Guys, it's actually much cheaper then I stated in video for these canned heats, it had been awhile since I bought some so I forgot price. I recommend these ones I used in video as even for only buying 12 at once it's like $2 per canned heat. Should be cheaper if you buy more at once. Here's link amzn.to/4brNORq
You already own an SUV with a built in heater. This video is literally the dumbest thing ive seen ever in the history of idiots. Start car, turn on heater.
Sorry bro $15 for 6 hours it BAD really BAD! That means just 1/2 the day for heat is $30. That's $900 a month for only 1/2 a day! I can fill up a 20gal. propane tank for $15 and run my small buddy heater on low for 3 days. That's $150 a month 24/7 and put out more BTUs.
I just returned from a 5 day. Winter camp out in the arrowhead region in northern Minnesota . I have a 5 / 8 homemade insulated camper. That I pull behind my Jeep. I use a small electric heater for overnight and put a 25 foot cord on my generator and move it away from the camper. I burn under a gallon of gas for 8 hour overnight. This keeps me cozy warm and 100% safe without danger of carbon monoxide. Cost about $3 per night for that energy. Thanks for your video and let's keep on camping 😊
@@navitruck7042 Don't have a link but I bought the heater at menards . It also has 4 USB plugs on it, so you can recharge all your devices when you are using it I think it was around $65.

If you have a sams club membership, the 6 hrs heat cans is a 12 pack for $20 and free shipping.. costco might have something similar if not sams club. So $20 for 24hrs of heat isn't too bad but if its $5 a can, $60 for 24hrs of heat is a tad much.
@@jarred8733yes. I mean I like that it's smaller than my five gallon propane tank and wave three heater setup, but I pay about $25 for at least two weeks of heat in the winter. The heater in this video appears to be much more expensive to run. Is that right?
@WindsongPodcast I have no idea honestly, I just know the heat source isn't the cheapest. I was trying to help him find cheaper sources. Propane would 100% be cheaper. The heater in the video is for either rich people or in a really bad emergency situation.
which means if it's cold out, you need to keep the cans burning around the clock, which uses an entire case every day costing over $20 daily, and that's only if you have membership at Costco or Sam's club. Insane high price for heat.
that was another great video Matt. I really enjoyed it staying safe and warm in the Durango with the delicious food and new heater which I really like 👍

Hey friend, use that snuffer. I experiment with different ways to heat the space around where I use my computer here in my house located in southern MN. I tried a Dollar Store can of heet some days ago. The length of time before it started to smell bad was minimal. When I decided to put it out, I used the can's cover and pushed it down with a screw driver. A few seconds later, I jumped at the sound of an explosion. The top had blown off! Better a little bad smell than an explosion:) Also, probably best not to depend on Dollar Store Heet cans:)
Yeah, good point about putting the lid on before the can has completely cooled down. In principle, I'd think that if you put the lid on while it's still hot, you'd be more likely to have an implosion rather than an explosion. But then, your experience suggests otherwise.

Tip for sitting outside in the cold. Use a Hurricane lantern with lamp oil (Preferred Ultra Pure). Place it in a cat litter bucket to prevent tip over and keeping it way from cloth. Sit in a chair with the bucket between your knees. Put wool (natural fire retardant) over the bucket, your knees and up a high as you can get it. You will sit toasty with just one flame.
Less expensive way is to use a Mr. Buddy or Little Buddy heater. They are rated "indoor safe" and less hassle, and mess than this system. I use the 1-pound Coleman fuel tanks and then refill them from the large propane tanks. By refilling the large tanks and then using the large ones to refill the one pound tanks, the cost per 4 to 6 hours of heat is only about $1.50, (vs $15 for the system you are using), and there are not all the empty cans and smoke to deal with that you showed in your video. The Mr. Buddy products are rated "indoor safe" and my carbon monoxide barely rises in its reading at all over the time I'm using the heater inside my vehicle. For extra safety I do keep a fire extinguisher in my vehicle, like you do.

You need a diesel parking heater, to heat my home I burn 20L in 1-3 weeks depending on the weather. Can't go wrong with those units. Save that heater/stove for just cooking instead. it's a nice dry heat & you windows will never freeze shut nor will you have to clear snow. For real. & if they are frozen shut running that diesel heater for less than an hour solves that. I got my small slide in camper up to 40c in an hour.

You have all the safety equipment on hand so a Dietz Monarch (made in N.Y. USA) would be excellent in your scenario. Light, warmth and atmosphere all rolled into one 🔥
I've heard that you can just put pasta in room temp water and it will rehydrate, just over a longer period of time than with boiling water. If you had started your meal that way, earlier in the day, you might have been able to just warm the macaroni and water to 180 degrees or so and then finished with the other ingredients without generating so much steam and condensate. Would get your forced air heater back on line sooner also. Just a thought. If you snuff the cans out, one at a time, while keeping the screw lid handy, maybe you could have snuffed a can and capped it, then move to the next one to minimize the smoke.
I think that you'll find that it's recommended that you pull out the wick on those heat cans a small amount and then fluff and flatten them to a 3/4" to 1" diameter before you light them. That gives the fastest start up of the fan and the highest btu per hour output.
Definitely enjoyed watching a video. I'm originally from New Hampshire so I welcome the snow. I now live in Florida so I don't get to see the snow. Many nights I slept in my car during the winter. Back then I didn't have no heater like you did, and it looks very warm. Look forward to seeing more videos
The 12hr or 24hr extra large hand warmers do a surprisingly good job of raising the temperature in a small space. Definitely not cost effective, but they last a long time and dont take up much space so they're a good back-up.
We got some nice weather coming now. Should make camping a bit easier Unfortunately I fell and broke my ribs ice fishing this week. I’m stuck watching everybody else on TH-cam get outdoors ,for a few weeks anyway..cool video ! can’t wait for the next one.Bro !
Watching with interest bc I ordered one of these heaters for my tent camping. I hope I made the right choice. Thanks for posting your video. I will watch until the end and hopefully, know that I made the right choice. 😊
Warm air holds moisture, that moisture will release as condensation if it touches a cool surface. That's why Windows get foggy in a car, especially during cold weather. If you can generate enough heat, the glass will melt outside Frost. Having this in your mind can help to control for frost and condensation to benefit stealth campers
man if those canned heats were cheaper that vesta would be such a good buy, like camping gas buying the canned heat in bulk seems the only viable option
Awesome video, bro! We don’t get those types of temperatures down here in Georgia so it was awesome getting to live vicariously through you. I am enjoying binge watching your camping vids!
You should try using a candle/terracotta pot home made heater for your heat source. Super cheap and easy to make. Gives good heat for small spaces. Look up how to make one on TH-cam.
Besides making them into alcohol stoves, have you found any nifty uses for those empty sterno cans? Maybe you could make char cloth in them and store ashes for making cotton firestarters..
I used to live in a small cabin that only had a small wall propane heater and before I moved in I was painting and fixing a few things. Had a loaf of bread and some cheese slices, put a sandwich on a ladder work ledge and made a fkn grilled cheese just sitting next to that heater on low about a foot away, I’m sure they make a very small propane heater that would have you baking cupcakes on the freakin dashboard and the small can for the propane is so cheap, you would never used canned heats again. Also, would be awesome to look outside and see a pair of dog man eyes… so maybe get some window covers 😂
@@maxsparks5183 All flames create CO - Carbon Monoxide. Unless burned at REALLY high temperatures, which is one of the things your cars catalytic converter does. CO poisoning is where oxygen is bumped out of the line by the smaller size of CO, which hitches a ride in the blood cells. Enough CO, short or long term, can cause death due to no O2 being delivered to fuel your cells. Really high levels can kill with one breath. If you camp, take a portable CO detector. Easy to use and peace of mind. They are 20 to 40 bucks.
Because your burning parafin and wax into the atmosphere and then breathing it in. In the home is ok large airy space but not in a confined space with no air flow. Pretty much common knowledge.@maxsparks5183

Yeah this is the second time I’ve used it and really like it. With my window shades and maybe a blanket to divide front of vehicle from the back it would be quiet a bit warmer
If the top gets hot, you may be able to get a small kinetic fan that you can put on top of a wood stove. It works by just the warmth of the heat source. That could help move the heat around, and with the condensation.
Here’s a scary story you can share around your car heater. There once was a guy who loved tent camping. He slept on an air mattress which he would fill with the exhaust from his car. He had great success at this for 20 years and every other camper he came across praised him for his brilliance and economy. One camping trip he set up his tent and filled his air mattress and he closed up his tent tight to keep the cold out. The next morning he did not emerge. The air mattress had sprung a leak! He was found blue and unresponsive.

I truly appreciate how you continue to test various methods and tools for staying warm (enough) in the car at night. This device (the InstaFire) is very interesting, and effective. I do note that the fuel cans are way way way too expensive to be practical for all night coverage, or, in my opinion, even one 6-hr stint. Hmmm. Wondering if there are cheaper alternatives. Also wondered about carbon monoxide. I know you carry a CO monitor. And, yep, indoor condensation is a beast. The only way to get rid is to prevent it by keeping windows partially cracked open, but then it's -10 inside. Ugh. But frozen condensation on all surfaces is a bitch in the morning. Thanks again for your efforts. If you had a Buy Me a Coffee link, I'd donate. Then again, you must be financially OK what with all the gear your buy. Cool!
Question, what if after the solid fuel runs out, you refill the cans with crisco and a wick? Would that possibly generate enough heat to run the heater? If it would work, then it would cost pennies to run if you can buy crisco or other generic shortenings in bulk. Just food for thought.

Great video, thanks 👍
nice video man ive always wanted to go winter camping it just seems so cool
I think that you'll find that it's recommended that you pull out the wick on those heat cans a small amount and then fluff and flatten them to a 3/4" to 1" diameter before you light them. That gives the fastest start up of the fan and the highest btu per hour output.
Id like to say thanks for the important little facts we are wanting to know. The whole Noah thing
No problem, God bless!
Great video, please keep them coming! Love your content. God Bless
Great video. I have that stove and buy the canned heat at Sam’s club. 6 hr burn for less than $20 for 12 cans.
At the price it’s definitely a great option
Thanks for another great video!
Your vid’s are peaceful relaxing to me kick back 😎💪👍👍⬆️
Another awesome video. Nice hoodie
Thanks!
Make insulated fabric coverings for the windows. Save your wood chips for cooking meals. You can make can heaters with empty cans and candles.
Very good vid! I immediately bought one of those heaters!
Thanks!
A great heater. Nice to see your videos again. Are you not worried about being alone out there? 😊
Thanks and no I’m not worried as God is with me 😁
Warm air holds moisture, that moisture will release as condensation if it touches a cool surface.
That's why Windows get foggy in a car, especially during cold weather. If you can generate enough heat, the glass will melt outside Frost.
Having this in your mind can help to control for frost and condensation to benefit stealth campers
Thanks for making this video. I'm always looking for heating solutions and was excited to see this. I've been wondering about these can things.
Definitely recommend it 😁
I use a Origo Heat Pal Swedish alcohol heater and stove. Three 8 hour tea candles would work in your heater.
I just discovered you, and I loved this video! ❤ I "liked and subscribed" immediately 👍
you need to do diy insulated winter season shades for car camping if Amazon sell them.
You need winter season windsheild cover for ice and snow.
Beautiful area the woods is the best place to be that's where intellect is acquired
man if those canned heats were cheaper that vesta would be such a good buy, like camping gas buying the canned heat in bulk seems the only viable option
There actually less thank $2 per canned heat. The more you buy at once the cheaper
Matt I missed you! Thanks for sharing. Watching from: Newark NewJersey 😊
Very happy for the heater demo! I have one of these canned heat heaters and haven't used it yet. Super informative
Glad you enjoyed it!
You either have a doppelgänger or a twin, actor Jessie Williams. Love your channel ❤ from Australia
I LOVE THE THUMBNAIL TITLE 😂
JUST NEEDS MOP 😅😅
Besides making them into alcohol stoves, have you found any nifty uses for those empty sterno cans? Maybe you could make char cloth in them and store ashes for making cotton firestarters..
Thank you for the great video i love the instafire vesta heater great idea
Thanks and yeah it’s a great product
I used to live in a small cabin that only had a small wall propane heater and before I moved in I was painting and fixing a few things. Had a loaf of bread and some cheese slices, put a sandwich on a ladder work ledge and made a fkn grilled cheese just sitting next to that heater on low about a foot away, I’m sure they make a very small propane heater that would have you baking cupcakes on the freakin dashboard and the small can for the propane is so cheap, you would never used canned heats again.
Also, would be awesome to look outside and see a pair of dog man eyes… so maybe get some window covers 😂
Dude, candles are very harmful for your health not to mention how they coat your interior with a slick layer of wax
How the heck does a candle hurt your health ?

All flames create CO - Carbon Monoxide.
Canned heat is not candles. It's alcohol.
I don't know why he has a candle burning. Valetines scented candle.
Because your burning parafin and wax into the atmosphere and then breathing it in. In the home is ok large airy space but not in a confined space with no air flow. Pretty much common knowledge.@maxsparks5183
Some candles are made from a petroleum by product instead of bees wax.
Why didn't you make insulated covers for the windows? Simple way to retain more heat.
I have some, just forgot them
you've had this heater on before... i think. whomever, i bought because of the video. i get my 6 hour canisters from Sams Club about 20$ for 12. definitely work in smaller spaces. Thanks for sharing!
How many canisters do u have to use to keep it 50 degrees?
@@samanthadodd8112 being in north Texas (aka DFW) we do not get that cold. My Madza5 is way smaller for camping. I would think 3 would be good but i choose to not camp that cold. I'm really a 2 season camper... spring and fall.
Yeah this is the second time I’ve used it and really like it. With my window shades and maybe a blanket to divide front of vehicle from the back it would be quiet a bit warmer
@@TolbersCamping i thought your were the inspiration for my purchase, but humidity really does seem to be a problem. Carry on!
If the top gets hot, you may be able to get a small kinetic fan that you can put on top of a wood stove. It works by just the warmth of the heat source. That could help move the heat around, and with the condensation.
Kraft mac n cheese!!!😂😂😂❤❤❤😊😊😊
😁
Great watch mate
YEAHHHHHH BUUUUUDDDDYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
Burn candles when steamy and help with steam. Between stove and window.❤
Oh my! Another Hollywood adventure camper...
Yes I film my adventures for others to enjoy and learn from. Thanks for watching, God bless
There was really no reason for that, where is your TH-cam channel?
@@flowergarden1426 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil; for of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaketh. (Luke 6:45)
I recently bought a cap for my truck. I plan on setting it up so I can camp in it if I want to. But, I don't think I'm gonna do it when it's that cold!
Cool!
Another nice video, thanks
Question, what if after the solid fuel runs out, you refill the cans with crisco and a wick? Would that possibly generate enough heat to run the heater? If it would work, then it would cost pennies to run if you can buy crisco or other generic shortenings in bulk. Just food for thought.
GREAT VIDEO AS USUAL. I THOUGHT THAT HEATER HOLDS 6 CANDLES OR IS THAT A SMALL ONE. AM I WRONG.
