Heading Up To Rollins Pass, Colorado

- After a stay at Silverthorne, Colorado, it was time to hit the road again, and Tina the trail. We figured I could drive up to Rollins Pass and I could give her a cold beverage there. Why not? I called the forest service to make sure the road was open and headed out not knowing what the conditions would be like. I love not knowing what's to come.

Nice video . Were you saw the tressel bridge. down the bottom there is the remains of loco 210 when she rolled down the hill.
At Kings lake there is the remains of a tunnel that was started and abanodened,
that metal pipe and all the wood at the top was part of the Corona shown sheads.
There is a book called the rails that climb that tells the history of that pass

4:04 That entire road is an old railroad. That was the main rail line until the Moffat Tunnel was built in the 1920s. It's hard to imagine that old steam trains once used to run up over that. 😎👍
In the early sixties a friend and I went fishing in Jenny Lake drove a fifty-seven ford up there back then you could go all the way to the top and through the tunnel and across the trestles

I used to go up to Rollins pass all the time. It's outside of Nederland. Since I left Colorado it has become overcrowded.
The shots of the night sky at the end were beautiful.

The cell stabilizer was actually pretty good Jay. Wonder if the plane you seen was to help search for whoever set off their Emergency transponder? Would be cool to get some timelapse of some stargazing if you could. Couldn't have asked for a better ending to a vid.
