I love that Alatreons water attacks are actually oil which is why the puddles he leaves on the floor are flammable. The idea that he releases the chemicals in his flame sac without igniting it are the kind if little details that make Monster Hunter so cool.
Honestly I assumed it was just water infused with dragon element in it which made it burn out of the water when connecting with the fire. This made sense to me because Alatreon's Icicles have dragon element inside them as well and react to the thunder exploding in the process, it seems dragon element is very volatile but yes, that could be the case too.
I think Alatreon went to the secluded valley for two possible reasons. One way was that he was the only Dragon strong enough to fulfill Nergigante’s role of being the balancing force of nature. Two being he went there to steal Safi’Jiva’s Bio-Energy for more power, making him the Vergil of Monster Hunter.
Couple of things: 1) Alatreon has 4 forms-when the element is suppressed, it has a neutral form with unique appearance (no glow) and unique hitzones. (Also as people have discovered in custom quests, Alatreon can spawn in neutral and then will randomly switch to either fire or ice) 2) Alatreon *can* switch between fire and ice instantly, it does so in the cutscene where it transitions from ice to fire mid-step. It just doesn't do so in gameplay, or more likely as a mechanism for charging Eschaton Judgment. As this is a lore video, saying Alatreon cannot do so is inaccurate. 3) As many have noted, breaking the horns doesn't weaken Eschaton, messing with its elemental state with elemental damage does (notably every time this happens, Alatreon loses its elemental form and returns to the unmentioned neutral form). Breaking the horns messes with its ability to switch elements in the order it chooses. Other than that loved the unique footage (how are you getting that, it's so cool!) and talking about how it affects the environment and lighting. That being said is it really the only one that does so? It definitely does it the most, but I've definitely notice the sky and lighting change when Teostra walks around; there's embers and ash in the air, the clouds move quickly, and the lighting takes on a reddish tint.
@@Sentient_Bread_Slice To clarify on these: 1) Alatreon's '4 forms' are a bit weird, its base 'form' I wouldn't personally count as a unique form - and it seems it always defaults to 'Dragon' whenever it can, or at least builds up to it. Those roars after an elemental KO are it reapplying energy to itself so it can continue its assault on you. Some would also say its 'flying attacks' are a form unto themselves based on terminology back in Gen 3, but that's not a true shift in powers. Put simply Alatreon will shift from converting dragon to fire or ice for a good period of time, switch it to the opposite with kickback, or have it all burn out into Dragon. He's a jack of all trades when it comes to abusing elemental weaknesses. 2) Yep, that's 100% accurate; gameplay wise it'd be unfair if he can just swap back and forth with ease, but lorewise Alatreon's got no bars held on how it wants to freeze you in one moment and then boil you alive in the next. It's what makes him so damn dangerous, the guy will break your homeostasis over time - or just tactically shift elements to avoid damage. Yes; Alatreon is legit intelligent enough to have those kinds of deliberate actions. He's a smart antisocial lad. 3) Breaking the horns seems to stagger his ability to shift elements, at least in gameplay mechanics - a crucial fact to know so he doesn't switch to an element you can't counter and allows it to properly build up stored energy to nuke you. Due to the abundance of dragon we CAN surmise that its abundance of dragon makes elemental discharging rather frequent - and with enough elemental damage it can basically halt that huge burst of a chemical reaction we all dread called Escaton Judgement. And as for the other elders; gameplay wise only elders that can be encountered on normal expeditions change the weather (aside from Nergigante). Lorewise, you can expect blizzards, ashfall, and thunder storms at the same time if Alatreon were to show up in a biome for one of the rare moments it probably needs to eat (there is no lore stating it eats rocks like Teostra or whatnot - so its possible it has an absurdly high metabolism that it requires to convert that much dragon energy, but it still needs to eat everyone once in a while) - though at this point its theorycrafting based on very little information we got about the Blazing Black Dragon.
I have a theory. I think we may have to reconsider the definition of elements by the mere existence of Alatreon. 3:40 - water moves of Alatreon are some sort of oil, which we later found are flammable to his fire attacks. Oil are just liquids, or fluids, to be exact, which is featured also in Mitzusune in the form of soapy puddles, a suspension of oil. So it seems, the word 'water' covers quite a broad class of substances here. He also spits fire, which is just an indication of a chemical reaction. A stream of compressed flammable gas can be lit on fire to make a flamethrower. And any flammable gas that rapidly expands, makes an explosion. Alatreon's attacks with fire has both. It works like how propane and petroleum were lit together. So what about ice and thunder? One would thought ice are simply freezed water, but like how it isnt water that's lit by the fire, 'ice' couldn't possibly glow a mysterious red then explode. Rather, it could be some sort of reactive 'crystal' that's agitated from the energy of thunder. After all, at low enough temperatures, matter simply exist as solid, or loosely interpreted, their 'ice' state. Finally we have the fourth state of matter, plasma, manifested in the form of lightning, highly ionized, energetic air molecules. We just choose to call them thunder. Wrapping these up, you're beginning to see Alatreon's moves are about the *state* of matter - Solid (crystal), Liquid (oil), Gas (fire), and Plasma (thunder). The elements are just manifests of Alatreon's innate ability to manipulate the state of matter. The is where the MH universe shares similarities to our physical realm. Humans IRL could only be the kings of the physical realm once all 4 forms of matter are mastered. One puzzle is left - The Dragon element. For how Black Dragons are known for their intimate connection to this element, I think this is just the lifeline and power source of all Elder Dragons, that is, dragon magic. As all elder dragons can have their abilities effectively sealed by dragon element attacks, they are the double-edged sword energy that exists in all dragon lifeforms. Maybe Alatreon relies on it to gain matter controlling abilities. Maybe it also is the bioenergy prominently discussed in World and Iceborne. Like how black dragons are said to defy human understanding, it is by far the most mysterious element, and I think, It could originate from a plane of existence not comparable to our real world.
Have you seen Lockston's video on what the Dragon type in Pokemon really is? Basically it's raw arcane magic. The Pokemon Dragonite can learn Fire, Ice, Water and Electric type moves. With that in mind, I like your idea of Dragon magic. Maybe, though I highly doubt it, Alatreon came from the Pokemon world. Perhaps it was banished like Giratina. Or perhaps it is a creation from the ancient civilization.
@@saphiriathebluedragonknight375 I really didn't drew the connection until you mention this, but then i watched the part of that video about classical dragons I can see where you are coming from. At least the dragon type is established very similiarly in terms of the mystic part. Funny thing is, you could think of an equivalent Pokemon in the MH universe for examples like Shantien and Dalamadur, even Deviljho which is just a 'T Rex that breathes dragon element', so pretty much Tyrantrum then. And their 3 star weakness? The Dragon element, which in the Pokemon universe is also most effective against its own self, apart from all other physical elements. It wouldn't surprise me if the two franchises conceptualized the element in a very similar fashion way back then.
Dragon elements has always had some anabolizer properties, it is able to suppress other elements while powering up the phisical strenght of the user(like deviljho), the lockstin video on drgon type is really interesting as he brands dragon element as an elements that contains and manipulates other elements wich is present both in pokemon and monster hunter. I find it interesting that dragon element has a plasma like property when compressed or interacting with other elements check the examples= valstrax: it uses dragon element crompressed with air to make plasma jets of energy and even projectiles, this means that dragon element likes react with elements and this interaction creates a massive discharge of energy deviljho= while we know that jhojo boi uses it to power its body the most interesting thing is its turf wars, notice that when he does a beam clash with other elder dragons the dragon elements behaves like it does with valstrax, it absorbs the elements and then it discharges a massive explossion that knocksout both deviljho and the elder dragon. the is also the interesting factor that picklessaurus dragon element is more gas based rather than energy based wich means that it can reash plams like properties but it lacks the proper reactions to become plams like heat pressure, this is confirmed dues to savage debiljho dragon breath attacks that are more compressed and have small but really bright bolts of plasma dragon energy stygian zinogre: it it intersting that zinogre, an originaly eletric monster, can work with dragon energy just as well, it seems that batery like components are able to store dragon element, zino and stygian zino have this quirk that they need to get their elemental properties from bugs that generate that element, and since stygian can only use plasma dragon enegy it means that something is reacting iside its body to store the elments just like a batery storing electricity then we have alatreon wich can use all elements, the thing I love about esctatons judgement is that it really explains how alatreon can change temperatures without damaging it self, dragon active mode acts as a supressor to make fire active and ice active change less radical, dragon active cools alatreon while in fire active bu it heats him on ice active, witch explains why we can make escaton judgement less dangerous by either using the opposite elements or using dragon element on alatreon. the phisical properties of dragon elements have an interesting consistency and I wonder if there is soemthing that behaves like it irl
So what does that make Valstrax? He has so much dragon energy, he uses it to propel himself at incredibly high speeds, and he can shoot dragon energy rockets that explode on impact
My guess is that he represents the balance and changing of all elements and normally avoid all life forms due to its volatile nature and doesn't actually want to fight normally but only does so to remain in solitude so the environment is kept reasonably stable, but with hunters showing up he uses his nature to fight, as he doesn't otherwise hold back.
Love how Alatreon in the new world almost appears to be an older, more experienced one. One thing about his active modes that confuses me is that Alatreon IS capable of switching from Ice to Fire as shown in his cutscene. I guess he doesnt do it during the fight for ganeplay purposes. But seriously though with it essentially mastering the elements im surprised he hasn't overtaken Fatalis considering his destructive capabilities and just causing disasters just by being there.
Probably because Fatalis is supposed to be the toughest dragon and they'd reason that Fatalis probably outranls Alatreon in terms fo physical strength and resistance. Fatalis can probably also produce hotter and desdlier flames compared to Alatreon and we all know how a move done by a Specialist is a class higher than the same move performed by a All-Arounder.
And surprisingly, Safi'Jiiva was supposedly meant to be Fatalis's rival. As translated from the Dive to MHW Iceborne book, again, apparently. Also, Alatreon came to the valley destroy the cocoons, not because he ran away from Fatalis, like what many are saying.
Props for including the sources for the information in these since it was recommended after the Nergigante video. Straight, solid facts instead of any exaggerated fan-fic is much appreciated. Well done on the videos!
its sad that so freaking little its know about Alatreon, such a mysterious creature. Out of all elder dragons and black dragons i love his design the most, and his constant screaming while fighting it is very exciting. Im sad that it will be never properly explained why Alatreon went to the secluded valley, the implication of a picking a fight with Safiboy is very interesting.
5:36 it says that to weaken the Escaton Judgment the horns must be destroyed but that's not accurate. By doing enough elemental damage is the only way to weaken the attack. By beaking a horn is how we stop Ally's (that's how I named it) switching into the next elemental form.
My old enemy since Monster Hunter Tri, the monster that brought me back into Monster Hunter 7 years ago, the one elder dragon I could never beat when I have beaten so many others, was finally ripped from the realm of life by my own bare hands. At this point, I don't know how to feel. Well, on to Rise my friends.
Great video. An answer to the question at the end: no they would not be as respected if all info about them was known. I have been debating the community for a while on the power of these monsters, and despite showing evidence that Safi'jiiva could beat even Fatalis, many people cling to the myths even though they are misrepresented and have been debunked.
Fatalis is seen as the most dangerous because of its proximity to civilization and its past of destroying human lands. Dire chills in 1 place that is an ocean and has not actively sought out humans and alatreon is a neet who sits alone listening to linkin park. Fatty is definatly not the most powerful in destructive force by a longshot but he is the closest to minegrade and dundorma.
Great video as always !! Keep going I really enjoyed the MHLore series ;) I think that my next favorite MHLore would cover the Deviljho history, it's an emblematic Monster from the game
Have you seen Dhisufiroa? He is alatreon but white fatalis power (I’m not kidding when I say that, he has the 2nd most power of anything) but yea I guess you could consider fatalis, alatreon’s dad
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodCrusader I would love to see him again. I have 3 ultimate at home but didnt fight him on 3u but I would love to see a new crazy dire miralis fight. Like the type of crazy and epic fight that they gave fatalis in world+ some new lore and information on this beauty of a creature would come with that too. Anyways I cant wait for a dire miralis return. He might actually be my favourite black dragon.
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodCrusader sorry to disappoint you, but the developers themselves said they cannot do Dire Miralis justice without underwater combat and thus it's required for its return. Unless a future MH games has underwater combat, we won't be seeing it. However, that means if one of the next games does have underwater combat, Dire Miralis would basically be confirmed, because the devs really want to bring Dire Miralis back too. Also, Dire Miralis uses the Fatalis skeleton. It's body is also rigged exactly like Fatalis, which sometimes makes its supposedly solid tubes on its back stretch like Fatalis' wings.
I remember reading somewhere that the devs are bringing back underwater combat but they didn’t say when, my guesses are that mh6 will give water combat another shot and if it succeeds it becomes a staple like mounting
@@LilBih05 yeah, all they would have to do is make the hunters a bit mobile, ever since gu and world we’ve had better control of the camera so now they just gotta make hunters somewhat mobile and people will most likely like it
1st: in the video it states that breaking the horns weakens the judgement, that is stated in the game but the mechanic is totally different on the fight, so not sure it if was an oversight or not 2nd: alatreon is an really interesting monster, in the japanese games dragons usually have a inverted scale (roughtly translated as plates in mh), which is a single scale that grows contrary to the flow of scales and is the most durable and where dragons store their power, alatreon, however, does not have any regular scales and possesses only these inverted scales
It's not an oversight, they're referring to disrupting Alatreon's ability to shift between elements. That's why when you break the horn, Alatreon can't shift to the opposing element, it has to return to what it started with. For example, if it starts with Ice Active, if you break the horn, it goes back to Ice after the Judgement. If you don't, it switches to Fire Active.
@@ES-dp6tw they literally say weakens the nova in both games and this video the nova still kills you if you break the horns and don't get the dps check

Could you do Zorah Magdaros? He’s so unique to other monsters and has less explanation on why he is around. I think it would be interesting to dive into.
I wish he would have had Thunder & Water active states as well. I know it wouldn't really work as well for the elemental damage system, but it'd be awesome.
@@bongazoid No. Most likely is that Alatreon had an unfortunate run-in with Fatalis and barely escaped, which explains the nerfed Alatreon from Dawn's Triumph.

Said something very wrong at 5:33, breaking the horns doesn’t weaken the escaton and doing enough elemental damage mitigates by over loading alatreon, which is something you shouldn’t get wrong since it’s such a integral part of beating alatreon
My thoughts on Alatreon? The ones fought in the Old World are still young and inexperienced, hence why their power is uncontrollable. The one fought in the New World is older and far more experienced, having learned how to control it's power to an extent and even discovered a way to use liquid in it's abilities. My theory on how Alatreon uses all the elements goes back to the Bioenergy Theory. Elder Dragons have an insane amount of bioenergy, which is released into the earth upon their deaths as a form of nutrients. Alatreon not only has more bioenergy than most other Elder Dragons, but the sheer volume of it is greater than Alatreon itself can control. It's energy is constantly fluctuating in various ways and Alatreon must vent this energy at it's peak or it will cause serious harm to it's body. The horns contain an organ that helps it in this regard. But does Alatreon have such wildly fluctuating energy at all times? Or are there moments in it's life where it's energy is calm? As a living creature, it must find time to eat, sleep, and reproduce. Perhaps it's energy is also affected by it's emotions, such as anger or fear. We are led to believe that Alatreon came from the Old World, fleeing from Fatalis and chose the Secluded Valley as a new lair...or perhaps a hiding spot? When first encountered, Alatreon seemed to give the hunter a warning shot before burning every trace of Safi'jiiva's sheddings, completely ignoring the hunter until everything was aflame. What would cause such strange behavior? Was it trying to make the area more comfortable for itself? Did it think that the hunter was attracted to it's new lair by Safi'jiiva's residual energy from the sheddings and feared any other unwanted guests such as the Fatalis it was fleeing from? We may never know. However, what we DO know is that the Alatreon fought during the Fatalis quest line didn't escape from Fatalis in time (or perhaps it was bold enough to take on Fatalis in an attempt to defend it's territory?), leaving it exhausted, wounded, and a sitting duck for a skilled hunter to finish off.
Everything ive seen on alatreon says that while alatreon has immense control over the elements but its unstable/unrefined. Imagine a variant which is has masterful control of all elements
7:15 I don't know if is worth it. The armour is Super Duper Mega Ultra X Z Nega powerful and the weapons too, but if someone wears it, everything will be involved in destruction and death. And the person who wears it will be a souless being. At least in game that doesn't happen if I wear it, right?
If Alatreon were to come back in any future mh game, I'd rather it not have Escaton Judgement. You know, so it'll feel like I'm actually fighting a monster, instead of a DPS Check ripped straight from an MMO.
You mentioned that alatreon makes it impossible for anything to grow or survive around it. Could it be that alatreon represents balance? Maybe after Safi was destroyed, alatreon appeared in the secluded valley to ensure that another Xeno would never be born to destroy the new world.
I would love to see some explanation about kushala, because theres a kushala husk at the top of the hoarftost reach that doesnt look like just shed skin
Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Alatreon attacked. Only the Hunter, master of all fourteen weapons, could stop Alatreon, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and the Admiral and I discovered the new Monster Hunter, and although his hunting skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe the Hunter can save the world.
Wait doesn't safi also effect light with his ultimate attack by absorbing the light making the sapphire of the emperor the only source of light you can see
0:08 technically it did exist It was just destroyed It seems that there is a dark story in the guild or in the hunters major guild that is keep secret or some corruption maybe? Cause it is weird they decide to destroy records of any black dragon Unless the truth of Fatalis armor taking over the hunter is true Then maybe the armor took over a hunter and made the hunter destroy the info of the black dragons
I think Safi/Xeno Jiiva should be the next one. I'm quite curious how Jiiva is connected to the black dragons.. although its clear we're not gonna get the answer until after Rise, Safi is still one of the most fascinating monster they've created out there..
Not at all Most likley . I cant See Something Like alatreon (who hates everything that breaths so much that it Sometimes swims to the deepest Part of the ocean to be Alone for a Moment)having a symbiotic relationship with anything . Especially Not a jiiva. Xeno is known for luring every Sort of creature , especially elders towards him . And safi can manipulate the are around him . So it either could be safis manipulation that makes the guiding Lands a place filled with live or it could be because the guiding Lands are a dead zorah (which after His death becomes an Island with every biome He visited in His live )but still both do the exact opposit of what alatreon Likes (complete loneliness) Also Safi If i remember right only feeds of the everstream so luring one of the Most deadly Monsters towards him wouldn't be a good move . The Most likley reason for everything that Happend in iceborne is fatalis awakening. Most likley shara got active because of fatalis and alatreon tried to find a save place to hide from fatalis .or He found the secluded Valley and Likes it because there wasnt anything in it and Not a single sign of Life

2) Alatreon *can* switch between fire and ice instantly, it does so in the cutscene where it transitions from ice to fire mid-step.
As I watched the video, I knew some things weren't accurate (specifically the "broken horn = weaker ult blast") but hey, we all make mistakes.
@@Sentient_Bread_Slice
To clarify on these:
1) Alatreon's '4 forms' are a bit weird, its base 'form' I wouldn't personally count as a unique form - and it seems it always defaults to 'Dragon' whenever it can, or at least builds up to it.
I want a lore for Dire Miralis, sir.

I love that Alatreon's theme has bits of 'To One With Life' thrown in. It kind of conveys that there could be hope within the dark chaos of Alatreon.

@@DrunkedOwly nope I did it
Exaggerated swagger of a Blazing Black teen
I have a theory. I think we may have to reconsider the definition of elements by the mere existence of Alatreon.
3:40 - water moves of Alatreon are some sort of oil, which we later found are flammable to his fire attacks. Oil are just liquids, or fluids, to be exact, which is featured also in Mitzusune in the form of soapy puddles, a suspension of oil. So it seems, the word 'water' covers quite a broad class of substances here.
He also spits fire, which is just an indication of a chemical reaction. A
stream of compressed flammable gas can be lit on fire to make a flamethrower.
I find it interesting that dragon element has a plasma like property when compressed or interacting with other elements check the examples=
valstrax: it uses dragon element crompressed with air to make plasma jets of energy and even projectiles, this means that dragon element likes react with elements and this interaction creates a massive discharge of energy
deviljho= while we know that jhojo boi uses it to power its body the most interesting thing is its turf wars, notice that when he does a beam clash with other elder dragons the dragon elements behaves like it does with valstrax, it absorbs the elements and then it discharges a massive explossion that knocksout both deviljho and the elder dragon.
the is also the interesting factor that picklessaurus dragon element is more gas based rather than energy based wich means that it can reash plams like properties but it lacks the proper reactions to become plams like heat pressure, this is confirmed dues to savage debiljho dragon breath attacks that are more compressed and have small but really bright bolts of plasma dragon energy
stygian zinogre: it it intersting that zinogre, an originaly eletric monster, can work with dragon energy just as well, it seems that batery like components are able to store dragon element, zino and stygian zino have this quirk that they need to get their elemental properties from bugs that generate that element, and since stygian can only use plasma dragon enegy it means that something is reacting iside its body to store the elments just like a batery storing electricity
then we have alatreon wich can use all elements, the thing I love about esctatons judgement is that it really explains how alatreon can change temperatures without damaging it self, dragon active mode acts as a supressor to make fire active and ice active change less radical, dragon active cools alatreon while in fire active bu it heats him on ice active, witch explains why we can make escaton judgement less dangerous by either using the opposite elements or using dragon element on alatreon.
the phisical properties of dragon elements have an interesting consistency and I wonder if there is soemthing that behaves like it irl
I love alatreon so much. This video really did his power justice. Thank you TDS for this video!
Capcom gave the black salamander a shit ton of plot armour to keep him kinda on top
Thanks for the content. Alatreon is 1 of the monster that ask us hunter to rethink our strategy in Iceborne.
As someone relatively new to the MH series I'm loving these videos
I absolutely love the lore videos, the effort you guys put in all your vids is amazing
1:47 Okay....White Fatalis, but Alatreon. Old Man Alatreon is a thing I want to see in a future game. Imagine his power!
Oh god yes
It exist.. it's called dhisufiroa
its sad that so freaking little its know about Alatreon, such a mysterious creature.
By beaking a horn is how we stop Ally's (that's how I named it) switching into the next elemental form.
correct
Also, breaking the horns doesn't stop its ability to change actives, it merely stops the attempt. No horns to break = infinite active changes
The elementally unstable elder dragon
One of my favourites, even though the fight in MH Tri drove me crazy.
But its gear is just soo nice
now hes elementally stable now somehiw
My old enemy since Monster Hunter Tri, the monster that brought me back into Monster Hunter 7 years ago, the one elder dragon I could never beat when I have beaten so many others, was finally ripped from the realm of life by my own bare hands. At this point, I don't know how to feel. Well, on to Rise my friends.
In 3U, I defeated Alazreon in the final quest of Moga. Difficult, but manageble.
Alatreon just wants to be left alone and that's a big mood.
Great video as always !! Keep going I really enjoyed the MHLore series ;)

1st: in the video it states that breaking the horns weakens the judgement, that is stated in the game but the mechanic is totally different on the fight, so not sure it if was an oversight or not
2nd: alatreon is an really interesting monster, in the japanese games dragons usually have a inverted scale (roughtly translated as plates in mh), which is a single scale that grows contrary to the flow of scales and is the most durable and where dragons store their power, alatreon, however, does not have any regular scales and possesses only these inverted scales
@@ES-dp6tw they literally say weakens the nova in both games and this video
the nova still kills you if you break the horns and don't get the dps check
The oily substance you are referring to could be the dragon's saliva. That's why it's flammable.

Safi jiva lures almost dead monsters to the secluded valley (that’s where you fight alatreon) to absorb them for energy
So could alatreon be weakened in this game?
@@bongazoid No. Most likely is that Alatreon had an unfortunate run-in with Fatalis and barely escaped, which explains the nerfed Alatreon from Dawn's Triumph.
Xeno'jiiva was the one who was luring monsters close to its pupae, that's why World's story fixated on elders not behaving as they should and congregating by the Elder's Recess. Safi'jiiva is an adult and no longer dependent on luring monsters to it since it can now reshape its environment to suit itself, as detailed in its special assignment.

Capcom brought hi back sooooo good!
Said something very wrong at 5:33, breaking the horns doesn’t weaken the escaton and doing enough elemental damage mitigates by over loading alatreon, which is something you shouldn’t get wrong since it’s such a integral part of beating alatreon
It’ll be good to see this kind of lore video about Valstrax.
"The equipment is considered one of the strongest." Are you sure about that?
I think they are talking lore wise

I don’t expect him to comeback in the next gen but the future games with THIS idea, makes me wanna fight him again in the future even more.
Everything ive seen on alatreon says that while alatreon has immense control over the elements but its unstable/unrefined. Imagine a variant which is has masterful control of all elements

Maybe after Safi was destroyed, alatreon appeared in the secluded valley to ensure that another Xeno would never be born to destroy the new world.
cant wait for the Alatreon that can harness all the elements to there fullest.
Now you gotta do dire Miralis to complete the trio (unless you wanna do the frontier ones)

Water. Earth. Fire. Air.
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Alatreon attacked. In 50 years after ww7 Capcom reveals the blacks dragons are actually equal dragon weapons that used white fatalis as a blueprint
So it either could be safis manipulation that makes the guiding Lands a place filled with live or it could be because the guiding Lands are a dead zorah (which after His death becomes an Island with every biome He visited in His live )but still both do the exact opposit of what alatreon Likes (complete loneliness)
Also Safi If i remember right only feeds of the everstream so luring one of the Most deadly Monsters towards him wouldn't be a good move .
The Most likley reason for everything that Happend in iceborne is fatalis awakening. Most likley shara got active because of fatalis and alatreon tried to find a save place to hide from fatalis .or He found the secluded Valley and Likes it because there wasnt anything in it and Not a single sign of Life
