      @@sirgeorgetheragdoll for future can you do like a video about differences between ragdolls, Himalayans, birman, siamese cats. I have seen people mix them up because they look similar in terms of colors, seal points, patterns. I have Himalayans and Persians and people often compare my Himalayans to ragdolls. Then I have to explain the differences. I know it’s a lot to ask but I thought since you are already doing so much research and putting so much efforts in each video you might want to look into this as well. Just a suggestion. Also, I’m happy to help with research and anything you need. You don’t even have to credit me just give a hug from me to Sir George and Lady Eleanor from me 🤗

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      @Saahrish I think that’s such a wonderful idea! They all share that colorpoint gene that gives them similar markings, so I can see why it’s so easy to mix them up.
      The challenging part will be finding enough video footage of each type of cat. I only like using videos that I have permission to post and I’m not as connected to people that have other breeds who would be willing to film their cats for me. But I’ll definitely put some feelers out and see what I come up with!

    I adopted a blue eyed white ragdoll from a coworker’s neighbor last year and he is the best! Not deaf thankfully, but he has some lungs on him let me tell you 😭. So soft and friendly :)

    Great video! The cinnamon Ragdolls I've seen are a lot darker (more brown), are those a different type of cinnamon to the ones in your video?

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      Thanks! A couple factors could be at play here:
      1. A lot of the cinnamons we see on Instagram and TikTok are solids so they’ll be much more vibrant and dark in color than the standard color pointed Ragdoll. Cinnamon and fawns are much more popular among solid Ragdolls than traditional ones.
      2. Both cinnamons here are lynxes, and the lynx stripes can make them appear to be lighter than cats without lynx stripes. I couldn’t find a cinnamon without lynx stripes to be in the video lol

    What about lynx ragdolls?

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      Lynx is a type of point variation or overlay! Some of the cats in the video are Lynx Ragdolls. I’ll be making a separate video that specifically focuses on the different point variations, so stay tuned!

    Howcome blue eyes and white fur are linked to deafness in cats and dogs, but blindness in tigers?

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      Great question! I have no clue… I didn’t know that about tigers!

      @@sirgeorgetheragdoll In 2012, I went to a zoo on the Isle of Wight which had a lot of big cats. One of them was a white tiger who had an eye removed due to cataracts(?), and the guide said that now she has to put eyedrops on the tiger's remaining eye every morning. Though considering it was 12 years ago, most of the big cats I saw are probably dead now.

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      @NitroIndigo oh well the cataracts would explain the blue looking eyes and blindness!

    Hi, I breed Siberian colorpoint cats aka Neva Masquerades. They look much like a Ragdoll mixed with a Maine Coon but with colorpoint markings. They are native from Russia. One question, I am not sure if you're a breeder but how can one produce a deep blue eyed cat? I see in this video shows some Ragdolls with vivid blue eyes and others with diluted ice blue eyes.

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      I’m not a breeder so unfortunately I don’t have a good answer about the ins and outs of breeding for specific traits. I would imagine it comes down to choosing lines that consistently produce a specific type of eye, but I’m not entirely sure!

    My kitty rag doll eyes is gray and bluish what is that

    • @sirgeorgetheragdoll

      All standard Ragdolls will have blue eyes. Cherubim Ragdolls can have aqua, green, or gold eyes. If your cats eyes are grey, they might not be a Ragdoll. If they were previously blue and are now grey it might mean something is wrong and they should be seen by a vet!
