I'm sorry to hear about Stan Fletcher... such a shame he didn't live long enough to see his baby be reborn. But I'm sure he was happy throughout his duration of the journey so far, knowing how dedicated the Society is to bringing this legendary pioneer of a locomotive back into the modern age.
Some seriously good progress there! I’m so glad to see projects like these going on here in Derbyshire. Sad to hear about Mr Fletcher, I’m sure he’ll be keeping watch as this project progresses. It’ll definitely be a good day when a 10000 rides the rails once more.
The bogies sent away with original sand in them from when they were filled just after construction! They certainly didn’t use more than the odd single grain in their entire working lives!
The parts are for inclusion in the new locomotive, as approved by industry specialists. For instance, the electrical cubicle will feature a mix of items from that of cl 56 and 58.

I always admire volunteers like these who not only get projects moving but deliver top class workmanship as well.
Well done everyone! 👍👏👏

great to see a project like this, but sad to see the demise of 58022, As an apprentice at BREL (The Plant) Doncaster I worked on it as a new build
This is good to see, things getting done, progress. All the best for now.

Real life locomotive kit
A _what_ underframe?
The sort you would find in the woods!
What is a bear underframe? Seriously, more power to your efforts to create a plausible interpretation of the grand daddy of English mainline diesels.
I can 'bearly' believe there's a typo in it!
what are all the class 56 parts for are they to be sold off to raise money to buy other parts that lms 10000 needs!
