My current ride a 2021 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 LT, that is my second favorite bike I've ever ridden and my absolute favorite cruiser I've ridden. It's the best all around cruiser bike period. I bought a cherry 2009 900 Classic LT with 3752 miles on the clock two years ago. It had over 16,000 miles on it when I put it on the battery tender for the winter of 2018-19. It had a Mustang seat on it when I bought it.....most of them end up with one eventually. The only thing I've done to it is change oil and replace worn tires. We have a 2018 H-D Tri Glide Ultra, too, as the wife is not comfortable on two wheels. We put 5000 miles on it this year, but to me the Vulcan is a more comfortable ride. They are a GREAT bike!

  • @mr.solitude3352
    @mr.solitude3352 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    You're absolutely correct, Sean. I'm taller than you, and the bike feels roomier than a VXT1300. The forward foot pegs are probably one of the reasons why. It's a 900cc that feels larger to ride than some other cruisers with larger engines. It is also geared low. So if you're riding the highway in 5th gear, you'll feel like you want to gear up. It revs high, but it feels like it was built to ride that way.

  • @nonaubiz8939

    I used to swear AT my old HD because it kept breaking down, but now I swear BY Kawis. I've had many over the years and can testify as to their reliability/dependability. I recently put 5k miles on my 2008 Kawi Vulcan Classic LT and had absolutely NO problems whatsoever. It easily pulled my wife, me, and a few weeks worth of gear up the Rocky's and even though it was late September/early October and cold, windy, and a lot of rain it gave us a great ride the entire time. Whoever buys this bike, you will NOT regret it. NO doubt that Sean has it for sale at a fair price as well.

    • @jeffruebens8355
      @jeffruebens8355 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out the Yammie Noob 2 videos covering Consumer Reports magazine survey results for reliability for motorcycles. 1 to 5 in order from more reliable to less reliable are Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, then Harley-Davidson. They do not break it down for each model like cars, because they use real statistics (instead of dishonest misleading crap like JD Power ads) and the science lets you know when the sample size is big enough for more details that are significant (note that I have a masters degree in a science, and took a 'sadistics' class) so I know what is scientifically accurate and what is dishonest and misleading better than some crappy marketing.

    • @nonaubiz8939
      @nonaubiz8939 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffruebens8355 Ever since Yammie Douche crashed a SECOND awesome Triumph Daytona in less than a year, almost killing someone, and then e-begged for money for HIM and not so much as an apology to the driver he almost killed with his absolute stupidity. The reliability of bikes changes all the time depending on who paid for it and who looked at the data, and what they were actually looking at when they did. Harley is always one of the worst for reliability; most break downs needing expensive repairs etc. Forty or Fifty years ago we used to call Yamaha...Yamahahahaha, because we would laugh at the poor fool that would buy those garbage (back then) bikes, they certainly have come a long way. Honda almost always places at the top of the list, however and Kawis are always somewhere near the top. What is your Master's in? Mine is in microbiology, research thesis was with air-borne pathogens. I had a year of 'prob and stats' myself. Ride safe.

    I learned on my old mans 07’ c90se Suzuki Boulevard. Once my pops found a great deal for me on a Vulcan 900, I was super hesitant and figured it was going to be too small... I was WRONG. Out of all the bikes I’ve owned and ridden, my 900 will be the forever bike and is a PERFECT starter, advanced and experienced riders bike. Now when ever I switch back and forth to the boulevard and the Vulcan, I’m like “woah... I actually learned on this beast? It’s sooo heavy!” Haha. Bought the Vulcan off an ex co worker. He was 6’1-6’2 ish. He loved it. I’m 5’6 and I love it. Taught many friends on my bike and even sold the style and dynamic style of it to a few buddies who went after similar bikes.

It was a bit of a learning curve coming from a Suzuki DR650, to riding the Vulcan, but by going off to a place where I could get to learn the change to riding, I was able to catch on fairly quickly. Don't recommend if you come from Enduro or Crotch Rocket to try and learn in traffic on the way home from the dealer.

    It's been years since that I rode one, but I'm now remembering looking at its tach and noticing that its red line landed somewhere around 7300-7500. Somewhat higher than many cruisers. Maybe a current owner can verify that. If that's the case, her engine's built to ride at higher revs than many cruisers.

It’s more comfortable to me. The S is more for a daily commute and a little fun in the twisties. The 900 just sit back and relax and look at the scenery and listen to that exhaust note. However at the end of the day my opinion is only an opinion and what you see and feel maybe different. Best of luck!

    @2:10 "incredibly light" ----> My reaction *WHAAAT?* 😂😂😂 Then you compare with 1300 and else and I was like oh okay but still tho its heavy. However, you dont feel it once you get used to it as I did. My brother and I own TWO same 900c but in metallic blue n silver tone. #waitingforspring

      I've loaned out my bike, they always compliment the lightness of its weight. It's the first thing people notice.

    • @mattsloop2736
      @mattsloop2736 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its light compared to other bikes in the same group with about the same power. The 900 is way more power than most 1100's so its lighter and quicker.

    But I hate to say, but I like the Vulcan 800s better. With the right pipes, it can sound like a Harley Davidson.

    I currently own a 2007 Honda VTX1300R and I'm considering buying a 2014 Kawasaki 900 Vulcan LT. I'm concerned and a little confused about going from a 1300 to 900. Any recommendations?

    I like a lot of things about this bike but my knees might be a little high on it which I've learned can be very uncomfortable. I might need to put on forward controls or raise the seat 2-3 inches if there's a way.

      What speeds do you do on the highway??? I plan on going 75mph, can this bike handle it?

    • @danf8047
      @danf8047 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      120km/h which is about 75mph.. It will get up there no problem but you'll find that it's buzzing and feel like the bike is really straining. My friend's Stryker does is effortlessly (obviously 900cc vs 1300cc...)

    I plan to get take my test and get my first motorcycle this year. I am interested in a cruiser, and I have no desire for a huge bike, but at 6’1” and 235 pounds, I am too big for a Rebel 250. This bike has power, is it too much for a new rider? I am in my 30’s, responsible, etc.

    • @spacebear49
      @spacebear49 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was in the same boat a few months ago. Similar size. I would say it's just right, power wise. You'll wish it has a 6th gear on the highway but otherwise great. But definitely not too much power either. Fun all around to ride.

    I know many people ask the same thing and it is probably annoying, but i have to ask. I cannot decide between vulcan 900 and vulcan s. They both have great specs, they are not very expencive and they are both beautiful.I am 6'6 and 240lbs and just getting into riding. Considering what you have said in this video, vulcan 900 seems to be perfect for me, but where I come from, vulcan s is more avaliable. Would you recommend vulcan s for someone my size? I am affraid it might look like I'm driving a toy...

      @@BananasMana That is exactly what I am affraid of, lookung like a bear on the scooter :D Until I sit on it, I can't know for sure, so that is what I'll do

    • @garrymiller2769
      @garrymiller2769 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 6'1", took the S for a ride and i feel its definitely too small. Got a cramp in my hip. They've made it possible to tweak the fit a bit, but its still a small bike. I've sat on a Vulcan 900 Custom, and liked that a lot better. I own a Honda CTX 700N and like that better than the S as well. Pretty sure you're not going to be happy with an S. Different power band going on there, compared to the 900 which has the low end torque characteristics you are going to need for your weight. Good luck deciding. Let us know!
