In the beginning when you pointed out what routes went through Arlington, you pointed to Lee hwy (US 29) instead of I-66 like it said.

I live in Orlando, FL and want to move to DC area after visiting last year. I’m 26 years old and a teacher! Any advice on a such a big move?
Thanks for watching! I love hearing that, I'm glad you enjoyed it here. A lot of my advice would be specific to the person, whether they are buying or renting, price range etc. for neighborhood recommendations, and specific to where they will be working. My most general advice for moving here:
1. Make sure you have proper expectations, many people in other areas are used to more newer construction being available. Here everything was built up in the 1950s or earlier, or the 70s a little further out, so new builds are rare, and come at a premium. It's more common to get a renovated/updated home built in the 1930s than 2000 or newer.
2. Plan everything on a calendar from packing to closing to move day, to keep it from giving you too much anxiety.
3. Get a really good Realtor familiar with the area and neighborhoods so you can be confident in their advice, especially if you are buying or renting using virtual tours. (Call me😉)
BTW, there are a lot of great jobs for teachers here. I'm always hearing about job openings for teachers in Fairfax Co. Thank you for teaching our children!
I love this question because I use to work in Arlington and I loved it. So, I want to move back to Virginia from Florida as well
@@ealyp1 curious as to why you want to move to a more northern state. I usually find folks up here move down south.
@@jayflock7446 People move down south mostly for lower cost and sun. What people don’t realize is, yes the cost is lower; but the jobs don’t pay enough. So, a lot of Floridians moved to Georgia or the Carolinas. I’ve been in VA long enough to know a lot about it.
@@ealyp1 wow really? What about salaries in highly professional industries like tech and whatnot, are they reasonable?
