I used to go to this catholic church in van nuys, ca. They had a small choir of Tongan families. They have the most beautiful singing voices I ever heard.
Apologize to Tonga: I used to be a member of an United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where they had very faithful Tongan families who just wanted to be with their own people. I asked them how they could find other Tongan families to marry into since they were in the United States and not in Tonga. They had mentioned that Tongans were also in Australia but they did not mention that Tongans were in New Zealand too. They said that they could find other Tongan families to marry into. Oh yeah.😮
I am a Tongan myself, yet I can walk the streets without fear because that is how safe it is and how I feel, I'm not saying this because I live in Tonga! I don't I live in Australia and I go to Tonga every 2 years! The only threat there is the stray dogs.
Not true. Maybe if you live in a small village where you know people. You can't even walk through town or the waterfront at night without dickheads trying to pick on you or asking for money or someshit. Ask me for a smoke I say I got none then they hate and start swearing. Tongas full of haters.
Tongans can be rascist and rude sometimes but as long as you pull the "we all famiry" they're usually cool I've had plenty of cool convos with the so called bad apples in Tonga when I went
There is nothing wrong with that beautiful island and i would love to visit one day.....its not the end of the world guys...at least you are given another chance to rebuild yourself...have faith in God cos He will surely guide you in a straight path ☺☺
@@garethhancock8525 what part of my comment don't you understand? they came from a life of crime in the US, by coming to Tonga means they can get rid of that life and start again. They get to go to a place where they can feel safe, where they can rediscover their culture, language, always having a roof over their head, never to go hungry, work off the land, enjoy the beach, sea, food, and good weather need I say more? Otherwise the alternative is staying in Jail wasting your life away...I know which one I would choose.
The part I didn't understand is the part where you stated "they don't realise they actually have a second chance to start a new life "........ But they already are in life now, which would mean they would have to die to start new life
I liked the film. I just wish there were more interviews with other deportees who have different opinions of living in tonga, as well as people who have experienced or encountered the wrath of deportees. will there be a part 2?
they say it like Tonga is this petrifying place! it's sad that they're away from family and friends but I'm sure you knew better before acting the crime.
Neglected children of live-in elderly care mums and their faikava addicted fathers - they raise themselves- go figure finding a family with gangs. I remember when visiting states how odd it was to see an old Tongan man hooked on drugs
It's sad,but I guess not only Tonga but other Pacific islanders have to learn and realize countries have continued to change their laws and etc to protect the community and its citizens. I'm an islander, I once like them but sometimes have to stop. Tough, hard headed call whatever you want. But has they say, you start as a baby and end up like a baby. Meaning our strength doesn't stayed the same. My love goes out to all the islander support n engagement.
They should change their attitudes. Yes it is a culture shock, but it is also a chance at LIVING. Back in the ghetto, they would gave a waste of a life.
I never knew this about Tonga but wow. Those deportees thinking they are tuff and tongans are gonna be afraid of them cz they are gangstas from America next minute kokonut to the head lol
The real problem is the crack or heroin they're pushing on they're on people, but they won't say it here cause it's all connected to a certain govern.. i mean "group". But other than that the elders there can keep the younguns in place for the most part
Umm....how did you NOT have any idea that you was not a united state citizen ??? Thats kind of hard to believe based on the fact that we gotta work in the states and they ask that question in every job application , school application , to get a drivers license..... etc. Doesnt add up to me !
KAPELI VILI Wow you are pretty narrowminded. It's called "permanent resident" alien card. You can live and work under a green card and still not be a citizen, go to school, drive a car, etc. Have you never heard of that???? lol
Nahh i know that ! But she said she didn't know she wasnt a citizen. She knew damn well she wasnt a citizen why she tryna play dumb.lol. but anywayzz... best of luck to her....
KAPELI VILI Yeah, you are right! I did not look at it that way but they are criminals and will say anything to get out of taking responsibility for their actions :)
If you have a social security number, theres no reason to think you're NOT citizen. I have friends who was raised in Hawaii from when they were 4. They got deported in their late 20's and had no idea they weren't U.S. Citizens. Most employers dont check on a persons citizenship.

As for those being deported, they are corrupted by the ghettos and unruly life in America. However, they don’t endanger our people.
