I find building gundam model kits really give you a lot of experience when it comes to stuff like this. Panel lining and giving it a matt finish is basically second nature at this point
I’m thinking of doing a matte finish on best selection naruto after a black wash is applied. Would this prevent the wash from being removed after time?
i have vinyl face doll keychain that always gets colored by my bag/clothes/other random stuff. does this clear coat help with color transferring/easier to clean???
Question, I'm about to test the Mr. Super Clear, with a Master Chief action figure, would I cover up his visor? Which is metallic brozey/gold paint, or spray it as well?
I know im super duper very late about commenting but i have a question can i apply second coat spray if im not satisfied? Its ok if you dont reply i completely understand😁😁👍🏻
In terms of mr.hobby, do you prefer super clear or the topcoat that you used in your spiderman video? I just want the best spray that isn't sticky when I mess with my figures
Anyone know what is the best matte top coat for the shfiguarts dragon ball line? I used tamiya matt top coat on a few of my figures, once applied and dried it looks really good for about 6 days, but then the coat seems to start wearing off and looking all weird and sticky, I have no idea what makes the coat react like that, specially after it's aready applied and sealed. I'm looking to have a durable matt finish but idk what's the right product to use on these things. Hope someone will take the time to read this and help a fellow collector out
This is really cool, but I’m having issues with super tight ball joints on the legs/hips of my Deku, cooler, all might and even bakugo a bit. I would love to know a good way to loosen them; if you have any ideas I’d be super grateful
I have my own dstartoys.com/collections/repairs-and-services/products/dr-dstars-100-silicone-oil-tight-joint-loosener?variant=34534112133278 I am sold out but tbh any 100% silicone oil that you find on Amazon should suffice. Try to avoid the sprays though they have petroleum in them that can degrade plastic
Dstar01 awesome! Thank you so much! Shame that you’re sold out lol I appreciate all of your advice so now I know what to look for. Last thing I want is to break off a leg from the recent additions especially all might Deku and cooler. They’re amazing pieces
Dstar01 btw does this elixir work if a leg socket is loose for the ball joint? For example if I try to move my SS goku version 2’s right leg it just pops off the socket. (Thanks for all your help and helpful videos)
@Dstar01 hey bro, just wondering, i've had the original figuarts broly out on a shelf for a couple years, its quite dusty, about to move it into a detolf but wanna clean it, any tips on best and safest method to clean all the dust off?
50 % Rubbing Alcohol Warm Tap water 1:1 mix ratio Q-Tips Take one q-tip Dab one q-tip into alcohol/water mix(no need to soak it) Lightly rub shine out(a-HA! I see how that reads) Wash with soapy water Bam you just saved yourself some cash! End of line...
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL......................Get real dude. Unless your models are sitting outside in direct sunlight all day UV isn't going to affect or dull them.

I feel like the Deku Bootleg already looked fine imo but the Super Clear does work well with that Dragon Stars Cooler
AND when you spray next to the air filter you can get a nice *aesthetically pleasing* air filter
This spray stuff is toxic, use a respirator!
Figuarts Majin Vegeta would really need it
This is very helpful, thank you, does this work on figure rise kits? I've heard it doesn't work well on figure rise kits
Yeah it does
It does
@Caleb Unstoppable soak and water, you don't want to seal the kit with dust in it, even a slight dust can hurt your eyes.
thanks for the awesome tip man. i think im going to try this. how easily would you say this clear coat scratches or rubs off?
Love your videos man keep it up
you should make another video showing it off and show the anime heroes sasuke and kakashi because those look super shiny
For cooler you should have covered up his glossy blue plates. But the rest of the figure looks great in matte finish.
I dont think I'll ever use this stuff but glad you made a video about it just in case.
thanks for letting us know. really valuable commentary.
I’m thinking of doing a matte finish on best selection naruto after a black wash is applied. Would this prevent the wash from being removed after time?
Yes
When I used this stuff, the upper thigh area always seems to scrape off that Matt layer. Any advice?
Thanks for the recommendations, mrhobby super clear really works well
Can i ask you sth
How to clean some thick coat on the figure? My figure's leg look a little bit too shiny now
Will the mr hobby uv cut have a slight color change to the kit or nah?
i have vinyl face doll keychain that always gets colored by my bag/clothes/other random stuff. does this clear coat help with color transferring/easier to clean???
Back in the day everyone used testors model masters dullcote for this.
I just want two allmight figures so I can customize one to look like all black
I’m looking forward to restore some of the Mat finish on my anime price figures , they’re abs and pvc made , does it work on them?
Pretty sure they do as they are made of the same types of plastics
What happen when the original matte rubs off? Can it be fixed using Super Clear spray?
Yes
Question, I'm about to test the Mr. Super Clear, with a Master Chief action figure, would I cover up his visor? Which is metallic brozey/gold paint, or spray it as well?
Yeah cover his visor.
Question to ask, does it work on PVC as well?
Where are you getting rustoleum for two dollars a can?
I know it’s trash but it’s 4 dollars at Walmart around here.

I need to this to my Neca turtles.
Are these all mattes? And would this be good to top coat an sh figuart with water slide decals ?
Yes they would
In terms of mr.hobby, do you prefer super clear or the topcoat that you used in your spiderman video? I just want the best spray that isn't sticky when I mess with my figures
Either or honestly. I see very little difference except for mr super clear being a little sandy feeling which I actually like

Mr hobby matte lasts the longest

Silicone oil
Dstar01 interesting, I’ve never really tried it. Any recommendations on a brand? Thank you for the advice btw

Is tamiya flat clear spray a good alternative to have a matte finish on these type of figs? thanks in advance
There are no long term issues with this?
will the stickyness for rustoleom come off?
could this spray fix very old plastic figures that are becoming sticky ?
Maybe
What kind of topcoat work better with mr color metallic
@Dstar01 hey bro, just wondering, i've had the original figuarts broly out on a shelf for a couple years, its quite dusty, about to move it into a detolf but wanna clean it, any tips on best and safest method to clean all the dust off?
Compressed air to blow the air off would work
Agreed. Compressed air is your best bet
@@dstar01 alright, cheers guys, any advice on baby wipes btw? see places sayingto use and others saying to not as it can rub paint off
Is it the same with the top. Oat spray that u used on spidey far from home ?
I mean, can that one also works as a matte finisher ?
When you use rustoleom does the figure stay sticky even after it cures
Yeah
Where can I find Mr. super clear?
Dstartoys.com
Doing this makes joints stiff?
What if you matte finish yourself?
Do a how to fix a yamaguchi spiderman
A bit of spray goes a long way
I like the video.... but commenting that its sticky 3 seconds after spraying is kinda funny. of course its sticky!
this was posted on my birthday... cool
Can u review the armored broly bootleg
How do you fix if it looks dusty after spraying?
Give it a rinse with water and let it dry
@@dstar01 thanks, this fixed the problem
Your video is amazing
Why the figma deku KO is missing a hand
