    Fun fact: Mike's bass is a Peavey T40, which is a heavy freaking guitar. I have one. I had him autograph it for me, and he nearly teared up when he saw it. His 1st bass! Now mine says I love this bass. It's pretty old lol

    Oh my, this brings back some memories. @HeatherKiwi Mike's stage presence drastically improved over the years! When I was a teenager, I bounced all over the stage like a drunken sailor as well. I think eventually many guitarists/bassists see a video of themselves and think, "What was I doing?"

  • @MyCatsPuke
    @MyCatsPuke 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @slarbiter thats not true. if you watch his film "it came from bremerton" he had a few tattoos on his arm from when they were on tour, their first tour was i think 2 days after they graduated grade 12. you can also see his tattoos in the music video for "punk rock show" and they all had colored hair. so depending on the month of this show, he would have been 16 or 17. sorry if i sound like a smart ass jerk haha : /

    That's what made Andy's playing sound good on the first album....he played with his wrist like Johnny Ramone, not with his arm like Tom. It would have been really awesome to have seen them with Andy. I first saw the band perform at Knott's Berry Farm's "Spring Jubilation" in May of 1995. When they got up onstage, I was like "Who's the guitarist? That doesn't look like Andy." But they put on a killer show that night.

    • @blavidson23
      @blavidson23 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andy had some promise.. I’m sure if he stayed in the band he would have got even better.. sound and chops would have improved. Pokinatcha is awesome cause of the gritty guitar sound. But when Tom came into the band the bar was raised! That’s so sick man, seeing them at Knott’s! I wish there was footage of that.

    give up ethical values? How has he givin up anything? Just because he grew up? Go to a MxPx show now days and he still gives the same amount of enthusiasm as 94 and 95, Just because the music evolved into more commercial rock doesn't mean he's lost his ethics, those are the same ethics that drove him to the point hes at now and the point he goes from here. He can't act like a kid all his life, and punk rock logic doesn't have a definition. Same mindset in new songs like contention and shit...

    I totally agree. However, I think it's the ethics of punk rock that really make the punk. The way I see it, it's fairly shameful to give up those ethical values.
