If you know how to drape ur saree properly you don't need to wear an overly fitted peticoat to look slim. Also in Indian functions we very often have to sit down on the floor for rituals and it's uncomfortable to sit in a tight peticoat.
True..i never felt discomfort in regular peticoat..it's so easy to seat in it and relax ur legs.. Fitted peticoat..will it be possible to seat comfortably..it just a glamor for figure and all

ill stitched fabric petticoat will make you bulky. Get a stitched petticoat from the tailor that's stitched by sewing together vertical (frustum shape) pieces of cloth (like a lehenga is stitched). Those don't make you look bulky. Wrap the saree snugly and tada! Only works if you're slim though. Those shapewear petticoats are hard to tuck saree in and keep them in their place (because heels and saree means less saree to tuck in and the saree keeps slipping out from behind)
You can wear benarasi saree, kanjivaram saree, dhakai jamdani or tant saree they are perfect for extremely slim body. And avoid Georgette saree or silk sarees or satin sarees.
Wearing a saree is an art, have seen women who wear saree all day and the saree is crease free after day functions. Current generation experience with saree is so less it will an age to reach that level

They will keep on riding up and settle as a bunch on your thighs and your entire evening will be ruined because your saree will look strange and walking of any kind becomes tough after that. Ps. Not giving hate on this lady. She's a wonderful content creator. I'm just sharing my experience on this particular one because not everyone has the same body type as the influencer you're following and sometimes even they don't know what people with plus sizes face because they may or may not have faced it themselves.

You don't have to sit on the floor, even sitting on a chair would move the material up, if you have pinned your saree pleats to it, then it's a total chaos.. looking slimmer is totally up to how skillfully you drape the saree, and pin-ning in the right position.

Shapewears are nice. But I'd reconsider the title of your video, and why you'd want to reinforce the thought that everybody should adhere to a particular body type. "Shapewear makes your saree look put-together and neat for a long time", a simple rephrasing of the title like that would make your content exponentially more inclusive
You should have ironed saree to look slim. Avoid cotton saree. Normal peticoat of correct size will never make you look fat. No need for shapewears, from personal experience
