I watched 2 minutes of this video and drove up to my local auto parts dealer, purchased and replaced the passenger side bulb myself with the tools they provided me. I was in and out in about 7 minutes, thanks to you guys!
Thank so much!!! I am so grateful for your help, Mike. I am a single mom, just coming off of welfare and doing everything I can to keep our 99 Corolla in good shape. It has 149K miles on it and I need it to keep us moving for as long as I can. I have a great mechanic (Tico, in Sparks, NV) but willing to do any work myself....as long as it is not too complicated. I am so proud of myself! You are much appreciated!!!
I'm a single mom too, and we have to be everything, including mechanic sometimes. your willingness to try do any work yourself puts you in the category of super!! I salute you!! you're awesome!
Thank you so much for this video! You have no idea how many things I’ve been able to fix on my car myself due to your videos and the ability to buy these parts. Love it!
Wow ! I'm a good handi-man but this saved me a TON of time on my 2001. Best surprise ?! Bulbs were included in the assembly ! Aloha and mahalo nui loa 1A Auto ! Great service.
Gotta keep my baby up and running. Gonna have to do this soon. I got a feeling this is going to be the most difficult thing I’ve had to repair on my car by myself so far, but it’s gonna be worth it. I’ll actually be able to see! Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this video. I bought my first car a few months ago and this was something I had to do tonight on my own, and I was able to do it perfectly. You rock!
Just here with another thank you comment. Someone hit me and broke my headlights on the collision. This video was very helpful for someone new to this like me.
You might not need to. If you watch the begining of the video, there's a screw on the top of the corner light in the engine bay to remove, then you need to pry the light free with a flathead screw driver.
Thank you for the light bulb removal procedure. It's exactly what I needed. My car is 23 years old with 140K original miles. I would not spend money on new headlight assemblies. I used a headlight rubbing compound and easily reconditioned them. The product cost less than $10. They look pretty awesome.
Thank you for the video. I never would have figured out how to change the headlight bulb on my 1999 Toy Cor without it. My car was a lot greasier than the one you worked on and the cable socket was full of slimy gunk. I think the car may be getting old. I appreciate the video showing me how to change the bulb given that your company doesn't even sell the bulb according to your website. So that's a true civic service.
Thank you for watching our auto repair video. you may want to join an automotive forum (message board) for your vehicle to see if any of the members have done this already. They may be able to tell you exactly what you would need to change. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
If you have an aftermarket one, usually the instructions will tell you where to connect it to. If you go to Honda-Tech com one of the forum members should be able to help you.
@Cooper White What happens is the plastic on your headlights degrades over time, and there isn't a way to repair the lenses other than by replacing them. Hi! Do I need to remove the bumper cover to adjust my 01's headlights? I really appreciate your vids. It saves me money on the 'small' things and helps cut the crap when I do have to swipe the card.
You may be able to grab them with a set of pliers, and pull them back up. make sure the battery is disconnected first though. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
@spookypie indeed. '01's have a combination of 9006 and 9005 bulbs for Hi and Low beams respectively. The one showed in the video has an H4 bulb which combines Hi and Low beams in the same bulb. (easier to work with) The '01's must be twisted out of the way, but I think the same procedure applies; remove the DRL Relay Box and the Battery to make installation a breeze. Have to change them in my wife's car today. Time to get messy.
Thank you for the video I was able to install my headlights.... I have 2001 only one thing tricky I had to do because my bumper did not come off real easy but I got around it and I did it!! I was worried I couldn’t myself, I’m grateful for your help! 🙏♥️🦋🕊

It may have been help full to put cerakote coating on the head lights and side markers , allowed it to dry , then install the lights . Some of the cheaper lights corrode in a short time .
Would you mind making a video of how to install a tachometer on 1999 toyota corolla. I'm not an auto tech so I don't know where to find the rpm wiring outside the hood
I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla. If I just need to replace the side light housing do I really need to take the entire front bumper cover off? I've been watching other videos for different model years and its not quite this complicated.
no there should be an adjisting screw on the back of the headlight.Park the car 25' from a wall or garage door, then you can see the beam move and also line up as you turn the adjuster. hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
