Mahalo Yeah it’s hard cause get soooo many choices… so just thought I’d try explain the best I could. Cause a lot of people ask me all kind questions… Hey but side note: Hope you find time to make vids once in a while. I truly enjoy watching your vids
I see myself coming back to this video multiple times. Another good breakdown CF is the Mako 3 in 1. Good versatility, just wish they had a knurled 3 prong.
So your saying the Evolve CT 9 aluminum anodized ferules connecting the carbon shafts together, you would recommend to change them to stainless steel to prevent corrosion. Sounds good to me. Any upgrades from Evolve.
I feel it’s preference … Like the evolve with a stock rubber is maybe same or just a hair faster… But the Kai spear has a heavier rubber and the spear is a little heavier and more stiff, so it has more power… So for the cost you can’t beat evolve. And if you need to break down the spear for space or storage I would go with an evolve, but they may eventually break or corrode at the connections. But if you got the extra money I would go with a 8’ Kai. Cause I feel like they are stronger and last longer. What type of fish are you targeting? Cause if you just trying to shoot Kole and manini… a 8’ graphite is super fast and probably the cheapest of the options.
What length you recommend for 3prong. I been using a 100cm speargun for 2 years. Really can't get alot of the fish i like without da 3 prong. Im 6 foot tall if that matters. Any help helps
Hi Pat … in general I would recommend a three prong 8 foot long at least if you trying to shot fish in the open. However if you shooting hole shots a 6 will do. What kind fish you going for? Oh and I would recommend a graphite or graphite hybrid or carbon fiber… to me speed kills, so they are faster and doesn’t warp like aluminum … Well hope this was helpful… lmk
Sorry I don’t know much about them They are based out of California … they look pretty cool. But depends what you are going for Or where you going … if you going that route of an aluminum back and or break down style. I would suggest evolve . Plus I think they may be cheaper
I’ve had the lance O’Hara hybrid. Friend forgot to twist when loading and bent to a 90. My 9’ yokooji is great. I think his name is Darren. I had him replace the head of mine once and it’s honestly my favorite. Don’t see me buying another unless it gets lost
@@Dornosliw I don’t think they go together … if you using a roller, you want range.. usually three prong tips are for smaller fish and hole shots… I think three prong tips are more for smaller guns to shoot in caves
All depends on what you looking for but you can check out Hanapaa and west side dive and even Nanko’s if you in kaneohe. If you looking for a Kai spear it’s better to go direct and message dm on Instagram and say I recommended you to him
So for the Kai spears is just cord wrapping topped with resin… evolve sells a shrink wrap for spears… it’s good and easy to put on… the cheap easy way I do mine is I just wrap electrical tape over cord to make the grip
Anodized aluminum. The anodized coating should be taken off and could be replaced with cerakote. That cerakote coating is many times stronger and harder than Anodizing. We use it on gun barrels
@@onfirefishinghawaii I'm just kidding with you I am originally from a country very far from you I follow you from Algeria, Africa Keep going and you will get what you
They need to play this video in dive shops! Knowledge + Experience saves a lot of time for ppl just getting into the ‘sport

You are right on both. I wish I could try a Mako 3 in one…
And I do have a knurled evolve which does hold fish on the top better

I think you can’t go wrong with Kai spears, or skeeprong , or evolve.
Wich is better evolve 9ft speed or kai spears 7-8ft is longer the better?

Any information on Gatku spears?

Evolve way cheaper than gatku.
I am curious if anyone using slip tips on poles in Hawaii. I’ve seen videos of guys using them in the Bahamas on Pelagics.
@@woodman1701 I think some people here use them also but it’s more of a sport or challenge to land bigger fish on a pole spear

Yup Darian Yokooji is my good friend
He made awesome spears…

What model is the graphite one? and does it ship to europe?
the graphite one is from evolve. you can try check their website. I think they may.
how much are kai's spears and does he ship to mainland US? I moved out from HI
They are kinda pricey but will last you forever… got to DM him on IG for prices but he does ship
Sick shirt joe!

what are some good stores to get 3 prongs in hawaii

Which model is the second graphite spear?
Sorry it doesn’t have a brand on it… I’m sure you can get it at any dive shop or even Walmart
How do you get the grips on the shafts?

Nice👏👏👏👏👏🥰
Epic video! Do you like plastidip or electric tape for your kai? Mahalo!
@@boogieallday the Kai spear is sooo nice with the colors I just plasti dipped where I grab em
Check out Skeeprong- carbon fiber 3 prong made in Hilo, HI. Easily best and most reliable three prong out there. Fast, powerful, and accurate.
Yeah he makes a great spear also

where would you go to do this?
@@sinfulways8108 go to your local gun shop and ask. There will be someone doing that type of work locally guaranteed
Nice
Does anybody know where to get the graphite to make my own 3 prong? been tryna look for a while
Sorry I don’t know
Shoot, I still get my fiberglass, aluminum, and graphite. Still do the job
Yup whatever works for you is the best… as long as puts food on the table 🙌🏻🤙
My dream is have a carbon pole spear one day inchallah .
Kai SPEARS‼️( IMO ) personal bias but best on the market
Yeah once you get in the top tier of three prong spears, they all good. But I do love my Yokooji and the Kai spear is my favorite

Give one spear for free 😅
I wish I made that much money off TH-cam to do so 🙏

If you blasting uhu's evolve. Anything else just get a graphite. Kai's is waste money.
