Thnx for posting. I have a 2011 Pathfinder that is hard to get out of Park. Brake switches are good. Do I have to replace the whole shifter assembly ... or is it possible to replace just the solenoid. Thnx
Just leave the solenoid unscrewed from the shifter assembly and off to the side. All it does is force you to hit the brake before you shift out of park. Nothing bad will happen if you leave it hooked up but unscrewed off the shifter assembly.
I am having trouble looking for a shifter assembly I have tried going to junk yards around me and other auto part places but cannot find it where did you get yours?

Call a nissan dealership and give them your vin number to your car and have them give you that part number and Google that part number. You'll find plenty on ebay. Or you can just buy at the dealership
You a mechanic so maybe you can help me. I have a 2011 pathfinder just like that and the button on the knob will not engage and press in at times. There is a keyhole for the shifter (shifter release?) located beside the shifter on the console and if I press it then I can move the shifter in place and engage the transmission as normal thus bypassing the normal use of a knob release button. My question is is this in the knob or is it in the transmission? And would I need to replace a similar unit as you did here in this video? What is your thoughts? Thanks
Make sure your brake switch is good and you get power to the shifter whenever you press down on the brake. And that you get power to the brake switch as well. Here you can have a brake switch issue, bad shifter assembly issue or electrical issue. If it works at times then I would go for the shifter. Let me know

I would recommend complete shifter assembly.
@@AudoFixMobile Thnx for spelling out the steps. Definitely helped
