Coming from iOS I wanted to check out an Android device. I have an iPad and iPhone but this TAB A surprised me. Not difficult to learn, ability to customize and split screen are huge pluses. Screen quality is fine, not Retina but very nice and conserves battery. Got mine from B&N for $100 on special and CS there is awesome. They set it up for me and I can walk in the store for tech support anytime. Overall I love this device.
True mine is still in immaculate condition, and i love it its slow, but the display is amazing the battery is insane, perfect for youtube, the build quality is great too. I was thinking of getting the new budget galaxy tab 7 lite 8.7 inch but ill keep this one for now.
@@KikoBG12 Nice. I'm also thinking of getting Tab A7. Not the lite version. If your Tab A6 is running fine and is completely working adequatetly to fulfill your needs, then you don't really need to upgrade. My cousin has this Tab A6 since launch, and I love using his as he kept it in great condition. He doesn't really use it anymore as he got himself Galaxy A52.

I was thinking of upgrading to it ,but i upgraded my phone(since i have tab a6 in perfect condition,and i dont need another tablet),best decision ever, for about the same price like 60 70 bucks more i got the most powerful budget phone ive ever had. 6 ram , SD 865+ , 128 gigs of storage, 120hz display. Its the POCO x3 Pro. Possibly the best value for money phone ever.
@@KikoBG12 Not going to lie, you made the best decision to get that phone. I personally really love Xiaomi products for their affordability and hardware. Your phone will last for quite a while without slowing in speed.

Thanks for the great in depth review Nick. I'm a Nexus 7 (2012) user and it is still going strong but my 4-year-old Samsung Galaxy Quatrro is failing on me. So this tablet is a perfect replacement for my Nexus 7 and Galaxy Quattro. My Tab A 7.0 is a cellular model. I don't need anything more than this. If I need anything more powerful, my desktop will do the job for my graphics and games with three monitors. My tablet is for reading and writing and browsing the web for references while on the go.

'Have to disagree though: This machine is WAY better than 'entry level,' and as long as you're willing to find out how, there's very little you can't get done on it. Full marks for the clarity, enough, and not too much detail, which has bumped me up from liking, to loving my Tab A.

Yes! Definitely helped! Only thing is no LTE ability but it's exactly what I need. I have a Windows phone , Lumia and Microsoft discontinued the sims free play for it and I'm excited to be playing it and watching Netflix on a bigger screen! Thank you. I feel I have made a wise purchase. 😄
Really good well detailed thorough review of this Tab and very well presented.I used to have the Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab a few years back and thought that was excellent. But right now my wife as just ordered a new phone on contract and this Tab comes with it, to which she is giving it to me for free. So I cannot complain about the specs between the old S2 Tab and this one at all. To be honest I think to have phones,cameras, or even email on any Tab is a waste of space especially how most people have a mobile phone anyway. So companies like Samsung would be a lot better if they never included them at all and concentrated on making the Tab a lot better with it's features and specs instead. For me personally this Tab is ideal because I only ever use such a thing in bed to watch stuff on TH-cam or play the odd piece of music and the odd game of Slots. Nothing that serious at all. So I do not need to be using my phone, and the advantage of the bigger display makes it much more that better too.
After watching your video upon this samsung galaxy tab, i made a purchase of it because mostly i will be using it for music wise and streaming internet radio at home. and this would be a great fit for it and plus the size is good. i dont want anything to small or to big. Mine is now 4 years old and it still runs ok. But that's only because I use a game booster and developer options and even with those it barely runs. Still, I think it's cool it still works

The device thar you were reviewing was SM-T280 ( look at 2:53 ). I have been using the similar phone with the different code-type. I use SM-T285 with LTE Single Sim-card.

Jan. 2019. I bought the Blackberry Tablet Playbook in 2015, and wow, the battery is still very strong, haha, tough as nails. But as everyone knows, they don't have Android software. :( Now i have a Samsung Tab A for my consolation prize.

I did buy one of these last week and the only complaint I have is with the sd slot, I cannot get the card in with just my finger I have to push it in with a pen point, I'm not sure if this is a flaw or not, Is anyone else having the same problem? Up to you. I ended up getting the Fire HD 8 because its cheaper and has more memory 16gb instead of 8gb on the galaxy tab 7.0. Its pretty sad that its 2016 and the galaxy tab 7.0 has 8gb of memory.

Great little tablet to watch movies/youtube in bed, powerful speaker, pleasant screen (not great but pleasant). Down side, the touch screen doesn't respond well to the touch, always has a delay like it didn't 'get' the touch. I've tested this touch issue on two different tablets, both have this issue. So clearly not a tablet for games, just good to watch movies on it.
I'm confused. You imply that the tablet is "stuck" with Lollipop, but then later you say that there is some way to upgrade to Marshmallow, so which is it? Specifically I would like to know if the 8.0 model upgrades to Marshmallow, and if so, how? Thanks.
David Ziffer The 8.0 version does have marshmallow. I got the update in late July. To update your tablet, go to settings and scroll all the way down to about device and click it. Then click on check for software updates or software updates. If one is available, you can download it
Love the Samsung Galaxy Tab a 7.0 touch accessibility is excellent you can quickly connect to wifi and Mobile hotspot bluetooth works great. Not a lot of bloatware very little to be exact. Tiny and slender similar to appearance of an iPad. Highly recommended and device can update to nougat just won't say anything other than lollipop.
I have a question for Nick or anyone. Does this Tab A7 7-inch comes in a newer size 10.4 inch as well??? The reason is Otterbox only shows as Tab A7 for 10.4 inch, just trying to verify.

Real racing 1, 2, etc. PUBG any battle royal game but fortnight, all racing games, Mortal combat 1 to 6 trust me, I've tried these games but if you have any concerns, maybe "I can't run those games" well maybe because..... well I'm sorry to say this but, You Currently Have Level 108Pjng Malaware. No this is not a flagship line, this is actually the mid range line. The E line is the budget tablets. If nougat comes to the S7 it will come to the tab A because they run nearly identical software!

Even after 5 years, it's still quite a great tablet supporting quite a lot of apps you need. Just don't expect it to run heavy games.

Do you consider the tab a line to be a flagship tablet..I have the 10.1 and i like it alot,you think the tab a will get nougat update.?
No this is not a flagship line, this is actually the mid range line. The E line is the budget tablets. If nougat comes to the S7 it will come to the tab A because they run nearly identical software!

I am considering of getting either a Samsung Tab A7 (2016 model) or a Samsung J3 Pro (2018 model). I like big screen display rather than 5 Inch screen, but J3 Pro do have better cameras & may be slightly faster overall, i think! What do you recomend & advise me to get ps? Tq & best rgds - jim ;)
