I passed the CPC test this weekend, thank you Mr. Nguyen, I followed your strategies and tips, it was a success! I will still follow you, to code with you! Thank you so much! 💕💕 For the test, I’d like to share some of my experiences: 1) The test was easier than what I expected, but it’s easy to get wrong, please read the questions and codes very very carefully, especially the ( ) indication underneath the CPT code; 2) I had the exam online, Part 1 and Part 2, it took me almost 20 mins to set up with the proctor each time, but, the exam only starts after set-up (even past the scheduled time); the proctors are nice; 3) Make sure you aim for 30 questions per hour; 4) I’ve done 7 practice exams in one month, then I found Mr. Nguyen before the exam, followed his strategy! Practice. I started very slow, then I did 7 practice exams (twice each),aiming 30 questions in 1 hour. The exam allows 43 questions wrongs, most of them are easy, but you have to guess a couple of questions by using Mr. Nguyen’s strategy when you are running out of time. Also I wrote many notes on some easy-get-wrong CPT codes, for example 98925 (OMT), don’t count how many lesions, only how many regions. You can do it, good luck❤️

I had just re-taken the CPC exam last weekend as I had failed the first time by 1 pt :( I was very disappointed the first time after spending money on a prep course. Then I found Mr. Nguyen videos on youtube and his tips and strategies really helped me on my exam this time around and I definitely felt awesome coming out of the test this time. I got my result today and I passed! I can't thank you enough for all your help!

@@codingwithhoang thanks appreciate that. I want to know how to know what CPT code/s to use based on an icd10cm code. That is next on my list . I completed the aapc online medical billing course and passed , waiting to take the cpb exam. In the meantime I found I like the coding aspect better than billing so I am using Bucks step by step coding book and I have the ICD10 cm and CPT books from aapc , came with the medical billing course so I have a small amount of knowledge of coding from the billing course. Your method is excellent.
@@rickki6 You want to learn to be a coder not a biller, remember that. The book that you are using now is a good book. You have to assign CPT code(s) based on the operative report and the ICD-10-CM code based on the final diagnosis. The diagnosis sometimes will give a clue if your CPT IS correct or not. For example, Let say you assign a CPT code for excision of malignant skin cancer but your diagnosis code is a benign skin lesion and the bill will be denied because the diagnosis code doesn't support the procedure performed. I hope it makes sense to you.

I'm taking my exam online on December 17&18 I bought all the practice exams but your videos are such a big help I don't know what I would do without you thank you so much! Do you have any advice on how to work on timing? I noticed when I focus on time I get a lower score, when I focus on the score then I much slower and Im worried I won't have enough time to answer all the questions... Hi Stara, you should practice on the practice exams that you purchased using my tips and strategies. You need to finish them all and while you are doing this , remember to highlight codes or write notes in your book so next time when you come across these procedures again, you will be faster. I went and double checked on your student's channel. It shows that I've subscribed!
I did not pass the exam ....missed by 2 marks. Having problem with the speed. Used your strategies and that helped a lot. But, couldn't finish the paper. I had almost 35 questions left. So, I just had to make guess. If only I had got 2-3 guesses right , I would have cleared. Can you help me with tips on working faster and how to make better guess please?
@@saikulkarni7338 Given the fact that you still had 35 questions left and only missed by 2 points, you did fairly well. My advice for you is that on those questions relating to A&P, reimbursement, rules and regulations, either you know or you don't so you should not spend more than 1.5' on those, then you have enough time for other and longer questions. Now you need to look at the result and find out what part that you did not do well and focus on those areas. Try to remember and jot down any questions on the exam that you have never heard and see if you could remember. You will be fine next time. The first attempt is just for your experiment to identify what your strength and weakness are then you can work on it for the next time.
I'm not getting any younger I'm closer to 60 and I need to have all he confidence and knowledge I can get to pass so I don't get bullied and get a better job and get paid not under 30K./year. I worked so hard and seems like I'm not getting anywhere.
You have to be proud of yourself that you still can learn and keep your mind sharp as age 60. You can do it; slowly but surely you'll get there. Only looser will bully you for what you are trying. Keep going forward and don't look back.
