This radio will do me just fine. Hopefully I can import it here in Canada past the Turdo Lieberal Gestapo Regime. I live far enough up north that there wouldn't be any radio monitoring anyway. Its on my to get list. Great video. Stay safe and vigilant.
Thanks for the review , I ordered three of these " from China " to save $210.00 , I plan to set up a repeater station with two of them and and use the third for a mobile station in my work van so that I can stay in touch with family . Other than saving a few bucks on the radios themselves I decided to " buy once, cry once " on the rest of the gear. I bought a high quality Comet GMRS tuned antenna, Messi & Peloni coax , a quality GMRS tuned Duplexer. My antenna base will be 35' off the ground. I am hoping for a simplex range of 35 miles. I also purchased a Btec 30 amp power supply . You didn't mention if you were using a bench top power supply when you were testing, or what you were using as a power supply ? So I am kind of disappointed at the wattage output , but I guess you get what you pay for when buying from China lol ! .There is always increasing the height of my repeater antenna , and I can always add an amplifier to get me to 50 watts if I cant get my desired range . I also ordered a quality GMRS antenna and cable for my work van. I will get back to you with my WSR and Watts output if my outputs are different. My Messi $ Pelonni cable and connections cost me as much as all three radios did.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. Now that the video has been released I am going to contact the company and ask them if this is a common issue and how they propose to fix it, Maybe I just wound up with a "special" one
I'm finding out that pretty much all of them are like that, BTECH, Radioddity, etc. My GMRS 50v2 is also putting out 29-31w. My Radioddity DB25-G, which is supposed to put out 25, only puts out about 16-17. After a lot of back and forth with those guys, what I found out was that they measure the output at the RF deck, NOT at the antenna. Then they tell you that it's because of your antenna system (um, dummy load??), and that it's because of low quality meters (because THEY use an oscilloscope...so there.) I tried to tell them it's bs because they are not taking into account the attenuation in the radio between the RF deck and the antenna, which is as high as 20% in a lot of people's cases, and that in my opinion, it's false advertising. Seems like this is a GMRS thing, ham radios report it at the antenna because we legally HAVE to know.

Very happy with mine. Didn’t realize they only put out 30 or so watts

my RJ45 to K1 does nothing. it lets me menu dive, but no keying up or anything, even after changing the settings on menu 64 to "EAR+SP".
Wire that up to your car.. running… you will get 52-54 watts
I could not believe the difference, I have it on one of my “shorts.”

My kg1000+ is a 50 watt radio it does 52watts!
Can you open up that radio to do ham VHF and UHF frequencies
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment! To my knowledge you cannot open up the frequencies to get VHF/UHF.
I see 50w & 5w mentioned, yet there was a MED power setting - just what does that setting yield?
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. If memory serves, it should be around 20 watts.
