This shoe is super good, so comfortable, best for easy run, Long run and recovery run. I have ASICS Superblast 2, Novablast 4, Nimbus 25, Metaspeed Sky, Adidas Pro 3, Puma Nitro Elite 2… Brooks Glycerin Max is the most comfortable one.
I wear size 11 US in all brands. This Glycerin Max length is tts for me in 11 US, but width is too wide and roomy for my regular feet. Fit is 4/5 but the midsole is a solid 5/5. Best cushion shoe I've had. Soft, squishy, cushy, and bouncy. Such a dream !!!
Fantastic Matt. Thank you for this follow up. I was skeptical about this shoe since it doesn't come in 2E.....but this is the ONLY shoe i have had success in D width. Big fan so far....
Excellent breakdown! I also just rolled over 100 miles on mine. Absolutely great shoe. True to size for me (men’s 11), my feet are more on the narrow side and I have no issues at all with the upper/toe box/ heel, etc. And yes the outsole still looks brand new! I’m betting these go to 600+ miles. Mainly daily w/strides and recovery runs for me. Anyway, thanks again for posting!
I have 50 miles in mine. At first I found it to be too soft, but I swapped out the stock insoles for a Powerrun+ pair from a Triumph 20 and they were transformed. Enjoying them for easy and long runs
Agree with the stiffness, the upper is tight on the lateral side that initially would numb my pinky and surrounding area for the first couple of miles of a run. Otherwise toe box is quite spacious, no fit issue for me. Now after over 100 miles (mostly short runs, only one time 10miler), the shoe really got broken in, no more stiffness no more numbness, very smooth to run in. Also agree that it feels like a zero drop, pushes me landing on forefoot and uses calf more. It is built like a tank, I expect to get no less than 800miles out of the pair
Thanks for the video, in the middle of marathon training (Chevron Houston Marathon), have been alternating between Topo Specter 3, which I picked up after viewing one of your videos, and yes, Triumph 20.
I’ve been looking for a good easy/long run shoe to replace my year-plus-old Gel Kayano 30s and On Cloudflyer 4s (both of which I used for walking as well), especially as I get more into training for London in April. I think I’ll give this one a shot and see how things go.
I love this shoe! I think you’re right about sizing. I’m a 10.5 which is the size I got but I’m on the fence about it due to some slight pressure on my pinky toes. An 11 would probably eliminate it but I’m still feeling it out. It might just be in my head since the shoe is so expensive. I agree the price is very much worth the experience and durability.
I hate that this shoe doesn’t work for me. Tried my usual size, went a half size up, no matter what the shoes shape, seemingly from the foam on the inner right-side on the left foot at the mid foot and the inner left side on the right foot would take chunks of skin off of my feet, worst blisters I have ever experienced. A lot of folks seem to feel it’s wide, I don’t see how. I have a regular D width foot and this shoe as well as the More V5 seems to have this weird inner foam cradle construction that just pushes against the sides of your feet causing bad blisters. Really hope brooks corrects it in the next version. I really enjoyed the rocker, the foams underfoot feel and the upper, it was a great shoe, unfortunately didn’t work for me without injuries.
I also have this issue (I returned the glizzy for this reason- and had to sell the more V5 after 20 miles) with a lot of max cushioned shoes. The sidewalls of foam provide the stability but for me - and anyone with flatter feet / mild pronation will rub the inner arch and get horrible blisters. This is exacerbated by the sink into the foam to intensify that rub. I really enjoyed my short run and am glad it was only a 3.5 mile loop- I was planning to do 3 loops but had to cut it short.
Hey Matt, recently picked these up and have gotten about 75 miles on them. I’ve noticed 3 Achilles flare ups since wearing them, I feel the heel is too soft and it sinks in while the mid/forefoot remains rather firm. I would this be a recipe for Achilles tendinitis?
Yes! The low drop and softer heel will put you at an even lower drop when you load the back. I have found myself gravitating toward a more forward foot strike in this shoe for that reason. -Matt
@DoctorsofRunning thanks Matt, due to my extensive heel striking and increased mileage due to marathon training I don’t think it will be in my rotation anymore. Curious to know if this would be the same with the new adidas AP4? Or is the forefoot and heel more of a balanced foam and softer across the entire midsole
@ what shoe rotation would you recommend someone 6’1 235lbs coming from the bodybuilding world. I just put 400mi on my Nike invincible 3s and I’m looking for a new daily trainer and a race day shoe. My foot is wide with a high arch, but it’s not wide enough for the special wide sizes. My shoes are still a regular D width.
I only have 30 miles on my pair but they're absolutely nothing like the 1080 v13 in my experience. 1080v13 is super soft, I'd even say mushy whereas the glizzy max, as he stated, starts off feeling rather firm. I'm a mid to forefoot striker and was nervous about this foam but think it's going to be a great daily companion for me. I logged a 14 miler over the weekend and it was enjoyable. Starting to break in it seems. The rocker also feels really good, rolls through the paces much better and naturally than I anticipated.

Fit true to size for me, love it , ran a sub 4 marathon and some fast 10ks really impressive.
This shoe is super good, so comfortable, best for easy run, Long run and recovery run.

Brooks Glycerin Max is the most comfortable one.
Just rolled over 200km on mine today, the outsole looks brand new still and they feel just as good as they did brand new. Love this shoe
My favorite max cushion shoe by far. Glad I chose the Brooks Glycerin Max over the Puma max cushion option.

did you get true to size and if so, how does it feel? im also a 2E and was skeptical on it
@RadYudoka I went true to size. They are a size 12 US with a D width. I am happy with them for sure

Man I thought this was going to be a negative one going off the thumbnail
Have to keep folks guessing

The most comfortable shoe I've run in and yes half a size up.
Did you mean you go half size up for this shoe, or this shoe half size up for your feet?
@@userwaga Go up half a size
Love this shoe.

Thanks for the video. Got the Black version. Should be here tomorrow. Can’t wait! Was able to utilize my medical discount as well.

My favorite shoe right now
Please come with an updated review on the Asics Glideride Max
How long does it take to break it in 🙄??
I possess one pair and made my second run today in. Waouh I really like them. I liked the ghost max but I do prefer this one.
Absolutely love them❤
I find I have to buy UK 8.5. Now size it’s either a US 9 or 9.5 depending on brand.
Have you guys done on video on sizing disparities?
is it good to use for a marathon?

may I ask is it ok enough for a wide feet. I'm using novablast 4 and I find the toe box pretty comfy
the only issue I have had with this shoe is that depending on the sock the upper on my right foot rubs a lot for some unknown reason
Can you wear an orthotic with this?
@@theelusivememe1772 yes absolutely. Go up a half size though
@DoctorsofRunning ok thxs
Dude talked so fast he ripped his chapped lip open during the video 😂
How are these compared to the Ghost Max 2s? I found a pair for $110 new
Ghost Max 2 really is just for those with orthotic needs and want a stable walking shoe. Not really recommended runner for us right now

I saw you, and your wife, at today's Turkey Trot.
@@fidelbanuelos9601 that was us! My wife raced and did great! -Matt
@DoctorsofRunning Yeah, I saw in the results. Which Hoka's were you wearing?
@ the Hoka Mach x 2! Just got them so getting testing miles on them!
@DoctorsofRunning Nice. Looking forward to the review.
I love these shoes, but the lacing system is too cluttered. I really don't wanna cut the laces in half for a $200 shoe :/
Is this as soft as like a 1080?
I only have 30 miles on my pair but they're absolutely nothing like the 1080 v13 in my experience. 1080v13 is super soft, I'd even say mushy whereas the glizzy max, as he stated, starts off feeling rather firm. Does anyone else get horrible tongue migration from the non-gusseted tongue? It's a pretty good shoe otherwise though
I wear us 12 in 99% of shoes, this shoe fits short for me.
It's a very roomy shoe. Unless you have wider feet....I'd stay away from this one.
