I know this video is a few years old but your fix worked!!!!! I was having a terrible time trying to figure out why my backglass was under the playfield! I had to change the number opposite of what the actual backglass display was for it to finally work! Thank you so much!
Question Kat, do you know how to change the assignment of playfield and backglass monitors? I was planning to install baller installer on a 3 screen setup (1 PC with 2 external monitors) and only use the external monitors for the playfield and backglass.
@@fatslicko Thanks so much for watching. So sorry for the late reply. Windows is funny on how it sees devices. You can tell windows to make a certain monitor the main display by checking the radio button under the multiple displays section in your display settings. You can also try changing to order under the display settings as well by dragging to a different position (but windows being windows may not change it properly on next startup). (to check which number windows sees it as you can click identify) I'd try these first. Sometimes on the rare occasion the monitor number order needs to changed in the PC's bios. If it still doesn't work that text file can sometimes be the best way to adjust what monitors are assigned to which when it comes to virtual pinball. If you want playfield as montior 1 change the number on the screen res .txt file and save it.
Thanks Kat, I used the baller installer and all screen set up's are great, however I would like to now change out my main playfield screen for a different unit. Am I able to change something in the setup to accommodate the different screen or do I need to start all over again with baller installer.
Hi Kat, my problem is the tables look fine until I press start, then the backglass is on playfield and playfield is on back glass. In my table file there is screenres but no .text . Screen configuration shows correct. ??
Thanks for watching. Is your settings in vpx correct? what's the file extension of your screenres file? I included a download for the txt file if you need it.
Would you happen to know why I can see the DMD and backglass in the preview of pinup popper, but once I launch the game they go away. Only the play field is visible then. I tried the steps you mentioned in this video, but it doesn't fix my problem.
Hi, thanks for watching. So sorry for late reply. Does the backglass and dmd show up when you launch the table from the tables folder? If it doesn't show then you need to configure your vpx. Also are your dmd files in the tables folder and are they named the exact same file name as the table?
@@katsretrogaming2372 hi thanks for the reply. The backglass and dmd were assigned through the media manager section of pinup popper. I used the baller installer to install everything and then assigned these backglass and dmds. Pinup popper is saving them off to this directory: vPinball/PinUPSystem/POPMedia/Visial Pinball X/ (and then either Backglass or DMD depending.) The backglass does not display when launching the table through the tables folder and the dmd is the original old dmd, not the dmd that I assigned in the pinup popper setup media manager. Are you saying I need to save these off to the tables folder? Also, if I adjust the settings in the pinup popper config and select the popper setup tab and then the Emulators button. Then if ibselect visual pinball x and change the "keep displays on" option to add the backglass. The backglass will stay on, but if it's a backglass thst displays the score or is otherwise interactive with the game, it will basically just be a short video of the backglass. Not a problem if it's just a picture backglass, but otherwise it doesn't function as it should. And if I also add DMD to that setting, then it will also just be a short video loop of the dmd that I assigned in the media manager and will not display the score of the game. So kind of pointless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
