I'm sorry, I've abandoned Xbox and MS a while ago when I saw they were going full cloud/subscription pathway. (I'll do the same to the other gaming companies that do that too) My Series X, a fantastic machine, but has now been collecting dust as there is no point in me putting the money and investment towards it, when Xbox is pulling the rug from underneath me. My business goes to PS, Switch and PC. The Xbox I once knew and loved is gone, all because they lost sight of gaming and gamers and went down the business path ie, Netflix style subscriptions and online only. I warned about this years ago when everyone is cheering Gamepass, this is where Gamepass ultimately leads..... continuously handing money to MS to "access" my games and gaming dependant on servers, bandwidth etc etc. This path also removes consumer power and places all that power with the gaming companies. Give us back our Gaming and our control. Hopefully the other companies see the steaming pile Xbox/MS is growing into and steer away and back to "good gaming" ????

I recognized it during one of those $1 Gamepass PC trials over the summer. I saw how for some reason there were all these add-on packs for Flight Simulator and the game would rapidly become an over-$100 game even with discounts. It also pissed me off that I downloaded the game, then launched it then had to wait some more for the rest of it to download. I became totally uninterested at that point.

asobo said they expected 200k concurrent users, yesterday they had millions of users installing the game from steam and gamepass completely crashed it's servers
A few notes: * A lot of this existed before in the previous version of the game. Mircosoft made the stupid decision to make the launcher / updater a separate thing, and Steam doesn't detect it, so it counts against play time. This means getting a refund requires appealing to their support staff. Microsoft should have changed that a long time ago. * The previous version of the game did have a base map that came with it so you could play it offline. Playing offline made the terrain look like it was from a '90s flight simulator, but it was possible. * "The whole game" is petabytes / exabytes big, and some systems (such as weather) are updated in real time. So there is some justification for the online connection. Although as I stated earlier, there was a fallback to a base map in the previous version of the game. If you lost your connection, it would do its best to fill in the terrain based on the base map it had, along with anything it had cached. Sure you would have to endure a bit of '90s flight sim terrain for a bit until the connection came back, but it still worked. * I totally agree we shouldn't be excusing trash. Completely, totally agree we need to put large studios on a short leash. I'm personally a bit tired of the way AAA games are being treated.
Man raises fist in the air, yells at the wind for being windy “rarrrrrr!” Download the entire planet lol ok, go back to the switch shovelware or the underwear olympics.
it is interesting how with a low barrier of entry experience, such as film and tv, etc, we can be critical, boycott or whatever. But for gaming you pay $500-$1400 for a system/pc, $70 for the game, $20/mo for a subscription and spend 40+ hours trying to play the game and just accept that it launches broken/incomplete, you pay extra to play it on release day (early access,) pay extra for content cut out of the game and all that is just standard. The state of the gaming industry is so broken that a DLC is even being considered for GOTY. Studios are being bought up and shut down. Items you used to unlock as part of the game are now monetized. You have games like overwatch 2 that totally overtakes your purchase of the first game. Is a dumpster fire on launch and they don't give you any of the promised content. And now they're celebrating a classic overwatch mode. Or halo infinite we were sold on features like local co op that were supposed to come to the game which now never will, yet they took our money. This has gotten so out of hand that I actually believe there has to be a precedent set with legal ramifications or actual laws regarding consumer protections in order for anything to get better.
I didn't buy flight simulator 24 on day one and I won't purchase it until everything is up running correctly on series x. Who ever pre-orders digital games is beyond stupid. The same for first day purchase. You know more than likely your game is going to broke or woke 😂
And this is coming from a trillion dollar company that just keeps buying out companies for their IPs, a company that can more than afford to delay a game if it needed more time to make sure everything works.
The graphics - especially when you get down near the ground are utter crap....kinda defeats the purpose of "get out of your plane and walk around" schtick
I am a Flight Simulator veteran. In Flight Simulator 2020, it relied on the cloud but you still had to download most of the core assets so you could play it in offline mode. The only thing the cloud was used for is satellite imagery and weather data. 2024 was only supposed to improve performance. Very disappointing.
cant even get past the 97%, and then cant get past logging into the queue AND THEN Cant even load into the game like WTF microsoft???? Im going back to MSFS 2020 until they fix this SH1T
The thing is you shouldn't had to do any of that. The point of a game is you buy the game, you insert the game into your console, turn on the power and just play. There shouldn't be any terms of service bs, no login logout, no waiting until the server load or open, etc. No it should just work. When first I bought After Burner Complete for my Sega 32X back in 1994, I plug the cartridge into my system, turn on the power and my game just works, and then I was hitting the sky shooting and spinning without issue. There's no reason why a game in 2024 should had this issue when a game from 1994 doesn't.
THANK YOU. Somebody with the balls to say it. Every time it's "O but these are people". Yeah and those same people criticize others when they dont like something.

There needs to be legal ramifications for this... Not "oh we're sorry" but industry wide at a federal level. It's a defective product. Any other industry this would mean a class action lawsuit.
"Download The Whole Game" I'd love to do that, here's the problem. FS 2020 had over 2 PETABYTES of data, not gigabytes, not terabytes, PETABYTES. I shudder to think how much data FS 2024 has. So "Download the Whole Game" you say? Sure, Love too, you got the internet connection and hardware to download and store it all? OR better yet how about the kind of money it would take to buy it? Not making excuses for them, just stating facts here. Here is a quote from PC World Magazine "Microsoft will store and process the 2.5 petabytes (that’s about 2,500 terabytes) of pure aerial image data in its own cloud to enable fast loading times on as many systems as possible."
I remember when people were upset when Tears of the Kingdom was delayed. I felt I was one of the few that was not upset about it. I would rather have a delayed game than a broken game. Now games delayed years and years is another story but I am willing to wait another 6 months to a year for a game to be good at launch.
Most videos I write poor devs, in that everyone thinks they know it all when it comes to making games... But yet these same people saying that have never programmed in their life. I always say devs are smarter than we think, and can easily put out a finished fully working game. But devs now choose not to. I blame it on the release of Cyberpunk and how that ended up turning out. A pathetic star, and ended up being a good game. With the gamers applauding CD project red... now it's mainstream policy to not give a complete game product out and the customers lap it up, and are sympatric like poor devs... When really it conniving deceitful devs
Back in the old days; games were made by gamers. Now you have game devs that barely don't play any games (if not at all), and think they are professional at it. They know better than us appearently.
The day gaming goes fully digital, cloud-only and always online is the day I quit and stick to my backlog of games on older consoles that don't require an Internet connection and were finished at launch.
At that point, I'm better off supporting indie game devs and playing older games than supporting the game companies that are making games suited for the modern audiences.
For the most part, my game has been working just fine. Day one launch, I had one instance of being put in a queue to login and then being booted with a server error after waiting an hour in the queue. Since then, I have not had one interruption to logging on, or loading data while playing. I have experienced a few default aircraft like the analog 172 that has avionics that do not work. Some missing airports, or tower airports that appear to have no ATC services. I find this to be completely unacceptable, at a minimum the default aircraft and airports and ATC should be in full working order on release. I personally am not experiencing any issues with streaming data and am easily getting 60 frames per second. Granted my machine is a beast and I have 1GB Internet speeds, so maybe I am fortunate in that regard. I could see the game challenging lesser systems with slower Internet. One thing I can say though, is despite all the complaining, flightsim 2024 performs 100 times better on release day than flight Sim 2020 did on release day.
The BigMac isn't $17 just because McDonalds is Greedy. It is because the DriveThru is WRAPPED every single day, DESPITE the fact that the BigMac is $17. Same logic applies to Games.
"Absolute TRASH" - I couldn't have said it better. I'm staying away from FS2024. I love flight sim. I have since the early 90's. But the fact we can't (at least) download the core files to play offline is just bulls**t. FS2020 takes up over 500GB in size, without my addons... I don't care! It's worth it! I'll set aside a 2TB hard drive for Flight Sim if I have to, but this online s**t has to stop.
I agree with you 100%. It is strange how many people have the opinion that we (the customer) should accept that these launches will have problems, and we must be stupid for pre-ordering and we should not buy for several weeks 'just to let things settle down'. What utter bull***t. I am sure if they purchased a motor car and the dealer said "It's a great car, but the engine won't start up for 4 weeks till things settle down", would that customer be happy??? This was just like that motor car. We paid a lot of money for a product that is unplayable, and they should change the game to a full installation instead of this cloud crap. Three days in and I still cannot play this broken mess.
Your honesty is very refreshing. Been really looking forward to this game as it is supposed to be more Arcade style, but the always online even in single player was a deal breaker. Don't get too discouraged because voices like yours are very important and relevant in this day and age.
8:44 "your mama comes out and she s..." 😂 That's why I try to wait until a game goes on sale before buying it, unless it's something I'm really dying to play ASAP.
I would agree, by and large new games are trash. Sure they look nice and have some things that are amazing, but nothing beats just putting a game in and playing it without things like updates or half baked code....
When game companies used to hire developers based on merit we didn’t have these problems. Now that companies like Microsoft based on DEI, everything has been either going woke or releasing half finished games.

@@SolidSnake240 I don't think it was but the hype about it was real. There were a lot of good reviewed games but that's not the same as back in 1998 when there were games that created entire genres. There were no pioneers in 2023, just a bunch of games that were fun within established categories.
@@Supermanohman2007 was one of the best years for video games I can remember
I’m so glad I didn’t buy this one.
I think FS 2024 is a big waste of money. you are just buying a shell, when they retire the game the servers will go offline and so will the game. People will be forced to upgrade to new version
It's not a game.
ive gone back to playing my old consoles...just fed up of the modern bullshit!!!! PS2, MegaDrive and Gamecube getting some love from me currently
Hundreds of thousands of people downloading it to their Xbox series x and s and PCs because it’s on Game Pass and then they have to cache all those areas they’re gonna fly in. It’s a total overload that’s why you’re waiting forever.
The full map it’s over 2 petabytes and that was 2020 that’s 2000gb who has that space this one’s probably more.
Yes they completely forgot about game pass I feel. They were thinking of the game buyers only.
Imagine buying a t-shirt but you only get half of it at the time of purchase with the promise that the rest is going to be delivered to you eventually. Modern triple A gaming in a nutshell really
That's called a crop top.
Well said!
You know what you should do, request a refund and do not play the game.
It’s like we have to go back to the 2000’s to play games that were finished upon release smh.
If you think that then ur stupid😅
Thank you so much for finally telling it like it is no sympathy do your damn job nobody else in the world gets the fucking time these people get to fix something that's broken
Seems like microsoft can't do anything right.
Throw Sony in the exact same bucket.
@garrypeak4277 at least their games don't come out broken or unfinished, even Concord was still polished game.
@@garrypeak4277 and Nintendo
Microsoft hasn’t been doing anything right for years and this is just another long list of their failures, Microsoft has become specialists in failure 🤣🤣🤣
@ Must be why they can’t count the money they are currently making. With the help of PlayStation of course….
Imagine u go to the dealer, buy a Lamborghini, and when u wanna take it home it won't start cause the dealer needs to update the software before you take it but they dont know when they'll get the update, how would u feel then??
Lots of new cars have issues and are recalled and yes also Lambo's.
This actually happens
Bro Vinfast does that already 💀
Imagine going to a restaurant and they serve you raw chicken, and you eat it anyway, thats how bad it’s getting
I would be happy that I could afford to buy a Lambo. Hopefully from the AARP meme coin I launched, while rug pulling all the Grandmas and Grandpas of the world.
The game crashes harder than Kamala Harris' campaign did.
True!
It’s the era of companies telling you what you will have, not giving you what you want.
So true!
asobo said they expected 200k concurrent users, yesterday they had millions of users installing the game from steam and gamepass completely crashed it's servers
It would be even simpler to just delay the game if you know it's not ready. And they refuse to do it every time.
A few notes:
* A lot of this existed before in the previous version of the game.
This should be pinned. You understand what’s going on far more than RGT (though I still appreciate his sentiment).
Man raises fist in the air, yells at the wind for being windy “rarrrrrr!”
Download the entire planet lol ok, go back to the switch shovelware or the underwear olympics.
As a switch owner i just spend my money on indie games they're brilliant and always have discounts on
Any recommendations?
Or Nintendo games coz as Switch owner myself only most Nintendo and indie games are worth buying right now.
Smart guy
it is interesting how with a low barrier of entry experience, such as film and tv, etc, we can be critical, boycott or whatever.
I think you nailed it at the start bud. That extra initial overhead compared to tv/film/music means extra copium required when things go south.
Support your local indie dev!
I didn't buy flight simulator 24 on day one and I won't purchase it until everything is up running correctly on series x. Who ever pre-orders digital games is beyond stupid. The same for first day purchase. You know more than likely your game is going to broke or woke 😂
True!
It runs perfect on my Xbox series x. Had a friend over who has a PS5 and guy was impressed beyond words
And this is coming from a trillion dollar company that just keeps buying out companies for their IPs, a company that can more than afford to delay a game if it needed more time to make sure everything works.
I thought you were going to tell me they gave the airplanes pronouns.
SAVAGE RGT
Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, I'm lovin' it.
1:07 What kind of Nintendo TH-camr plays Flight Simulator anyway? 😂
The graphics - especially when you get down near the ground are utter crap....kinda defeats the purpose of "get out of your plane and walk around" schtick
Modern gaming as a whole is stupid, 90% of the games I play now is retro and I couldn't be happier.
Yeah I just saw this on my Steam's featured games, and my god, they are charging $70-(I think) $200 bucks for this trash pile.
I thought you were going to say "enough is enough and it's time for a change!"
Owen Hart! His Nation of Domination theme from 98 is so sick.
When i was loading into MSFS 2024, I was at 98% and then my xbox CRASHED 😢😢
They are not selling you a game, but service. Sounds to me like a lawsuit.
THANK YOU. Somebody with the balls to say it. Every time it's "O but these are people". Yeah and those same people criticize others when they dont like something.
It's gotten to a point, where even teenagers and young adults these days are appreciating the games we had as kids. The AAA market is full of deceit, greed, and dishonesty now and I'm done with it.
I've seen so many PC components released in last years...and skipped them all...I don't need them, there are no decent games released anymore.
It's Still Downright Criminal They Releasing Video Game That Requires Internet Just to Play the Freaking Game Instead of Without It. WHAT'S GOING WITH THIS VIDEO GAME GENERATION TODAY!?!😡
I've been hooked on the nintendo e shop buying games on sale for $1-$5 and it's so satisfying no micro transactions. Just got turok for $5 just 1 example of like 30
I love seeing the terrifying pixelated ground crew and passengers😂😂😂
I always imagine all of RGT’s videos in Bling Blings voice and IDK WHY lol . I just wanted to share that with you guys
You haven't gone OFF in a while. I appreciate this video
The reason why these game companies are so greedy is because of how expensive it is to make games now. The budgets are insane!
I pooped while typing this
I remember when people were upset when Tears of the Kingdom was delayed. I felt I was one of the few that was not upset about it. I would rather have a delayed game than a broken game. Now games delayed years and years is another story but I am willing to wait another 6 months to a year for a game to be good at launch.
I cant even get past the "Customize identity" screen 😭 How embarrassing
We are in the golden age of gaming.
Fools gold more like it

Stop diq riding corporations.

He’s joking you fruit
Was anyone else getting the "South Park BP Oil Spill" episode vibes when RGT was acting like a video game executive apologizing for bad launches 😂
I'm in England and I just tried it half hour ago. Gets to 97 percent and nothing I waited an hour but nooo !
I remember when Simcity was ruined by this, good to see over 10 years later nothing has been learned.
Only issue I had was I couldn't get the controls to work. It was so frustrating to get my plane going. Also couldn't change my camera view
Modern gaming: selling you as bare-bone minimalistic product/service as possible, for as much money as possible.
The 2020 pandemic $#@ed up gaming in general. Developers lost motivation!
I can’t wait for RGT’s weekly video about how modern games suck. This will go on for a while. At least RGT makes money with these videos.
Everything is low quality trash in media, games, and entertainment

When my favorite Nintendo TH-camr gets excited when a good Nintendo game comes out.
Unacceptable Microsoft. I walked away from them for cause. Preach!!!!!
does anyone else rememeber trying to log into America Online over and over again trying to get a connection back in 1997?
The release was like a really bad April fools day joke.
My old lady was yelling at me to pull out.
RGT 85 is my grandma.
Your honesty is very refreshing. Been really looking forward to this game as it is supposed to be more Arcade style, but the always online even in single player was a deal breaker. Don't get too discouraged because voices like yours are very important and relevant in this day and age.
8:43 you are making a good point. Why do we support and make excuses but not other art forms?
8:44 "your mama comes out and she s..." 😂
That's why I try to wait until a game goes on sale before buying it, unless it's something I'm really dying to play ASAP.
Dont buy the games. Demand refunds. Request charge backs on your credit cards. Class Action lawsuits if needed. Problem solved. Period!
There is a revolution. The revolution is not buying the games.
I would agree, by and large new games are trash. Sure they look nice and have some things that are amazing, but nothing beats just putting a game in and playing it without things like updates or half baked code....
I agree with you bro modern gaming needs to be rebuilt from the ground up...
2024 the year the video game industry self imploded and destroyed itself
Microsoft thinks $70 games are for peasants.
When game companies used to hire developers based on merit we didn’t have these problems. Now that companies like Microsoft based on DEI, everything has been either going woke or releasing half finished games.
They should allow the option to either download or play from the cloud if you don’t have the storage.
