Hey, don't mind the comments about the english-skills. The point gets across fine, and overall it's very useful and interesting interview. Thanks a bunch man!
thank you for doing this I don't know if you noticed but yours and Fengs audio are not on par with each other so to fix it you might want to higher his or lower yours
IKR! let me interview Feng! i wont ask these lame cliche questions like "whats its like being a concept artist?" really? ask hard hitting questions like where did he start? where does he draw most of his inspiration? how does he get over a creative block? how many freelance gigs does he take at one time? whats his salary?
Misterix, you are a viewer, yes? I didn't realize this as I posted the thank you comment at around 40 minutes into the video, so: where is the source of this video from? Thank you for sharing with me.
Yeah i could see your point. But i think good design is an on going process that can never be completed. i don't see many original concepts in to many art fields but it is a business and deadlines need to be met.
"be professional" - this statement is one thing that i hate about people these days. being "PROFESSIONAL" is somewhat of a self applaude. people should learn being LESS professional, mainly in speed. people overestimate speed so damn much. i'm lightning fast but honestly i hate the fact that designers NEED to be fast in order to get paid. not saying lazy but as things go faster and faster quality lacks !
you're referring to the quality of the drawing. i was talking about the quality of ideas. drawing fast has nothing to do with bad quality drawings or paintings, on the contrary, as you sad. but the diversity of ideas is compromised because of fast rushed 80-85% mostly copied decision making, just to keep track of competition and time. these days only 1% of the games are really though through. i hope i was more explicit this time
Thanks for the interview, however, your interviewing needs drastic improvement. You are unclear in asking the questions (which are mainly a repetition of what the audience questions are), imputing too much of your own advice/opinion (it's an interview for FZ, not you), and you are distracting and obviously lost focus in the middle of the interview with your mouse clicking and summarizing things that doesn't really make sense. And what was with 45:57 "yes, yes, breast." ?????
That is not true at all, Speed is something you develop as a designer over time with practice and "know how" . If anything many young designers think craft and professionalism goes out the window. I have seen incredibly fast designers with quality work. you just need to keep up your work and practice! (I know, shocking)
I like Feng very much as a person also. He's always calm, explains very well and he's always so inspiring and full of energy.
Really interesting interview and inspiring. Feng Zhu is a great man an artist for sure.
Thanks for share it.
Javier
Thank you so much Alexander. Feng you're legend.

Feng Zhu is a really good designer and really a great teacher. I wish the interviewer should just ask questions. Dont have to have any input.
15:36 he calls him Zen LOL
Martin Daskalov XDDDD LMAO
Oh my god, the interviewer is painful to listen to.
I couldn't watch the video at all for the same reason
He is Russian I guess :D
How come so many videos with Feng have soo fucked up quality, like that can't be just a coincidence

That depends very much on your skill level. You need to be fast while maintaining a high quality level, after all it's an industry
He keeps calling him an artist, Feng was wincing at that.

Oh god Feng is like a statue... damn.

clicking was pissing me off, its like me talking to my girlfriend when i dont wanna talk to her, i would do other stuff and keep clicking
