The point of the scene with Theon and the wildling is that Theon is technically a captive - the Starks have him in order to keep his father from rebelling again. So in his experience guest and prisoner have a lot more overlap than he was showing the woman.
Thanks for this! At this point it hadn't been fully explained so I thought they had basically adopted Theon because he was a orphan or something. But, I'm in season two over on Patreon now so it's become very clear that's not the case. lol
@@BritanyBinges it comes out a bit pretty early with his conversation with Tyrion in episode 4 - but it's kind of quick and there's a lot going on so it's not weird that you didn't have that in mind in this moment for ep 7
Something that is way more apparent in the book than the show is Ned is traumatised by the death of Rhaegars children and is desperate for it not to repeat with Cersies
That actually makes a lot of sense. It's clear in the show that Ned prefers to avoid conflict when it's possible and that he values the lives of women and children while others obviously don't, but I didn't think about the fact that he's seen what can happen to a King's children when they die and there's a transition of power. Of course he would want to prevent that from happening again if he could.
Charles Dance insisted on learning to skin a real stag to make that scene real but it has been said that it doesn't make sense for Tywin to be doing the butchering as it would have been beneath him due to his status. In a cut scene we see Tywin also fishing so IMO hunting/fishing is Tywin's main release from the stress of his position & cleaning his kills is part of that release. It should be noted that 2 stags were used & due to retakes the tent didn't smell very nice & made some of the crew & actors feel sick by the end of filming so props to them for enduring that for the sake of realism.
One thing the show didnt understand about Littlefinger: Hes not a moustache twirling villain. I mean, sure, he is as bad as those or worse, but his whole shtick is being everyones friend, if the lords and ladies from powerful houses mistrusted him he would never be able to climb into a powerful position. So if you ever find yourself wondering why Show-Littlefinger is where he is or advances where he advances, the answer is that hes apparently more like his book-self offscreen, who knows.
LF is a not a moustache twirling villain on the show. That's silly and reductive. To the contrary, LF worms his way into a lot of people's trust by feeding them just enough information so that he is worth keeping around. Not everyone buys it - like Varys - but enough do to keep him in power.

I was wondering if someone explained this to her. 👍

I believe the stag that Tywin is butchering at the beginning of the episode actually was real.
Yup he's done that in his personal life many times. So it worked out good there.

I thought I read he was experienced at doing that with the stag from his personal life ?
The stag is real

Stannis is Robert's brother (middle brother, while Renly is the youngest).
We haven't seen him yet, they only talked about him a few times.
0:51 It looks real because it is a real seer he is butchering.
I don’t think you need to apologize for or tone down your rants. There are way too many Khal Drogo apologists already.
