you so much for sharing that information needed to further my art work X0XOX
Canadian kryptonite Too funny
💯👍🏽‼😁
We can’t see what your doing
I still think, boiling them in a crockpot would be very convenient not smell and work better but no one will answer me. Has anyone tried it
Your use of the terms fractured and broken is making my toe hurt!!!
Andrea Morin oh no I'm sorry . Here's a kiss for your broken toe lol
💞New SUBBIE💞💥
Thank you but this was way too long
