As a Peruvian I'll tell you is safe before turning to the busy walking street if you kept on walking straight you would've reached the "Central Market" and "Lovely China Town" where you can find everything and cheaper but don't carry jewelry.
as with any large cities, keep your valuables close and don't wander around alone drunk and foolishly in the middle of the night. it's not violent crime, but rather pick pockets and petty theft you should be more worried about.
The down town of Lima, Peru is an area where many people from very poor or marginal neighborhoods go. The people of areas good only go to down town of Lima for business or urgent documents, more nothing.
But nobody is smiling here. Everyone looks like they are in a bad mood. Bangkok has amazing areas like their Chinatown with lots of characters and people enjoying life
@@FrancoDrago yes, I have nothing against them but my mom used to Lived their when she was a little girl and it was really beautiful, peaceful and everyone very elegant. In general, its safe, but keep in mind that you will be in a third world country, do not walk foolishly, showing off expensive items without looking after them, specially when you are eating or buying something. About the police, nowadays there are much more law enforcement officers.
hahahaha are the US and Europe (paris, rome, in particular) any safer than Peru? Coming from China and having lived in North America, I think America Europe is more dangerous and sometimea less orderly than China. The first time that a pickpocket ever stole my wallet (and failed) happened in Germany. Note that I have been to Mexico, Palestine, Jordan and Egypt. The first world countries I have been to are usually less friendly, less fun, less efficient and sometimes less safe. I prefer to go back to China, a developing country where I can use newer subways, high speed trains, amazing shopping malls and pay cashlessly.
Im from Lima, Peru and its not rlly safe for foriegners.....ppl who r used to the city know how to get around fast....while foreigners (aka gringos) can just be standing at the crosswalk for hours cause trust me no car is gonna stop for u......and u can get robbed if u have ur phone out in certain places so u have to know which areas r safe and which r not
@@jambomambo2180 well it depends of the district. I mean its different to walk in compton than beverly hills. Same in Lima. Same in the rest of the world
I didn't mind Lima but i just kept on always having this feeling to watch myself all the time, I liked it alot better in Cusco

IDK. Wish I could help. It's a popular part of city. Long Street that culminates with the scenery in the end. Will be easy to find.
