I surprised my japanese girlfriend with our first date in Tokyo and gave her flowers and she told me she never believed that men were able to do kind things like that and where im from this is like almost the bare minimum. That was a big culture shock 😂 Happy together for one year now!ベルギー人です!よろしくお願いします🙂
First you should define what Japanese people think of as romantic. Most women would say spending money on them is romantic: flowers, jewellery, restaurant, vacation travel, etc. I say that's not romantic at all. If you look up the meaning of the word, it's described as Fictitious, imaginary., Fantastic, unrealistic, A story relating to chivalry; a story involving knights, heroes, adventures, quests, etc., but further down the list it's basically "An intimate relationship between two people." That's it. Whatever 'romance' is, is merely in the mind of the individual. I think just being together in a loving admiring way is romantic. Sitting on the couch together watching a movie, having laughs together, or even going grocery shopping... anything can be romantic.
You should ask IJ to test Japanese people whether they’re knowledgeable about world flags. If they are typically interested in foreign cultures. See if it correlates to being able to recognize flags
I’m curious if you would be willing to ask Japanese people about non-native Japanese accents. Which are easier to listen to, harder to etc. Which sounds good and bad. I think it would be really interesting and I haven’t seen any videos about non-native Japanese accents. Thank you for your efforts! These are great videos for immersion 😆👍
That young boy was the sharpest. Bright kid with no wasted words. Also, that moment you had tripping over your words gave me hope as that happens to me when the japanese words wont come out especially with all the られる endings. Have to warm up with some 早口. And your Japanese is much more fluid than mine 😭 ちょっとずつ🤏上手になってる
the chocolate thing sounds great on the first thought but on the second: what if you are too embarrassed to give it to the guy you like but instead give him the "friend" chocolate instead because giving him nothing seems rude? wouldnt that backfire a lot?
Besides the norm of Friday nights dining out .. sometimes I surprise my lady at home on normal weekdays by bringing back extra nice dinner or fancy desserts .. cos I wanna to eat them too
Japanese are pretty reserved. I don’t think many are romantic for that reason alone. Only had a couple dates so far here so don’t have enough first hand experience yet. And no one talks about their romantic life at work either.
Doesn’t romantic have two meanings in Japanese? (As it does in English). I think the first two girls in the video were thinking you were talking about the ONE PIECE “Romance Dawn” kind of romantic.
This could lead to a few things, where the good part is japanese girl will appreciate guy with little effort, or playboy would take advantage of it and grab all the girls 😅
do the girls actually play their part and yet the boys dont reciprocate? or do the girls do nothing and just expect one-way princess treatment? i'd love to see an interview asking women how they play their part in the relationships. how they show affection to their boyfriends, how they make their boyfriend feel appreciated and wanted
Isnt it funny, they come from a society where they are encouraged to always think of others and what others might be thinking but when it comes to relationships they are not cosiderate of their parnters, Maybe it is all too muchh and they dont to put in that extra effort?
"A frog leg date." Stop, you're killing me, IJ!

1:10 he said of himself😂
Maybe the question should be “are Japanese people passionate”?

I think this why host clubs are so popular.

How sad, I feel sorry for Japanese girls 😢
