personally i dont see it going anywhere for a while, it provides the younger guests who may not be ready for steel taipan (or even a Bermuda blitz) that breakthrough coaster with inversions, that isnt really that intense. also considering the retracking work that premier rides is doing on Loch Ness in Busch gardens williamsburg, the park could also opt to bring in Premier and reprofile or retrack parts of the ride to help extend its service life
I actually remember waiting a while for this when it was known as Hot Wheels Sidewinder. Other than that, I only remember being terrified of it and the long spiral down at the end (I was very young and it was my first looping coaster).
Surprised you didn't mention the old Grundy's centre in surfers paradise, the main waterslide there was called the Gold Coaster. I assume that's where they took inspiration for the name and the theme, anyways.
The Gold Coaster is definitely one of the best crappy Arrow looper out there, tho I agree, the end would be near and I would LOVE to see a new gen Vekoma looper. Given Dreamworld (and Movieworld) are working with Vekoma for their new coasters, I can see Vekoma taking more projects in the near future to replace aging rides. Although, that said, although unlikely, I would love to see a giga around here. Either by Intamin or B&M.
I agree they should, but in my vision for the park, that goes on the Motocoaster plot so it has room to expand over Rocky Hollow and the Murrissippi island
This thing has really grown on me over the years, really fun! Will be a sad day when it closes

I enjoy learning about this stuff thanks I never knew about the noise on the coaster thank you for the info
I wish more Arrow loopers had Vekoma vest restraint trains.
the colour scheme is beautiful
Agreed, new colour scheme is perfection
My favourite bit of the ride is the second loop

I really like this ride. I like the history and I just find it fun. imo gold coaster > green lantern, storm and maybe even jet ski's.
When this ride retires they should get an RMC ibox coaster.

When is the next Coaster Odyssey episode?
Coming in February...
