Well it's Alatreon's ability to control all elements and that when breaking the horns or crests on his head, it causes that ability to become unstable.
A detail I noticed with Alatreon that makes it feel more like a Black Dragon to me is the fact the lightning it summons doesn't sound like what you typically expect lightning crashing to sound like.
Something I noticed is that a lot of Alatreon's sounds have a distinct rumbling and feel to them, A lot of his roars give off a seismic rumbling mixed with predator noises and the chimes of bells mixed in. He has a lot of horror sound effects mixed in, like high shrill stingers. I believe they used horses for reference when making his sounds. His lightning is so quiet as I believe that in reality it's so loud that the sound doesn't travel correctly. But that's just my thoughts.
mh3u was my first mh and mhworld was the most i played and alatreon was a tough battle in both. after like 10 carts to alatreon in iceborne when the mission launched, i finally heared the victory theme after 2 carts and with time limit getting closer, i instantly reconized the theme from 3. I got goosebumps and teared up a little because of the memories. Mh is one of my fav franchise. i've been playing since i'm a child.
Hey! Thanks for messaging, I have recently moved home and have little time to do these! I will be getting around to other monsters and biomes soon enough!
My least favorite fight in the game. Never beat it with the elemental gimmick, couldn't ever get it to proc in multiplayer, and only once solo per attempt. Only ever killed it once legit and that was only after fully farming fatalis and throwing elemental in the garbage where it belongs. Nice intimidating track though.
Kinda hard to listen to without hearing oil splashing, fire blazing, ice shattering, and thunder cracking from time to time.
Don't forget dragon element sound

Fire content my man. Can't wait for the Safi Medley with the target music or the Velk Medley with the at velk reverse chase theme in.
