    Well the big wildcard with Epson was the fixed printheads. Unlike replaceable printheads that came with other printer ink cartridges, when the fixed printhead got clogged, they often could never be unclogged, or replaced.
    I see this printer also has fixed printheads, do they have any new technology for dealing with clogged printheads? I never want to do that never ending printhead cleaning cycle again that never clears all the nozzles, not for a $500 printer.

      @geekanoids  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am pretty sure with the continuous ink system they would have revised the printhead to avoid this.

      I have just done a nozzle cleaning job on this printer for a client yesterday so I'm happy to share my findings. The print heads *can* be removed and layed to a side with the ink hoses attached allowing access to the nozzles. I then used syringe and rubber hose to flush the nozzles with methylated spirits, followed by a cleaning cycle to prime the nozzles. This did the trick of removing stubborn cloggages. One gottya at the end - I had to prime the larger black nozzle with ink manually, using the syringe with hose, to remove the pocket of air there. HTH :)
      Thanks for sharing the review video :)

    Impressive printer, the speed between the scanning and printing is almost equal, the quality of the print is crisp and clean for both color and black and white. I do like the idea of refilling the tanks instead of using cartridges, one thing that I was thinking is how long will the print heads last, keep us updated at 6 months or a year, still it is a very impressive printer. Excellent video Dave.

    Very overpriced for a flimsy machine. Also, Epson EcoTank print quality is not as good as a laser. And the power clean that Epson recommends periodically consumes loads of ink which defeats the purpose of buying the printer.

    Hey is there a better option if I just want to print black and white text? I really only use my printer for that kind of stuff.

      I don't know the official number, but I would quite happily print 200-300 per day, possibly up to 500.

    This can do a good heat transfer for small business like t-shirt mug plate... plz?

      With the right type of print media and ink, that might be possible.

    What if I don't use it regularly. Does it have the same problem as the other epson where the ink drys and gives an error.

    • @geekanoids

      I have not had this issue, but pretty much all inkjet printers do this unless used a few times per week.

      You can use inkjet specific gloss paper.

    :( Mine is such a disappointment. The auto doc feeder ADF might be great - but I still haven't gotten mine to work. Oh, and it's usually out of communication with all the devices or "out of paper" even when the paper tray is full. The interface w the printer is awful, as well. this will be my last Epson anything.

    Great review. I've had the ET-2500 for about 18mths and haven't even used half of my original inks yet (and mine only had one set). I've printed tons of A4 photos. After watching your review I think I'll buy the ET-4550 as it prints a lot faster than the ET-2500 and has the document feeder for scanning/copying. Thanks for this thorough review.

    what is the best eco tank printer suits well in printing waterproof paper stickers?

    • @geekanoids
      @geekanoids  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think inkjet would be good for waterproof stickers. I would look at a laser printer.

    I have this printer. It worked great for about a month then all of a sudden it would show all signs of being connected to PC and printing, but no image is on the paper.
    Any reason why this might happen?
    Not old enough to be out of ink or used enough to require print head cartridges to be cleaned.
    It just stopped printing the images.

    • @geekanoids
      @geekanoids  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My only guess is a faulty printhead.

    I heard if you use glossy paper you need to adjust the copy to glossy or the color will smudge

    • @geekanoids
      @geekanoids  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is indeed sort of correct. You need to tell the driver you are using glossy paper, so the right amount of ink is used.
