Tonk Rajputs converted to Islam in order to save their kingdom! Gujarat's sultans like Ahmed and Mohamed shah were Tonk Rajputs who became Muslims.Many Rajput princes did it to save their Jagirs and land. On top of it Hindus didn't take them back if they wanted home wapasi!Pindaris looted all over India, This was done years after years lasting for 100 years! Imagine what they did to our mostly rural poor people.Marathas also used them. Only Brits saved Indians from cruelties of Pindaras and thugs. Marathas and many Indian kingdoms of the time used them and collected chauth from them! What a shame! This Chavan or chauhan won't talk about how our great great moms were kidnapped raped and sold as slaves. Pindaris used to enslave people and release if paid big amount.
Pindaris were worst than Mughals , they were employed by Marathas.
Not only pindari but marathas also comitted authorities in Bengali people
The Muslims of Tonk were Pindaris, not converted Rajput's as you said
Gujrat Sultans were not Rajput's, that not confirmed because they sometimes mentioned themselves as of Khatri caste, even they are not sure about their ethnicity
Moreover they were converted earlier when they have no Kingdom (Gujrat Sultanate) (when they were in southern Punjab)

IV & V, are worth reading to understand how Maratha, Pindaris And Sikh lost to East India Company. None of the Indian kings, kingdoms - however brave they might have been - were having vision to unite India as a whole. Each had limited areas within which they were satisfied. How to unite as a nation, was also not their agenda. But British were clear about their national identity and therefore they never made a mistake in this regard. Only after 1910 when railways were laid down throughout India's main four directions by British, that the Indians were able to meet each other fast & frequently. And after this only some coordinated efforts were made on national basis by people of all major parts of India.
