- Michael and KITT find Adrianne's estate where Garthe is holding Devon, April and Dr. Bergstrom prisoner. The duo doesn't get far when they encounter Goliath blocking their path. Veering out of the way, KITT flies off a cliff. He is saved by his new emergency parachute, but disabled by the rough landing.
From Season 2 Episode 18 "Goliath Returns": Adrienne St. Clair has rebuilt Goliath and springs Garthe Knight out of prison. Next they kidnap Devon and April from Foundation HQ in order to lure Michael and Kitt into a trap. Adrienne wants to install Kitt's CPU into Goliath, but Garthe is only interested in getting revenge on Michael.

I would have loved to see an episode where Michael and K.I.T.T. went up against Garth and K.A.R.R.! The potential stories could have done!

Actually, it's NOT a secret that KITT is a FLAG vehicle, and Michael is a FLAG agent. Many times, during the series, Michael tells people that he, and KITT work for FLAG.

This is from the syndicated 2-part version, where they cut out the earlier scenes of Michael and KITT about to test the parachute function, only to go faulty. Also the opening of the following semi scene with April fixing it. Hence why they cut out Michael and KITT's lines before the commercial break here. So the 2-part version lacks the whole parachute subplot building up to this sequence, resulting in the parachute just happening with no hints.

I have to say as an adult now watching this like I used to when I was a kid makes me feel so embarrassed that I actually thought this was cool. My oh my. How times have changed since then.
Be more charitable to your younger self. When I was 9, this was the best show and no one could tell me otherwise. Now, at 49, it cracks me up at times but I can still see why I loved it.
My son is 13 and just started watching this along with other 80s shows. He said he wished this was his childhood. Don’t feel embarrassed…. We had it really good.

If Micheal simply stays in KITT instead or getting out to get rid of the parachute this scene ends completely differently. KITT should have detected the van full of guards coming and told Michael to stay inside the car since KITT is bulletproof.

Pro Tip - if a semi is chasing you, do a quick U-Turn, they can't make on on the Highway. Also, the tighter the jeans, the harder the Karate kick. FACT
