very good explanation and details not too fast, helped me see and know what and why im doing certain things to achieve specific outcomes. Thanks also for breaking down what a container does, and how to properly use the margins. Im older and not that smart, so detailed explanations help me alot. Ive been watching all your videos tonight...
Excellent, and timely, as I have a client requesting a page-builder. Thanks! One thing I would've loved to have seen is how Shogun works with products and collections, i.e., can I drop and drag or easily build components for 1-across, 2-across product displays, maybe cherry-picking the products by id, and, say, creating something like a media object with the product card as the media/image element of that media object. Well, you get the idea. But, great video, and I may sit down and use your video to explain what is doable or not doable with Shogun. Thanks, again! p.s. And your Skillshare tutorials are awesome. I heartily recommend them to web developers getting up to speed with how Shopify works!
HI Chris thanks for the video - it is full of great code tips. I have only found your video for Developing Custom Elements; do you have any further deeper dive videos for developers at all?
Thank you for the video! I’m having troubles:( When I upload an image, it cuts it off either on the side, bottom, or both even when I try to use 1080x1920 and 992x 1199 dimensions..
You are my fav currently! Great content! May i ask for some tips as a new developer but experienced in selling on multiple already built themes and wanting to sell services as a freelancer. What do you suggest to start selling services right away with very little programming knoweledge
by 'code' I'm gonna assume you mean 'course' or 'class'. In that case, the reason why it's marked as intermediate is because it's assumed you understand HTML and CSS first. The class is specific to developing on Shopify so you should know HTML and CSS first.
Great content Chris, I have struggled with finding a custom product page where you can select from a preselected group of products to build your own basket, what’s would your best approach to build something like this?
Thanks Ramachandra. I definitely have it in mind. In the meantime, I've written a few articles that might help you on the blog. christhefreelancer.com/blog
Question: Is there a way to copy the code from a website to use as a template and then edit in shogun from there? And is it feasible? I'm new to this thanks
Good question! Essentially, when you create a page using Shogun, you’ve just created a dependency on the app. If you turn off Shogun, you’ll lose the formatting of the page (as far as I know - haven’t tested it)
@@CodewithChristheFreelancer See the thing is, once I'm done designing my site using Shogun, I'm not going to change it much, I want a consistent look and feel. So once it's designed, I won't need Shogun active any more, why pay a monthly fee if I'm not using it. So I would just cancel it. But if my site stops working, then no sense is using Shogun.
@@gijeet5374 Thanks Gi Jeet. It's seems that the answer I gave you was in fact wrong. According to Shogun, the code will still work even after you uninstall the app See here: getshogun.com/help/en/articles/3978903-what-happens-to-my-pages-if-i-uninstall-shogun-on-shopify
Virtually everything effects website loading speed. The goal with speed optimisation is mainly to reduce the amount of processes and data being loaded on the page. As page builders carry with them a lot of their own processes, I would assume that they would negatively effect page speed to some extent. You can always test to find out the extend of which they slow down your site.
I have a question, if I hit publish in shogun to see the changes, it will only add the new shogun page to the active store, but it wont automatically publish the whole dublicated store right? Because I need the store to stay live and usable till the new one is finished. But if I publish just the shogun site, noone will find it if they dont guess the page slug right :D

@@CodewithChristheFreelancer thank you so much, and do i need to use shogun to edit all of my product? (i just need to add product tabs) or i can just choose the template once i finish with one product

Hi Chris, brilliant video. I am aiming to become a shopify developer/freelancer, would freelance opportunities (developing stores for clients) still be popular if i were to learn shogun as the main tool to develop these sites? thank you
Hi Josh. I think learning Shogun could help. I've only had to use it once for one client. You could always offer it as a service but I've found most sites I've worked on have been built without it.
There are quite a few Shopify "developers" out there using this or Pagefly but if you want to be making theme edits that most clients want then learn to code front end languages and liquid code.
I just wanna say, I LOVE YOU CHRIS!

This is amazing! Will use this as another tool in my tool box for clients!
you can make a video based on how to make a slider in shogun page builder
So awesome! Great vid. Just wish the monthly fee wasn’t so high
Hi Chris, for your Shopify theme dev code, I read it's for intermediate level. If that's the case, what should I learn first? Thanks,

how to add recharge subscription in shogun?? How can I solve it

as usual great work again...can we get a more detailed look on shogun, pagefly gempage page builder 😊
Which one?
Check my channel for a detail video about pagefly
Kudos to you for this informative video. Chris can you use shogun with the webkul marketplace plugin for Shopify?
Never heard of that app I'm afraid. (I'm assuming you mean 'app' not 'plugin')

Great Content 👌
Question: Is there a way to copy the code from a website to use as a template and then edit in shogun from there? And is it feasible? I'm new to this thanks
No this is not possible.. You have to do entire design manually inside shogun by using the drag and drop builder
thank you teacher
shopify theme developmemt with coding is best or with page builders?
with coding is best. Page builders are just for those who don't know how to code.
Im still used to build things hand written. I wish visual builders intergrated text coding ay the same level.
