Yes. Especially this far into it. I bought mine in 2020 and I had 8 service center trips the first year. I still have a window rattle that was never fixed because they couldn't reproduce it. Still sad that it's still going on in 2024. No excuse Tesla.

That's really unfortunate that you've had those issues and worse that your service center seems not great! I'm lucky that the two service centers I've used around Chicago have been good at honoring warranty work. I'm bringing my 24 M3P next Friday for them to install Homelink, but also review the same inconsistency in the turn buttons and a door alignment, so we'll see if they're still on it. For your car, here's to hoping another service center treats you better, as it's an excellent vehicle and your videos are entertaining and honest

Got my MP3 on 6/11 had to service it next day, 6/12 because I started hearing a rattle noise on the front dash driver seat. Sounded like static or like a lose screw in between the dashboard and ambient lighting. Thankfully the service center was able to fix it the next day. But still sucks to have to service your car within the same 24 hours of pick up. Will be on the lookout for any other issues that may arise of course now that you’ve had such a bad experience in less than 2 weeks.

I’ve got my M3P June 1. There are uneven panel gaps for passenger doors and the left and the right sides of trunk, but I can live with these as I’m sure these are ‘within the spec’. But there is also a rattle noise coming from the dash, which disappears after some time of driving. I’m going to report it and hope I can reproduce it at the service.

I have both the 18” & the new performance & i have the same exact noise, i have a service appointment but i suspected that was the aeros so I couldn’t wait for the service appointment so i took the aeros off and the noise was gone. 👍
I believe the reason the noise is the metal part that goes inside the aeros isn’t clipping in all corners inside the aero shell so it makes those noises.

I think he’s referring to lemon law’s which are state specific.
Under that if you are sold a vehicle which is not “fit for purpose” the manufacturer can be forced to purchase the car back from you.
Of course it’s much easier when the manufacturer themselves agrees that they’ve “sold you a lemon” and agrees to repurchase the vehicle.
If they do not agree to do this, then you have to get lawyers involved…

I have had some issues with both of my Teslas. I have a 2021 Model 3 Performance and 2022 Model Y Long Range. Both have had issues with the speakers. My Model 3 had the amplifier go out within the first week of ownership. Model Y had the rear speaker on the trunk sounding
distorted on delivery. Model 3 was an easy fix. But my Y needed three service trips because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I told them it sounded like it was coming from the rear. First trip they replaced the amplifier, second trip they replaced the entire rear door panel speaker. Finally on the third trip they replaced the rear trunk speaker. The Y also needed to have the charge port door replaced as it wasn’t opening, mobile service was able to do that one. My Model 3 also had issues with water accumulating in the trunk. Which also needed three service trips before it was fixed.
The good thing is the service center in San Diego was always very nice, helpful, and accommodating. One tip I learned from so many trips is if you book the latest time on a Friday, you’ll pretty much be guaranteed a loaner vehicle that you can keep until Monday.

  • @jful

Wow what an awful experience, no excuse for this. Hopefully this is just an issue with this one specific service center.
When I got my model 3 a few years ago it had quite a few minor issues with various rattles around the car. It was frustrating and took many trips to the service center before getting them all fixed but I was always treated well and they did fix every issue with no push back. The service technician even thanked me for the detailed recordings I took saying it helped them fix other cars as well. I really hope this is an isolated issue with this particular center and not a general decline in service quality.
Best of luck with your car, hopefully you manage to get everything fixed to your satisfaction so you can just enjoy the awesome car you bought!

My S was in a minor collision, got fixed with new skirt, rear bumber, etc in 3 weeks. I could see a major repair taking a month or even 2, but i guess it depends on where you live and whether you take it to a Tesla authorized repair center.
That said, i ordered a windshield for a model y that showed in stock, and it literally took a month for delivery. I was kinda expecting 2 or 3 days, so that sucked.

I have a four week old 2024 M3P that had the same aero cap sounds on all four wheels. I took it into the service center and they were able to fix it. However, it seems they added a lot of lube because it's spraying out everywhere when I drive. They also scratched up my wheel center cap so a mobile tech will come out to replace it. I'm not positive but I suspect someone at the service center took my car for a joy ride as there was 18 miles added to the odometer which is beyond a standard road test. I also had a driver side rattle from the dash. However, it seems like the service center was able to fix that. The car itself is pretty good. Panel gaps are even, paint is in good condition, LED strip is aligned, car doesn't pull to the right.

Hey man! I hate to hear you’re having this experience with your brand new Tesla! Interestingly enough, I’m having the exact same issue with that clicking/creaking noise in 22 M3P particularly at low speeds and when I turn my wheel to the left. My service center is great but I’ll be visiting them for the 3rd time this. Week. 1st time-memorial day weekend, low staff but was suggested that it was the control arm that needed replacement 2nd time- I let them know based on the previous advisor recommendation that my control arm needed replacement but they changed the upper control arm which apparently wasn’t the issue(but at least I got a new one 🤷🏽). They did leave me a message upon picking up my car letting me know that it was more than likely the lower control arm and to make another appt. All the is inconvenience of time all has been free since I’m still under 50,000miles .3rd times a charm. This was apparently a known issue as well a few years back with Model 3’s too, so hopefully it’s a simple free fix for you!

I just recieved my new performance model 3, and I will have to accept that this is the first year they are producing it. Quality issues are very typical with every car manufacturer in the first year. I just bought my 1st EV/Tesla in Feb. A used 2021 M3 LR from my local Tesla dealership. 2 weeks in, the drivers side wiper stopped working in the middle of a rain storm. Had to pull over and wait for the rain to stop before I could drive again. Scheduled an home appointment that was 2 weeks out. The tech came and said he couldn’t get the wiper off because it was screwed on with a drill when it should’ve been done by hand which is why it didn’t work. The wiper was screwed on too tight and he didn’t have the tool so I went to a service center that same day and they fixed it in less than 20 minutes…2 weeks later it stopped working again. I drove it back to the same center with no appointment really frustrated and they saw me right away. Turns out the washer for the wiper was completely worn out and should’ve been replaced when they “fixed” it the 1st time. Fast forward to last week…The wiper on the passenger side stopped working. Took it to the same service center and they again saw me right away. This time they had to replace entire windshield wiper mechanism. So far so good but I will say to have a used car, if the ONLY problems I’m having is wiper issues that I don’t have to pay for to get fixed, it’s a pretty good deal for the car of my dreams and the service center team I go to has been top notch and professional

My sister let them try to fix a problem on a new model Y after the third attempt the problem was still there and she gave the car back to Tesla after one week of ownership. Unfortunately, a lawyer had to fight Tesla to get the money back and it took him almost six months to get the money back.

Little issues like this are not unusual on very early production cars from any manufacturer. Annoying for sure, but reality. On the other hand, I picked up a Model Y Dual Motor from Austin a few months ago, and it is perfect, paint, fit, and operation. Luck of the draw, but you should have been treated better at the service center, for sure, to make it all right on a new production car.

Eventually I lawyered up and Tesla settled out of court for a buyback under the lemon law. I swore to God that I will never buy a tesla again, until I saw the new Performance lol. • @quickpstuts412

I don't know how these Tesla fanboys can criticize you for saying that about Tesla. Ridiculous. They deliver crap cars. As a 2020 Model 3 owner who spent my first year practically living at the service center (and never got all my issues fixed to this day), they are absolutely not behaving like a luxury car company.
For my car, upon delivery, I had 2 misaligned front windows that rattle, a misaligned trunk (still present), loose rocker panel, loose C panels that made noise upon acceleration, chipped charging port, and front wheel well rattle.
Why accept the car? I didn't discover any of these until I left the center. Otherwise I would have rejected delivery. The biggest issue is that the rattles were not consistent with every drive, so they didn't present themselves right away. What's worse is it was during the start of the pandemic with the lockdowns.
Quality control is awful, and how crazy that it's STILL bad in 2024.
Yes, overall I know they are better, but not good enough. Not for a $60K car. And I'm a stockholder by the way. I'm not afraid to admit their issues.
