Finally, someone to explain the whole principle of work of timeboxing, until now what I heard did not give me the most important information. Thank you Vihan Chelliah! This mean a lot for me!

GRT video mate. I mostly use most of those techniques in diffrent ways. Good to see them collectively and in order. And this video proves all them are actualy grt
3:50: Oh no, that's what I'm doing by watching this video right now! To be fair I actually _did_ pre-plan to watch it this morning but missed it due to unexpected circumstances... but is a bit ironic to hear about that while it's happening!
Great video and excellent production quality! Love small diamonds like these. Thanks for the reminder on planning your day - no time allocated to a certain task likely results in underutilized or even lost time.
Great video mate. First time watching, found you on Reddit. Have been trying to improve my work efficiency for a long time, but never thought about this technique. Will try it out today
I can’t wait to use these time management tips in my life, thanks for sharing! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! 💫 #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser
When/If you finish a task quicker than the allocated time, do you take a rest? If rest isn't in the next block? Or do you move up the next task to fill the spare time?
This is an interesting perspective. The biggest issue for me in running my company are the “fires” that occasionally come up in managing my staff and helping customers. How do you balance timeboxing against having to be agile at times in order to get things done?
new fire = new timebox starting as soon as you can (end current non "on fire" timebox prematurely as having that fire in back of your mind will hinder your effords anyway). Also these "on fire" boxes should be ended as soon as possible even if this mean not completely resolving customer issue - if building is burning you need to act quickly and pour water on it.. while when fire is no longer raging you can postpone finding fire reason or assessing if building can still be used. Fire ended, it generated new tasks... now it is time to update your daily schedule and move on.
Thanks, Laura! So being an entrepreneur definitely require a lot of agility and speed. I like to timebox as a general rule to accomplish all of my to-dos. However, quick fires often do need to take precedence (All of this depends on how urgently that fire needs tending to). I mentioned having space between your timeboxes every hour or so, so those gaps are generally when I address those fires.
@@VihanChelliah I find that if I don't set myself a strict end-of-day I can work some pretty insane hours, so a larger fire can create a cascading issue for me to try to get everything done. Do you find yourself shuffling timeboxes at the point a fire comes up, or shrinking them up to compensate? Trying to maintain my work-life balance :)
Thanks so much for posting. I had the chance to see a rocket launch in 2018. Amazing experience. I posted a pretty awesome clip of the trip to my channel.
I'm a midwifery student on 24 hour call 6 days a week. I need time management like nobody's business. I need something but my days are dictated by the tiny humans I help into the world. Any tips for using this with that sort of life? I can see how these increments are especially awesome for keeping my clinic day on point. I'm worried about getting called out and everything going to shit.... all that work for a tiny flesh bag to not respect my time blocking.. Whats a person to do? throw in the circadian rhythm disruption and I'm always in a daze.
Where's the original interview showing Elon Musk is truly using Time Boxing? I don't see that video. I only see Elon Musk said he works for SpaceX on one day and Tesla on another day and so on, but I don't see he has said anything like "Time Boxing"
but what is when you hardboxed a task and did not finish it. it has to be finished and you just drop it move to the next?? but the task / result is not usable then. whats with that??
I gotta quick question about studying. Generally when am studying and I come over a question that I can’t seem to answer or figure out, I tend to get stuck on it and in doing that get frustrated. Is there any way to avoid doing that?
Absolutely. Have you tried using Feynman's Technique when studying? It essentially uses the principle of self-explanation to identify areas that you don't understand. I made a video on that a few weeks ago. It might help. I would also mark areas/questions that you do not understand and create a separate timebox to focus and address specific questions that you do not understand. Knowing that you have a separate timebox for those tricky areas can help you keep moving and then come back to it later. Hope that helps :)
Basic scheduling and project management might help for day-to-day tasks, but during the actual day timeboxing can drastically increase your productivity especially for those of us who tend to be heavy procrastinators or context switchers.
Thank you for watching! I enjoyed making this one :)

Interesting video Vihan!

Anyone else notice the mention of the "Pomodoro Technique" quickly followed by an image of a tomato timer?

My suggestion is try to teach timeboxing to your employees
Is time boxing and blocking are the same thing?
Awesome content...useful and now with my exams coming up, it helps plan out my time better
Good luck with your exams! Hope this does the trick!

Unfortunately you did not fit your entire video into my timebox, so, ....gee I hope it had a good ending
🤣 hahaha. You’re one busy guy!
Or you could live life and not act like a government robot? You ever heard the parable of the Mexican fisherman?
Definitely! I actually have a video of that parable in the channel
