  • Madras 1980/1981 - Question #6 from Question & Answer Meeting #1
'You say that if one individual changes he can transform the world. In spite of your sincerity the world has gone from bad to worse. Is there such a thing as destiny?'
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

thank you for sharing these videos. this man is so good at explaining in great detail, yet straight-forward that i can't help but learn and be affected by what is said. here in the west we have been starved for spirituality and sacredness. it is good to always keep growing your soul, so to speak, and we can't do it as well, or at all, when we ignore our spirit and hold nothing sacred. all we have to do is figure out what we hold most dear, and transfer that feeling over into every living thing. :) have a great weekend.

The ego unfortunately has a much stronger pull on humanity for only one to have a major impact. The human race will have to be in totally desperate dire straits before they will even begin to be willing to listen. They will have to be shaken to their very core before any change takes place.

Because it doesnt matter. One should act for the betterment of himself as if there is no destiny.

Be interested to know which individuals people think actually benefited the world, humanity, animal life, ecology in just a positive way. Most in JK's list did not turn out well. Even nice people spreading peace, it makes one wonder did such social passivity just lead to vulnerability and invasion. Guess peace only works if everyone agrees to it. Think maybe the UN should mentally vet World leaders for sanity and they should not be allowed to lead if crazy.

i was thinking the same thing, sort of , in the few days...... i have been asking people who are the good guys? we need them now, for sure and in history, who was the good guy? sigh. there were some, i am sure. can't think of any but will think on it some more! been researching russia, and putin has some qualities our leadership in the west sorely lacks. we need to stop thinking we need leaders and rulers and such , i think, because we sound like stockholm syndrome sufferers!!! LOLOL personal responsibility is the way to go , imo? :)

hopespringseternal70 People can argue over Political Ideologies all day. My personal favorite would be True Democracy with untouchable politicians that truly represent the people-- not just corporate lobbyists like in the fake democracy we live in today. Despite differences and diversity we all face a common enemy which is Global Warming and the onset of genocidal catastrophes. It is up to politicians to put aside differences and .do something about it.
As individuals, we have a choice to choose the right diet that doesn't contribute to methane production and cruelty. Do we really need a car drive or a would a lawn be better to soak up the water ? Could we just cycle or do we really need a car ? What about electric cars or hydrogen engine cars ?
Maybe a country that set eco-standards by feudal mandate would be a good idea to set an example to the rest of the world.

i look at things quite differently. i feel that we have stockholm syndrome. we do not need government, and imo we certainly don't need MORE laws to control the people. i see a council system, like the natives all used, where the people do not get paid and serve short terms, constantly rotating......also, in these councils there will be no medical doctors, bankers, clergy, judiciaries, lobbyists, secret society members......these souls have forever lost their legitimacy and credibility.

hopespringseternal70 With no government the result would be tribal warfare and savagery not true freedom. Liberty is the mother of order. It is just now corruption is out of control so we need a better order , one that serves all optimally.

we need councils not government....very different. the party system is useless as it has been forever corrupted. actually, the way we live now IS chaos. anarchy simply means "without rulers" and i, for one, know we can live without "rulers". stockholm syndrome.
