I have about 30+ nepenthes and then a bunch of other carnivorous plants (studio apartment in Brooklyn) and i love to see a video that gives very accurate information unlike other videos! Loved this whole series on them
Between Yuri and your questions, Sean, I think you covered the genus Nepenthes quite thoroughly. I would love for you to pick Yuri’s brain in other videos regarding a few other carnivorous genera that can be grown indoors as houseplants.
Thank you so much for the series have really enjoyed watching and learning something different. Yudhi is a font of knowledge very interesting man to listen too. If you read this, thank you Yudhi 😊.
@@onlyplants Sean you must do some episodes showing them in their natural habitats in Indonesian Jungles be it carnivorous/aroid/Hoya etc. Would love to see something like that!
Nepenthes Sibuyanensis is endemic in the island of Sibuyan of Romblon, Philippines.... It is near here in my province (Capiz)... Many beautiful and colorful nepenthes also found here in my island provinces (Panay Island)...

Awesome videos on nepenthes!! Thank you so much.! Could you tell us please , when he said he sometimes uses Hydrogen peroxide in the bags of the cuttings for any fungus or mold , what would the strength of that be and would that be mixed with water ? thanks in advance .
@@onlyplants thanks for the suggestion but I don’t have Instagram or do that? Is there a way other than that for an answer perhaps? I appreciate your help.
Hi just seeking advise redarding my nepenthes gaya , any ideas what it means when it sprouts a pitcher and the lid opens before the pitcher has developed ?
@@onlyplants I did it..... I successfully conducted half node propagation on Nepenthes viking, Graciliflora, red Gracilis, green Ampullaria, Ventricosa.....

Love these 3 parts about Nepenthes. Living in Europe (middle) we get less light in Winter. But I think I will start growing them..
Theres a lot of indoor hacks… which is enjoyable 😀

You may DM him directly on instagram for that question, I have a feeling he would be happy to answer 😀

Do you have anything on Sundew (Drosera) ?
Thank you.❤
I dont know much about them unfortunately 🥲
Is it possible to air layer Nepenthes like done with monsteras when propagating. Or are you better off doing it as you described?
Yes you can air layer them. Cover the stem with moss and it should root
Hi just seeking advise redarding my nepenthes gaya , any ideas what it means when it sprouts a pitcher and the lid opens before the pitcher has developed ?
Might be a question you can DM to Yudhi. The instagram account is on the video description 😀
Shawn is so knowledgeable and a handsome man
😅😅
Can you propagate once the stems get woody?
Jumping in for Yudhi here with a best guess. You probably can but its a good idea to use rooting hormone for woodier stems.
@@onlyplants thank you so much for the reply defiantly will try that
Im not clicking away from this video because i lost interest, i think i need to do some more research and come back to this 😅
Haha 😅😅 you are hilarious. Thank you for making me smile.
Hi in 2:24 what is Kaykeee paste ?😅
Keiki paste is used for orchids usually, but works on other plants. Its to activate nodes to encourage them to sprout a vine! 😀
Is it possible to propagate using only half node?
I cant imagine what half a node might look like… but Im guessing you need 1 full node with 1 growing eye.
@@onlyplants I did it..... I successfully conducted half node propagation on Nepenthes viking, Graciliflora, red Gracilis, green Ampullaria, Ventricosa.....
what will happen if there is no growth but the cutting have roots
There should be growth after roots. Unless theres no more active growing nodes or apical bud
@@onlyplants then its good as dead if there is no nodes or buds?
Two plant nerds together. How cute 😅
😀😀
hello sir can i have some cuttings
🧐🤓
😀😀
I have tried and tried and tried and I fail every time. I just can't propagate a napenthes
You can try to tent the entire cutting so its 99% humidity. They do much better this way 😀 i have far more success doing so
