Lara is so brutal in this game. Love when she's threatening Takamoto as politely as possible at the party. Personality wise this has got to be the best Lara!
She can be pretty brutal in the earlier games too. Especially the end of TR3 when she kills the unarmed helicopter pilot for no reason. She could have just knocked him out.
Hi Lizz!! Lara actually CAN do melee fighting in this!! She can slide into enemies, kick them and jump off them snd shoot them in slo mo! There was a tutorial in the peru level!!
I must admit I really loved this version of Lara. When she ripped that dress and started shooting the place up , awesome. It's great watching you play it for the first time. Hope you enjoy the whole game. Steve 👍

33:07 You missed it in Paraiso... with the training dummy right at the start of the level. Lara will do a jumping double foot kick off the enemy, and briefly go into slow motion, so you can shoot them similar to Anniversary.
The Rutland fight is insane on mouse and keyboard 😂 it still takes me awhile to beat him. I get so nostalgic playing Legend and Underworld I've played them both since 2007 over and over and over.

1:19 I've been wondering about her hair from the beginning of the playthrough 😆 I can tell you enabled V-Sync cause the game didn't break everywhere but I do wonder if the game defaulted to something higher than 60Hz, or perhaps 60fps really does make hair this floaty and I didn't remember it like this 😂 originally/on most consoles it's at least twice as heavy And I haven't gotten to this part yet but yeah, Nishimura's glasses letting you see right through him literally are a PC bug with the original graphics, kinda like the monitor 😆 (oh, you didn't notice, good! 😆) 9:34 Okay... Well, she skipped the entire combat tutorial in Peru because it only showed keyboard keys. She practically missed half of the moves Lara can do in the game and I don't think she ever even switched weapons, but made it through the game anyway

After rescuing Sam, she wasn't able to see her again. So either Nishimura from Legend is Sam's dad or close relative. Either way, it's too big of a coincidence to ignore.

Yeah this Japan chapter is an athletic championship 😂 I reed that Angelina Jolie really loved to portrayed Lara in the first two movies. Sadly, that movies were pretty bad but Angelina perfectly portrayed this origin Lara Croft.
The staff at CD has probably changed a lot over the last 15-20 years. Lara's creator Toby Gard was involved in this trilogy, although his role was largely as a story consultant, and his input diminished significantly by Underworld.
Huh? Toby was actively involved in Legend, including Lara's redesign and the story. He was only a story consultant for Anniversary, but had more influence in Underworld again. Actually makes you think whether he really left Core Design because they wanted to sexualize Lara after the first game, given how much skin she's showing Legend and Underworld.

People can say whatever they want about Angel of Darkness gameplay-wise or story-wise, but it had one of the best Laras ever.

while shooting, kick enemies and Lara will perform a slo mo finisher, also some cabinets can be opened by kicking them where you may find loot:)

Lara can also grapple enemies to herself, or roll towards them with guns aimed to slide and send them flying.
