Rawai, Patong or Bang Tao - Finding Your Ideal Monthly Stay Spot!
Traveling as a tourist versus living as a nomad comes with its own unique challenges. Why? Because both groups have different needs. Plus, paying daily tourist prices can get way too expensive when you’re also working and staying somewhere long-term. That’s why finding a place with long-term benefits becomes more important.
If you have the time to explore and stay at places for a day to see how you feel, that’s amazing! If not, I’m sharing my experiences from driving through and spending time in some of Phuket’s key areas: Patong, Rawai, and Bang Tao.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Ive been in Thailand on the DTV for less than a month. I wpuld very much like to get a thai bank account so I can use their QR code to Pay system. It seems so efficient and easy. Is there a way or is it only for the retirement visas? 2nd question, when I decide to go home after 180 days for vacation, do I need to get a re-entry visa? Or does my DTV stamp is good enough? Thanks!
Hi, thanks so much for watching-you’re welcome here! 😊 In my latest video, I share some tips on finances that might be helpful: th-cam.com/video/6rGNJgyhvNk/w-d-xo.html Regarding the DTV: It’s a 5-year visa with a 180-day stamp each time you enter, with the option to extend for another 180 days while in the country. I haven’t personally gone through a re-entry or extension yet, but based on the standard rules, I’m not sure I fully understand your question about a re-entry visa. Could you clarify a bit? Let me know how it goes for you-I’d love to hear about your experience! 💬
@aniquefleur my understanding with other multi-entry visas, when you leave thailand you need an exit stamp and pay for a reentry visa. Am I incorrect?
He, I dont know about other multi-entry visas, as I haven’t received one myself. To my knowledge, the DTV is a 5-year visa, with a 180-day stamp each time you enter, and the option to extend for another 180 days while in Thailand. You’ll typically receive an exit stamp upon departure if you leave the country. Is there a reason to worry that this information is not correct? I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes or if you learn anything new-I’d love to hear about your experience. 💬
Amazing tips, I would love to be a nomad!
Thank you! Hope you will
Keep up the amazing content!! Always looking forward to your tips! Hit me up the next time your in Bangkok!

And you're a lawyer You think of it regular layperson is going to be able to figure out how to file all that crap without 14 trips to the embassy I don't think so well they're letting people in for 90 days with no vetting whatsoever doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Hi, Thank you for your feedback! I’d love to hear more about your thoughts-it could be helpful for future videos. While I’m not a practicing lawyer, I do have a background in International Tax Law, which helps me navigate processes like these. Consulting a professional is a good idea if you’re looking for official personalized advice or legal guidance. I aim to share my experience as a regular person staying long-term in Thailand, making the process easier and understandable for others in similar situations. I also create content for people curious about this lifestyle-whether it might be something for them or just to learn more. I’m working on free resources about Remote Living, Wellbeing, and Online Creative Entrepreneurship, so stay tuned if you’re interested! 🙏

I think I’ll just try and pay them and skip all the tests
yeah you can try doing the exam without the tests. Not sure if they offer that, but who knows. Good luck
Can you help me 🙏
He thanks for reaching out. I have been an applicant like you and made a video about it. So, I´m not sure, what help do you need?
@aniquefleur I want to travel to the Netherlands

Great info. Do the driving school provide a bike for you to practice and take a test? what about helmets?
Thank you and you are welcome. Yes at my school they had motorbikes and helmets for practice and exam.
Fijn!
Did you pet it? hahaha. I cant wait to visit Moo Deng in Pattaya!
haha no, maybe in the future ;) Pretty fascinating how comfortable and at ease the snake and the guy are. Interesting ¨energy¨
Highly recommend Mexico city too as an easy intro to nomadic working for people traveling from the americas good start before relocating across the world. I did 3 years in mexico city when i first went to digital nomadic life
Ahaaa, I heard the place coming by. Good to hear a recommendation from you, indeed especially when you are from America! Thanks!
Thats awesome! My goal is to post more on my instagram and add social media to my companies brand
That´s great I love this shorts, because its personal. Thanks for sharing your goals to!
How hard was getting the drivers license? Were they ok with the DTV for a 5yr license?
Yes, once you have the documents, which was a pretty straight forward process, they give it to you easily. The 5 year visa is ok for permanent license. Make sure to be on time for extending your temporarily one. Rumours say you can get it earlier than 2 years if in need of an international license. Have no experience with this myself.
How much does it cost ?
Hi, I paid a low season price. This was around 8,100 bath per week which includes a private room, 2 times of training a day, a daily ice bath and smoothie from Mo - Sa. Nutrition can be ordered separately or in combination with a package, like personal training, massage, etc. I did a bronze package for one week. Which was 7,900 bath for the week which included two private trainings, 3 daily meals and 2 massages.
I love watching you kick ass!
Jaaaj! Thank you :D
Love this video! I cant wait to try Muay Thai. Looks like you had a great time!
Thank you! Yeah, it´s an amazing sport and exercise :)
I am Thai...I have land for you and good expats
Can I use this instead of Non-O marrige visa? That is every year I have to apply for that.
He, I´m glad that you are on my channel and watch my video´s. Wondering why you would want to change visa? Sadly this is not a topic I am covering at this moment and I cannot help you with it. Thanks for your question and for reaching out.
@@aniquefleur Easier with a 5 year visa than apply every year.
Ah okej, I understand then. 🙏 What might be relevant for you is that it is a 180 days stamp per entry which is extendable with another 180 days inside the country. After that you have to leave Thailand and come back. So far, the extension rules are unknown. Rumours are it might cost 1900 bath (like a normal extension) and that you might need to show proof of some documents again, fe the bank statements.
How do you like the DTV Visa? Has going in and out been smooth?
Well, it is very very nice. I have not been moving out and moving in yet, and also not extended yet. Thank you for sharing your question, if I have experience with this, I have new inspiration for sharing videos! :D
Can you explain more about getting the documents translated?
Hi there, thanks for your comment. My documents were in Dutch and/ or English already, or available for an English version. For example, my Dutch diplomas were issued by the Institute in two languages (English and Dutch) and my bank statements had an English option available on the website. This was sufficient for my application.
How long am I supposed to wait to enter Thailand, once the DTV is approved. I got mine approved in September end and I am planning to enter Thailand in mid Feb. is it fine?
Hee, thanks for your reply. I´m wondering, where does this feeling of doubt come from? Personally, I have not seen your visa approval, so its a bit hard to help you with this. The date of the DTV should be on the visa, beginning date and end date with a 5 year time period in between. Entering Thailand in between this period makes you eligable for entry, make sure to share that you have this visa and that you would like to use it. Cheers Anique
@HumanLinkCenter 0 วินาทีที่ผ่านมา Would you like to make Thailand your new home & set up community for expats like yourself...
Aaah that is an idea that passes my mind, but for now I´m still visiting on a longterm DTV visa. Who knows in the future
Like to know how you call yourself a "digital nomad" if you intend to stay here 5 years!
He, thanks for your reply, and I will try to defend myself. Where did I say that I am intending to stay for 5 years? It is a visa valid for 5 years. If you are curious of knowing more about me and my journey I happily refer you to my TH-cam bio, there you can know more why I use the term digital nomad. Cheers and thanks again for replying.
Looks like new as of Oct 8th 2024 you can apply online and dont have to go to the embassy :) if you in vietnam
Yes! Is true, most embassies are online now. I think that is good news, but what I am not sure about is ... offline they checked your documents before taking the payment. Online, I don´t know. So it would be good to check that on other videos or facebook group.
@@aniquefleur i do wonder when it activates, is it when you enter thailand for the first time and get that first stamp, or date when it is issued, meaning if like you i get my DTV Issued in vietnam and after issued i decide to spend a month or 3 in japan lets say then enter thailand does it start once u get it issued or when you enter, hope it makes sense
Hi, The 5-year DTV period starts at the moment of issuance. The 180 days stamp will start at every entrance moment in Thailand. Hope this clarifies.
Nice contents, thanks for sharing
Thank you for your support! Thats amazing!
Nice contents, Like #11
Thank you so much
Good day from PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Good day from Phuket Thailand
Did they tell your paperwork was good BEFORE taking the payment?
They didnt officially said it was approved, but they checked everything before and asked for additional information before taking the payment. From all the offline visa applications I did with Thailand, it has been like this, also with tourist visa. Now they go to the online application, and I don´t know how that works with this as I assume you have to pay during application, so it might be different. I did hear they ask for additional information when needed during the process, but I don´t know what happens if you are not able to comply when the visa fees are paid. I recommend to check this specifically.
Thanks for showing the condo, pretty cool. Might be an option for the next stay.
He Matthias! Awesome, good to hear from you. Hope all good
Wow what a great info! We just had international one for our travels 🤩 never had problem!
Great! And thanks for watching and for the compliment. Enjoy your rides 😎
Thailand is both difficult and dangerous to drive in. Especially motorcycles. Statistically the number one reason for injury in Thailand is motorbike accident, PS. I lived there for five years and rode a motorcycle for all five years to and from work.
Thanks, I would like to defend my passion for Motorbike Driving 😉. Indeed, there is a risk involved and driving carefully is recommended.
It's "Baht" not "Bath" 😑
Oh my god, such a big mistake! Thanks for bringing this to the awareness
Thanks Anique, very useful!
you are very welcome :) Thanks for watching
Super useful information!
Nice ! 😁🌿
I’m right behind you. Going to Transport in Pattaya next week.
Great, hopefully it all goes smoothly for you
How did it go
and what if you already have a motorcycle license from another country?
He, as far as I am aware you need an international driving permit, which you can apply for in the license´s country if applicable to you. There is also an online International License service available, but I heard mixed signals on the validity of it. So, best to receive the internation Driving License at the country of the license when available for you.
The background music is very annoying!! But thanks for the tips
aaah really! oh noooo, can imagine if the background music feels annoying that it can disturb the video for you. Thanks for watching anyways and for engaging!
@@aniquefleur It was hard to hear you with the music and a massive distraction. No need. Keep the videos coming though!!

Why the loud background music, it's distracting and does nothing to support your video.
@woodshome11 thanks for the feedback!
Great job , well done
Thank you 😀 ☺
I’m doing business in India can I apply this visa ? I have company Certificate and e-commerce site proof is it possible Mam 😊
Hello, thank you for your question. If you would like to apply for this visa as a Remote worker, they might ask for a portfolio and an official business registration. Think about client referrels or contracts, and the work you are performing. If the things you are mentioning are sufficient or not, that is difficult for me to determine. Sorry, that I can not give you the answer that you are hoping for. I can only share the information that I have and the experience I heard from fellow nomads. Also, please consider the other requirements as mentioned in the video. Thank you.
I just got approved for my DTV visa also, I applied online as I'm in Europe, I take it I just arrive to Thailand and they will have my visa on there system now? because when online they make you pick an embassy anyway which was London for me. they did send me a little receipt with a QR code, I take it I just show this to the immigration and I'll get my 180 day stamp?
He yes, congratulations! Thanks for sharing. I did my application offline and not online. So I have not been in a similar situation like that. Nevertheless, when applying for another country online, for example Vietnam, I printed my visa and showed it at immigration and i received the stamp related to that visa. I assume it is the same with this visa in Thailand. When I arrived they asked me the purpose and length of stay and after answering they gave me the 180 days stamp. I was very excited to receive so much on this stamp. I heard that you have to do 90 days report when staying longer term. Will be new for me to, but something for you to take into account as well. Good luck.
