I'm always amazed at the little hidden gems of bays and beaches you show us,great viewing.we are at the back of keppoch up from the arisaig skerries, heaven on earth.thanks for all the time and effort you put in
Thanks graham your comments are appreciated as it gives me a better view of what folks think of my efforts ..if I listened to the bigots only with their narrow viewpoint ..I would have stopped making the videos a long time ago..thanks again :-D
Here's a thing,,,as the youngsters say...don't like the music? Switch it off! Love the videos? Watch them! We cannot possibly all like the same music, but Donny, your videos are so inspiring, and so well produced that they give us all a true breathtaking view of wherever you are touring... Thank you for all the immense effort you put into your videos which give pleasure to so many.
Thanks Colin I appreciate your comments. For info on music, I used to use some very famous artists in my early videos, example Jean Michael Jarre and Lorenna McKennit and even had a couple of trolls back then saying what terrible music I was using for my videos. I can also add that for 12 years I played keyboards (paid but hobby only) in a 4 person band at weekends in some of the roughest pubs and clubs in the Alloa and Stirling area. As such I am well used to some folks complaining but also many more enjoying our performance. Therefore I realise no matter what I do or play someone is not going to like it. The drone song didnt take me long to write the lyrics which are intended to be humourous ..and by its very name "drone song" was intended to drone on. I generally keep a theme song for all videos in the same box set so kept it going. I was inspired to write it by a very famous little earworm song called "dont Worry .. Be happy" th-cam.com/video/d-diB65scQU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BobbyMcFerrinVEVO. Millions love it but Im sure there are a few that hate it. The drone song has three simple chords as does this song.. and both have a similar reggae rhythm ..but I do it my own way. I confess there has been times I think ..why go to the trouble of making these videos when there is always a troll lurking somewhere trying to shoot me down. However the kind comments from the majority of viewers and also meeting total strangers when using my boat, that come up to me and say.. "I love your videos Donny..dont ever stop making them." is why I continue to make them. Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement.
Good evening Donny! What could be nicer at the end of a long working day than being surprised by another new video from you. You are lucky to be surrounded from such a beautiful area. I enjoy your videos so much, they increase my inner longing for the sea. Isn't it a beautiful planet we are living on. I wish you all the best, especially health an a lot of good time out in the sea. Best regards from Vienna, Austria! Andreas
Hi Donny! It is really a great pleasure to lean back and watch one of your films after the other. And I sincerely envy you for all those trips and I would give a lot to visit one for the places you've already been, also sitting by the fire, silently looking at the sea and enjoying the stillness. Maybe with a little break to talk about boats ;)..While watching all your videos my inner mind and soul inhales the beauty of the landscape your are traveling through. Take care of you and I'm looking forward to your next adventure! Best regards, Andreas@@donnywilcox
Thanks again alan..appreciated. Yup..I prefer using my own music in the videos as that way I avoid copyright strikes and have the satisfaction I did everything in the video myself ..music .. photos ..footage..my viewpoint etc :-D
Donny, we love your videos & music. I think I even spotted a few extra places where you could have slotted the drone song in again. Videos such as your's have a great effect on some folk during tough times, such as lockdown or worse. Thanks for your continued efforts. Keep coming home with the crabs !
Hi again Ashley ..yup..you have watched enough of my videos to realise I sometimes like to fish ..but seldom catch much..I did get a couple Crabs this time round but as always ... I let them off the hook as its not worth keeping them :-D

Hi Donny, its Cazzy, still watching and loving your adventures. We continue to visit Scotland and tour the coast with all the knowledge we gained from you on our trips together. Keep doing what you do and keep inspiring everyone who sees your video's ❤
Hi again Cazzy ..delighted to hear from you and still watching. Last week I revisited some of the places we were at on Mull and some new places too ..so keep watching and your comments are always appreciated 😀
I remember my first drone landing on my sib 😳 Cut my fingers on the blades. Next time I put an anchor down and was a much more stable platform to land. If push come to shove and conditions for landing on a boat are going to be to hazardous, land on the shore and retrieve it. Great video Donny 👏👍
good advice 123boat .. i prefer taking off over the shore then going by boat and doing the drone stuff..that way I can hopefully hit return to home and it will obey me. I had no other issues at the other places so presume its still very stable assuming it doesnt loose gps behind cliffs etc :-D
@@donnywilcox Just sometimes these drones have little cliches which is very unnerving. I flew my drone at Brixham in Devon to get some footage of a friends fishing boat and very nearly lost it in the drink. At one point I was in two minds as to land it at Berry Head which was closer to where I was but made the decision to bring it back to myself with near fateful results . Thanks archie ..im just glad the hardest work I do now is go boating.. ten years retired and I still occasionally get nightmares from my past working life :-0
Beautiful views and landscape - the drone song is humourous, if something of an acquired taste. I do have an idea however, maybe we could have a drone song from the drone itself, something like 'I am a drone, flying high in the sky, Iona is below, yet onwards I go' and so on, preferably with a high pitched voice? 😄
I keep looking for fish moving in your aerial shots, typically rays, and am surprised that nothing has shown up yet. Maybe one of these days. Like the look of the rock garden just wondering how i might possibly ever get there. I think caravan and boat onto Mull would be my only shot. Just loved the vid and the 3 waterfalls. Cheers
Great campsite on the Ross of Mull ..Fidden Campsite. I used to take the wee FRIB there by car and go round Iona and the Ross from there ..lots of videos of it in nice sunny weather..a few years back..but on the channel somewhere :-D
Its well worth the visit Kevin and as its on the tidal island of Erraid right of the tip of the Ross of Mull ..its very quiet ... as walkers dont often visit it in case they get caught by the tide :-D
Loved this video but I can't help feeling very jealous of your trips. I just don't have the courage to get out that far and stay out. I have started watching your video more closely now and I think the wide angle lens of the go-pro and other cameras you use make it appear you far out of land. I know you have to go out to sea to get to places but I think you hug the coastlines more that I first thought so if anything did go wrong your not that far from safety .As far as your drone is concerned we both have the same drone. I lost mine in Lochlinnhe and DJI were very generous to replace it for me. Then a few weeks later I lost the second on Lochetive at Taynuilt This time it only took DJI 2 day to get another mini 3 pro with lots of apologies and a few free gifts again. They told me that they did not know why it behaved in the way it did. For me this gives me conference in the company and the staff ( Joe Brown from The Netherlands was amazing ) he works for DJI. Grey sky and grey water can confuse humans never mind drones lol. Loved the video footage of your camera and the drone thanks again for the enjoyment you share with us, Ray K UK YNWA.
Thanks Ray,.. just remember I have had a lifetime of doing these trips so not much can fluster me, but you are absolutely correct.. I do enjoy being close to shore as you see much more than travelling fast well off shore. I always take a note of the last safe place to land when touring along cliffs so I know how far to go back for safety if something should happen . Yup..i too was impressed by DJI refresh care service..no questions asked and got my replacement 4 days later. Hopefully this one will last long enough for me to grow out it and perhaps get one with a better camera..like the mavic classis..but drone law changes may put me off them ..who knows ?
