"Becoming an expert, let alone master spellcaster takes years of dedication." Dragonborn: _powerlevels all schools of magic in just a few days by repeatedly casting the same spells over and over_
Great conversation. He's sacrificed so much to get where he is now, and this conversation about spellcasting also reminds me of his reference to Sun-in-Shadow's attempt to climb the ranks from ESO. "Needless to say, my own approach will be very different." (paraphrased) I imagine the "waste of time" referenced here might be related to how important it is to him to reach his goals within the house's hierarchy alongside honing his alchemical expertise.
Love the work that goes into this mod/character. Xelzaz truly is one of, if not THE, best companion, in my humble opinion. Great work as always. “Xel” is a forever a mainstay on my LO.
Goodness, he sounds amusingly mature, like a student who had already mastered what he needed, and furthered himself not to need higher power yet more wisdom. Hail to thee my guest of honor, it is a delight.
This is something that I’d wondered about before back on my dummer mage who ended up mastering three schools of magic (and also enchanting I guess), it’s very cool that Xel actually has a reason for not pursuing higher end magic.
Invisbility is a left over from early development. He won't ever really cast it unless you have mods that disables certain vanilla checks. He would need to be level 75 in illusion and also be 'feared' (aka trying to escape) for him to cast it normally. Option to toggle it was left in for those who have mods removing the checks. Main reason it has stayed is that I got his spell toggling working and I'm terrified to tweak it in case I break everything.
In case you haven't caught it yet. When the player mentions that being content is unbecoming of a Telvanni, you put "seem", when you should've put "seems".

To be fair you are part dragon, you’ve probably eaten more knowledge from your slain “peers” than most people learn in their entire lives.
"Here, eat this book."
Wh... why so dragonborn?

Gosh, I love Xelxaz’s voice so much 💖
Solid explanation, although wouldn't that prevent him from knowing Invisibility already? I think that's in his skillset atm?
