Pod People: #11 on my 'MST3K Funniest Episodes' playlist

Pod People finally made the list, and perhaps well overdo as this is one of the more classic episodes with Joel and the Bots who seemed to have a fun time riffing to this very silly film about long nosed aliens who just wanted to make friends, but dare cross them and pay the price with your life. This episode got a much deserved longer edit, and should probably also deserve a higher spot on the list, but I can always change the order in the future. This list though is ranked mostly on jokes and is why there have been more Mike episodes than Joel as the writing arguably got better as the seasons went on, though season 3 has some all time classics, three of which are already on this list (with more coming). Keep an eye out for #20 coming as soon as tomorrow (took a bit of a break after the Rifftrax Monstrosity edit), and in the coming days look for the best of episodes 11 thru 20 (and if you haven't checked it out yet be sure to watch the best of episodes 1 thru 10 in the playlist).
*I changed Pod People to #13 and switched it with Escapee 2000 which is now #19.

Always cracked me up when he'd get up to look inside an actor's mouth on-screen.

I love Joel. I love the Bots. I love Mike. I love TVs Frank, Doctor Forrester, Pearl, Bobo and Observer. I love MST3k!
But! There is one reason why Joel is my favorite “experiment”: how he physically messes with the movie scenes (2:12 - 2:15 for example). It never ceases to crack me up!
Mike did it, too, but not as much. But that’s okay, he’s still amazing too!
Yeah Joel had just bit more fun overall.
Opening credits actually have footage from the beginning of Galaxy Invader. I believe Film Ventures, INC did that a lot..

Nah, its saving grace is that the tune is catchy and upbeat. It’s the lyrics, whatever they are, that are awful.

The host segment was just so funny in this one. It always made me laugh out loud, even more so than the movie riffing.

They really should have done more with the “ I’m a Virgin” guy
It does seem like they cut part of the movie out at that point, and you can see that him and the producer guy have some dialogue that we can't hear as Joel and the Bots are leaving the theater.
Frank wearing that shirt is what sells the host segment for me.

The LA cop line has slain me.
The "Time Bubble" live show missed an obvious reference to this movie when the toys in "Making Contact" started going haywire. I wonder if it was a deliberate omission since "Trumpy" might have different connotations in the post-2016 world.
My favorite unriffed-upon thing in this dog is that all the young women look alike enough to be sisters, but no one seems to notice. (See also: *Deathstalker* , where the "sisters" and Baldy's mistress all look like they could be related, too.)
I think the teen girl and the cop in Angels' Revenge actually were played by sisters.

It's a good job they had a woman dub the little boy's lines. They might have had a real stinker on their hands if they hadn't saved the day with that one.
I think this is the only one of those top episode countdown vids that has a host segment in it and thank god it does. Idiot control is best host song ever

How did footage from "Galaxy Invader" get in the intro montage?
The helium voice kid is both annoying and puzzling. This movie has such poor quality that I can't tell if it's a voice over with an adult dubbing the voice or the kids really sounds like that.
The production was out of Spain if memory serves.
