Well it's not like the deepfake technology was commonplace when that movie was in production. It's only in the last year or so that it's reached this level of quality.
Seems to me like shadow and light heavily affect when the facial replacement software works. In the scenes where his face was dramatically shaded, Arnolds face stayed in place.
Too short and he's face look like he did suffer some big problem while traveling through time, something is just, i dont know, wrong with Stallone face. No matter how much he tries to do a badass face, i aways laugh at hin because is just too funny.
That movie in my Top 5! Last Action Hero is one of the best scripts ever! And ONLY Schwarzenegger could play that role, because he's the number 1 action hero of all times!
You guys are REALLY close! Once the software can handle all angles, it will be perfect. Some angles are tricky because of the change to the contours of the face in 3D, and that requires adding and subtracting from the background (and a LOT of CPU work). Keep up the excellent work!

@@brat-b8h CGI is the fucking broadest term ever. Every fucking modern movie has been digitally altered atleast a little bit. Deepfakes are based on machine learning which takes significantly more resources and a very powerful computer.
I think it's amazing how the algorithm used to do this can accommodate for lighting and shadows nearly perfectly without glitching all over the place like what happens a lot with GANs.

Playing optimist here: The credibility of sources will probably just become more important. You have to remember, with enough work and man hours (and money - which they have) _governments_ have been able to do this kind of thing for a long time now. Only in static scenes. Too many moments missed, where we can clearly see Arnold's face. I've thought it would be more realistic replacement of faces. Only "C" mark or "3" i can give for this work. I'm not satisfied at all and probably disappointed.

Playing optimist here: The credibility of sources will probably just become more important. You have to remember, with enough work and man hours (and money - which they have) _governments_ have been able to do this kind of thing for a long time now. To them sending it down the pipeline is not so different from you waiting for the AI to render to them. So it might not be as scary as it looks.

One of the better ones, helps that Arnie wears one expression for most of the scene though, still does make me wonder how Stallone would do as a terminator, he has a pretty good dead eyed stare too
