I’d be shouting that gooseneck fitting some marine grease, to slow up the electrolysis between the stainless and alloy. And.......any thread that’s submerged should be greased the same! I’ve been playing in this field for a few years, including moorings, and yes I greased all shackles and then mowsed with wire. Thanks for sharing! 😃
The two of you are not just beautiful, but extremely amazing. The promiscuous and playful childlike characters creating their own world..on open waters. one can only appreciate the courage and love that is put into these videos that somehow bring out the emotions of happiness, and striving. in jamaica we say.. NO PROBLEM MON, DAT SOON IN DE PAST.
We just watched a couple of your older videos, episodes 9 and 10, your honeymoon videos! Almost 40 years ago, we were sailing a chartered Columbia 27 in the Whitsundays, and visited Butterfly Bay. Got some great oysters off the rocks, and had a barbie on the beach. We had just been married a couple of years, now it's over 41 years. I loved introducing Lois as "my Wife", sounded strange, but so nice. May your honeymoon continue. Looking forward to your next videos.
Every man needs a shed! (or at least, access to one...) In an earlier video, you were having trouble with march flies. Years ago, my wife and I were camping near Rainbow Beach, and the march flies were bad. Then we noticed they were attracted to the colour blue. Don't wear a blue shirt! Hope this helps.
I wish I could have those problems!!! there is no better thing than seeing those sails in shape, water splashing, and boat rocking...lucky you to have problems!
You are so lucky that you’re hunny is a handy dandy honey & You’re one heck a first mate . Lol I think that’s what they call it. I’m Enjoying watching you both . Seeing people my age living there life in freedom . Happy sailing to you

Thankyou so much for the boy meets girl lovestory. I see a movie in the making, full Hollywood blockbuster. But who will play Daz, who could possibly be the lovely sweet calm Meg? And Daz you'll be smiling every time you see that gooseneck and patting yourself on the back. What yachting art! And such a beautiful part of the world. First went there in Uni, planned to live in the area, but spent my life in cold windy Canberra. Will follow your inspiring lead in a few years. Thanks for the inspiration lovebirds.
If you bend that one I would consider reefing sooner. Lol. Always love watching you two. Just two Love Birds living life on their terms! So envious.. Keep Living and Inspiring!
Very nice video watching your videos is very relaxing for some reason your humor is fantastic kind of feels like home thanks for sharing eagerly waiting for the next Cheers
Hi guys. As luck would have it I have the exact same boom and goose neck. I have rebuilt it twice. The last time I redesigned it and drew up the plans then got it turned out of a solid piece of 316 at my friend's work shop. It's a thing of beauty. And didn't cost much. Bottle of Jim from memory. How can I send you a picture and the dimensioned drawing? You could Just save it for the next time. At the very least the plan can be emailed to any machine shop if you need another. Or I could get my mate to quote you a new one. Can even try for mates rates.
It seems to me like the whole entire world is paying the price for Chinese junk materials. Never before in my life have I bought a product and had the brand new screws stripped out as I put them in. It’s insanity.
Thanks, Mikey, for taking care of our favorite Aussie sailors. Well done, Mate!

Best heads on a yacht is a lavac by far. Just a bulk standard hand pump and it never breaks down and has a really strong flush.
