  • The value-based healthcare model shifts a share of financial risk onto medical providers by prioritizing incentives for the quality of patient care. But what does this mean for you and your practice? In this video, we’ll help you get a better understanding of the financial risk providers face with value-based care, so you can make sure you’re achieving your quality benchmarks to improve your reimbursements. We’ll explore how value-based care is being implemented in Medicare Part B through MACRA and the Quality Payment Program (QPP). We'll see how the QPP prioritizes incentives for the quality of patient care with metrics used to measure performance scores through two payment tracks; the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and the Advanced Alternative Payment Models (AAPMs). And lastly, we'll discuss what you can do to maintain and improve your performance scores and limit exposure to financial risk in this model.
