I just picked this up (it was languishing on the shelves at a local store and looks like it had been there for quite a while) and I cannot wait to play. I'm a new gamer and just discovered Uwe Rosenberg and I just love the games!
I was fortunate enough to come across a new copy of this game for $60 and can't wait to play this one solo. I know I'm a little late to getting this one to the table but I'm excited for it after watching your video. Your explanations on your playthroughs are very clear and thorough and make learning games much easier. Thanks! (As always.)

Excellent playthrough. The angles are very clear and it is easy to follow the game. I can see that a lot of work went into the filming and editing. Well done!
I played this solo myself the other day. One quibble, I think there should be a regular harvest after round 3. The solo rules say not to use the harvest events, but round three has a regular harvest symbol, so I'm pretty sure it still counts.

I have still never played agricola, but this seems to have similar vibes as that game. But adding Dwarves make me sort of want to play this one more than agricola. :-)
Yes it does! It is supposed to Reimplement Agricola. There are positives and negatives on this one. Some people do not like the "Adventuring" as I call it here, and prefer Agricola's occupation cards. I do like the Dwarf theme, but can understand someone who is looking for a rich worker placement experience would prefer Agricola.
Thank you for the video. It looks like an fun game, but I feel like there is something missing, a goal other then getting points. I was waiting for a big finally or something. This will be a pass for me because I need games where I can lose (and lose often, like Spirit Island or Robinson Crusoe).
Great explanation. My friend bought the game when I did, but I sold it when no one wanted to play for a long time. But last week she gifted me her game, so your playthrough was a great way of getting the rust off. One detail I'm confused about.. on breeding the rules say you can't slaughter them immediately but says they must be accommodated first. Since the pasture and stable were already built, does that make it alright? Thanks and keep up the great work!

Man, this game sure is expensive! On ebay, Agricola is about half the cost of this one. I like the theme more in this one, but that price might put Agricola in the lead for my wishlist.
In fact I did :) But I really prefer Agricola - I really don't like the "adventure" part of Caverna. Especially in multi-player I find them "problematic" ;-)

The components look terrific! It seems quite similar to Agricola's single player version.
I think it is with the exception of the adventuring part!

The German solo manual says that you can only use a ruby once to get more than 6 replenished resources. I'm confused. What's right now?
