The craziest thing abt tics is that watching other people tic makes you tic 😭 and weird shit triggers them like being overstimulated by lights, sounds, even hunger triggers mine personally. I don’t have Tourette’s but I have tics and this is my experience.

Growing up, one of my best friends had severe Tourettes syndrome. He worked very hard to manage it. In his case, he would yelp uncontrollably, or burst out with a swear word. Physically, he would have a strong neck and body twitch. At first, school kids would make fun of him, but after they understood what he was going through, most classmates were tolerant, and often supportive. It really gave me an appreciation for the courage and strength that people with this condition go through. He has since gotten a PhD in Physics and is a professor.

Don’t feel bad for her. She was born with it. She can handle it. Just don’t make fun of her, or exploit her for it. She is just sharing with these clips, to de stigmatize. Feeling bad for her isn’t necessarily asked for. Some people, if they were to choose, would keep their Tourette’s. You don’t grow and become your own person if you don’t have your individual struggles. A lot of people couldn’t be themselves, without it. So try not to feel bad. It can get in the way, but it does not hurt her. If anything, it actually helps her individually. Other people with this condition are not as fortunate. But that doesn’t mean their lives are miserable because of this 1 thing, yknow?

Just developed tics over the past month and a half. really sucks because I have a lot of tics that correlate with my costochondritis (which is mostly the cartilage connecting my sternum to my ribs hurts like a bitch every day) and its been rough latley because ive just gotten a breathing tic that hurts SO BAD. Knowing my favorite artist struggles with tics too is very calming.

@@micaellucas2877 another weird fact is if somebody is bleeding out, they'll ask for water because they're in shock. Shock gives them the feeling of an excessively dry mouth. If somebody isn't bleeding out, but still dying? the body, over time, stops digesting or secreting saliva to break down food. So of course what do they ask for? You guessed it, that high quality H2O. But you should only have them sip or wet their mouth with it. At least that's what I was taught in class haha more of a comfort relief than a remedy.

Instead I have (hopefully temporarily) nervous ticks that are acting similarly to turette. Before I get them I didn't know the struggle and physical pain people touched by this illness battle. The worst are the continuous attacks, that go one for sometimes two hours. Body twitching and shaking without my will.
Well I just hurted my nervous system, when I would be in better place the tick would be gone. But poor Billie will stuck with them forever no matter her well-being :/
